Home away from home
We had some work to do in Whangateau harbour, and needed a welcoming and warm space to stay. This is beautiful, nicely decorated and appointed. Such a lovely location too!

Relaxing weekend
The Chapel was a great place to stay for a relaxing weekend. Close to Matakana markets, Morris and James for a lovely brunch and the local takeaway… fish was amazing. It was very quiet and had everything we needed.

Handy Location
We enjoyed our stay at a quiet time outside of school holidays. Great that the bach is an easy drive to Matakana, Leigh and Omaha. We rode our bikes from the bach to Omaha and return with our 11 year old . Easy ride with a path most of the way. The bach was clean, tidy and had everything we needed.

The Chapel, Point Wells
We truly enjoyed our stay at The Chapel and we would definitely book this property again and again. The location is perfect - a few minutes' drive to Omaha Beach and Matakana, with the Point Wells General Store right across the road (great coffees there by the way!). There are 3 bedrooms which each sleep 2 people, and there were only 3 of us so we had loads of space. Highlights of this property were the amazingly comfy beds, super strong water pressure in the shower, excellent heat pump, overall cleanliness, very comfy lounge area, all the amenities we needed, and communication with the owners prior to the stay was always excellent! Overall the property was extremely clean. There were only a few negatives with this property. We did notice on one of the toilet walls there was a large stain which looked like someone had splashed a drink over it and it had never been cleaned up - but that was very minor. The heaters in the bedrooms didn't work unfortunately, and while the heat-pump certainly pumped out some great heat, the 2 downstairs bedrooms were cold due to those heaters not working therefore we had to keep the heat pump on all night long. The body wash dispenser in the shower did not work, and the fresh air spray in the toilet was on empty, but otherwise everything was excellent.

Good to hear you enjoyed your stay, and thanks for highlighting those items, I hadn't seen that stain till you pointed it out! The heaters do work, but the way they get switched on is a bit confusing, so we'll make some instructions to attach to them. We'll sort out those other things as well, many thanks Andrew

Plenty of room and comfort
This was our second stay - we love staying here, and its proximity to Matakana, Omaha, and surrounds. Close to Rothko for a yummy long lunch and local wine. The Chapel is spacious, comfortable, and has a wonderful feel about it. Comfy beds and the most powerful shower ever! We'll be back!

Highly recommend staying at The Chapel.
Despite there being a small hiccup when we arrived this was quickly resolved by the very friendly manager of the property. The Chapel was the perfect place for us to have a girl's weekend away - very spacious, comfortable and clean with lovely decor.

Lovely stay - only two things need attending to - 1. Items left in the bathroom drawer (toothbrush, tooth paste, make up pad, and hand cream), and 2. no dish cloth so used face flannel. Other than that we loved the quirkiness of the furnishings, and the location. Thank you Andrew.

Girls week away
The property was nice and clean and had everything we required , it was also quiet at nighttime We did note however that there was laundry left in the washing machine and it smelt when we opened the door

The Chapel is in a great position in Pt Wells being very close to the excellent general store and a short walk to the inlet for swimming at high tide.

Weekend getaway with friends
We loved our stay in this very cute bach. Lovely decor, super comfy beds and we were so impressed with the immaculate presentation of the property. Andrew was also a very generous and accommodating host. We hope to be back sometime soon!

Gorgeous place in a stunning area
This place is gorgeous. Clean, warm and beautifully presented. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room. Sadly the Wifi wasn't working and the TV kept saying the memory was full but as we were only there for one night it wasn't a deal breaker. We did have a little hiccup around access information but luckily a neighbour helped us out. Matakana is a lovely town and we would love to return in the summer.

Perfect spot
Stayed 3 nights and everything was pristine. I would definitely love to come back in Summer as I can imagine sitting in the deck in the sun. The cleanliness was exceptional and it had everything you needed. It was a wee bit chilly in the bedrooms but it is winter. Would definitely recommend

Great spot close to Matakana
We (3 adults and an 8-y/o) stayed in The Chapel for one night over Anzac weekend. The space was lovely, well appointed, comfortable beds and the heat pump was great on a chilly evening. The chapel conversion is cool and creates an interesting living/dining space. The General store nearby was useful for milk - no takeout so we opted for pizza @ Fired Pizza Company a few minutes drive away, yum! The property is handy to a playground and beach for 8-y/o. Andrew was easy to communicate with and check in/out was seamless. Can't wait to stay again.

Glorious stay in Chapel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Chapel. Great communication with the hosts, excellent location, close to quiet estuary, Omaha Beach and Matakana village. Loved walking around Pt Wells too. Absolutely recommend this lovely accomadation.

Fantastic stay and location, easy access to water etc. Thoroughly enjoyed the space with 4 people, but would consider cooking facilities a bit too limiting if the space was full with 6. We would, however, stay again depending on numbers.

The chapel is well set out and had everything we needed for an overnight stay, and it could cope with a multiple day stay too! We cycled to Rothko for a late lunch, just 3kms away - loved the handy location!

A very nice church conversion, that definitely suited our 2 night stay for 4 adults. All bedding etc nicely presented and very clean. The general facilities were all in a nice, clean and tidy condition.
