Description

The Tequila Toriles Tour is like 4 tours at once, an experience filled with nonstop action. Take an archaeological tour, learn about handmade tortillas, watch giant quesadillas being made, come to understand the tequila production process, and enjoy traditional Mexican meals on this 11-hour bonanza.

Your adventure begins with a delicious buffet breakfast at a local restaurant in Rincon de Guayabitos. Afterwards, get a look at the panoramic views of the Cactlan Valley and its capital city of Compostella, stop at the lava beds surrounding the El Ceboruco volcano, and continue to the pre-Columbian ruins of Ixtlan del Rio, a site that is entrenched in Mexican history.

Next, it's off to visit the fabled town of Tequila, where Mexico's national drink gets its name. Here, you can visit one of the most famous distilleries in Mexico, learn about the harvesting and production process, and get the chance to taste the finish product as you tour the distillery and see how tequila is actually made.

Once you've worked up an appetite, enjoy a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant. Wrap up the tour with a new appreciation for true Mexican tequila along with Mexico's incredible history.

Our private guide was wonderful. He has so much knowledge to share. We got to see some amazing sites. It is a very long ride, so be prepaired to travel, but seeing a different part of the state was wonderful.

Due to a mix up for another member of the tour we were basically forced to go the Jose Cuervo tour, which was not the one we wanted to see. The archeological tour was interesting, but I would have rather had more time to spend in the city of Tequila. When I go back to Mexico I will probably rent a car and go to Tequila on my own.
