We could not get into the apartment due to issues with the access code. It did not work at at all after multiple tries in different ways. The person on the phone asked us to try different codes which did not work as well. She said there was no technician on duty. She could not transfer us to a manager. She asked to cancel the reservation and go find another hotel. We ended up walking up to another hotel and accepting their walk-in price. This is just so not acceptable. I would not want anyone else to go through this situation again. It was a painful experience to say the least.

Nice apartment, but not responsible communication
I am satisfied with the apartment, but not happy with a couple things: 1. There is no reception for this apartment. The owner first said the check in code would be sent to me 7 days before we arrive. I sent an email / website message to follow up 7 days ahead, no response. I sent another email / website message 2 days before, no response, i sent an email / message one day before, still no response. So ignoring me. The day i arrived, we were locked out, i tried to call them with our Canada cell phone, each time whatever # i choose, the call was stopped, for a few times, so i had to go to the restaurant next to it asking for help, finally got the code to enter, but they didn't tell me the wifi password, so i had to go to the restaurant again to get that info. Altogether it wasted us about an hour, with some international calls, and the tips to the restaurant staff, to stay in the apartment. That really sucks. 2. There is very strong and disgusting smell in the elevator, stair, and a bit in the lobby.

Entrance to the property is dirty and depending what time of day, a really strong smell of sewerage. Property itself was clean and beds were comfortable but walls were stained and badly in need of a repaint. Despite the ad saying there is a hairdryer, there wasn’t. When this was queried, I got no response. Location is pretty good by the station though. Super convenient for the city centre.

Mooi gelegen, vlakbij het station. Ruime locatie in een soort penthouse. Aankleding was wel basic, maar de voorzieningen waren in orde. De communicatie met het appartement was zeer matig, de uiteindelijke afhandeling was echter weer soepel. Ondanks dat het midden in de stad was, was het toch rustig.

Great place! just a couple of things to be aware
Ok, the place is so perfectly located few steps away from the train station. The online check-in process makes the arriving a relief specially if you are tired after a long trip. Also, the place is sooo spacious, modern and comfy too. To be aware, there are no 110 plugs in case you need one and there is a kind of a drain in the front apartments entrance and sometimes from the entrance up to the elevator is really smelly. The negatives, since it is an apartment building there is no front desk and the Whatsapp line never replies, you better call instead waiting for a chat. Finally, we checked in for 3 people in two bedrooms and a sofa bed, they assumed people sleeps together and two bedrooms are enough for the three people so they don’t provide extra bed sheets for the sofa bed. If you request bed sheets you are charged with additional 25 euros.

I hope you like standing in a corridor
We arrived and the code didnt work for the room (clearly the lock was broken). We spent 45 mins on the phone trying to sort this out. There is no reception so if anything goes wrong youre left on your own in a corridor. They then gave us a code to another room which worked. People were in there!!!! Awful! We then managed to get into a third apartment. The bed was broken so we couldn't sleep in it. I think this whole service was run by children. Ridiculous.

Overall we had a very good stay. Location is nice, close to the station, walking distance to everything you need. Apartment is spacious enough for 5-6 people and de code check-in system is nice, because no hassle with 'who has the key?'. Some cons though: the appartment is nothing like the pictures! Not even a little close. Also, the communication from smartflats is very very unclear. There is a portal you need to login, which isn't really working. They say you can contact them 24/7 but aren't responding to whatsapp or e-mail. In the end it all worked out fine, but it wasn't a smooth customer experience.

Uniek aan de accommodatie was dat er geen receptie aanwezig was en dat alles vantevoren geregeld moest worden. Op zich een leuke ervaring, alleen kreeg ik de toegangscode pas onderweg naar het appartement. Was best spannend allemaal. Maar het was goed gekomen.
