First time in Austin
My husband and I had an amazing time in Austin for the first time, and we accredit part of that to our perfect stay location. Doug was a great host and again, you can’t beat the location!

Wonderful stay!
Doug’s cabin was the perfect place for our weekend visit! It was comfortable and well-set up, and we appreciated having the small kitchen. The bed was also very comfortable. It’s also a fantastic location, close to almost everything we wanted to do, but we especially loved walking over to Zilker for a long walk to start each morning. We’d love to stay here again!

Great Cabin Getaway
We loved our little Austin cabin while in town for a wedding. It was a great place to come back to each night and had everything we needed. And Doug was a great communicator!

Comfortable place in great location!
We enjoyed staying. The location was excellent and it was very clean. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. There was tea! That is a minor detail. The place worked great for us and our needs!

Walking distance from Lady Bird Lake trails.
We really enjoyed the privacy and laid back feel during our stay at the guest cabin. The bed was comfy too! Also loved that it was a short walk from the trails at Lady Bird Lake.

Everything you need
This may be a small cabin but it is laid out very well. Full sized bathroom with washer/dryer, very comfortable king bed, and nice kitchen. Don't shy away from the fact that it is in the back of the owners property. We stayed 4 days and we didn't see the owner once. It was like we had the place to ourselves. It felt very private. We would recommend this place to anyone. A+

While the Cabin is a guest house at the back of the property, Cabin guests will always have the right-of-way to the driveway and there is plenty of room to park right in front of it. So it’s more private and convenient than you might think.

Cute comfortable space in a wonderful location
I had a great time staying in this little cabin. I especially liked how close it was to the trails around the river. I went for enjoyable walks in the trails all three days that I stayed there.

Great getaway spot in fantastic location!
So convenient to downtown hotspots and some of the best outdoor entertainment Austin has to offer. Being tucked away in a charming older neighborhood makes this cottage the best of both worlds. A two week stay was very comfortable! Doug was easy to communicate with and so kind. Thanks, Doug!

Short Austin staycation
Short birthday Austin staycation. Perfect for what we were looking for. Close to McKinney Falls and great hiking. Property was clean and accessible to lots. King bed a bonus since hubby is a taller guy.

Great Location and Everything Else
Very clean, comfortable large bed and has everything we needed. Full kitchen has all the accessories. Location is great for walking to river, parks, and restaurants. Easy car access to the highways.

Super Stay
We live locally and rented the cabin for an extra holiday guest. Doug was wonderful to communicate with before age during our stay. The cabin was charming just like the photos, spotlessly prepared and just right for our family member. Thank you Doug and we happily recommend this property. It would be a prime location for anyone wanting to explore the best of Austin!

Great place!
Property is tucked behind the main house and feels really private and safe. It has great outdoor lighting (nice to have for when we returned at night), a really comfortable bed, and nice hot shower. On top of that, it has a kitchenette where we made coffee each morning and an adorable porch. Most importantly, it’s got great access to DT and UT and was super quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

Convenient
This bungalow is a complete treasure. I was thankful from the moment we drove up to the property. Doug and his family are welcoming and helpful. Communication was a breeze before (long before since I booked 9 months in advance), during, and after our stay. This cabin felt like home. It is very nicely furnished and decorated. There are little pieces of love for Texas and Austin in every detail. And it was easy to appreciate the neighborhood. We very much enjoyed Pool Burgers, Magnolia Cafe, Deep Eddy Caberet, all 2 minutes walking distance from our door. Also, there's a CVS about 15 mins walking distance up the road. We walked to and from the festival entrance each of the three days with no trouble at all. This was our 2nd time visiting Austin and the ACL festival. We are thrilled with our memorable experience and wish everyone who stays at Doug's the same joy. Thank you Doug and family for your kindness! I certainly hope to visit here again.

Cozy & convenient
Spent 5 nights at the cabin forsome R&R after a work trip to San Antonio. Cabin is tidy, comfortable, quiet & convenient to bars, restaurants, Whole Foods, parks, etc. Loved the big walk-in shower, washer/dryer, and front porch sitting area. Would have enjoyed having a kitchen or dining room table to set up when we needed it, for dining or computer use. Would stay there again. Highly recommend the evening bat tour with Live Love Paddle.

I appreciate your kind review. Meeting different people from all all around and helping visitors to Austin have a truly enjoyable experience is fun and rewarding. I’m not sure if you noticed the drop-down table in the kitchen hutch.

A wonderful abode!
The Johnson Creek Cabin was a delightful, spotlessly clean respite. My daughter and I had lived in Tarrytown and were back in our "hood" walking the hike and bike trail daily, walking to our favorite eateries and enjoying being back in Austin. The cabin is perfect for one or two people, everything we needed was there! Doug and his family were perfect hosts. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, the yard is lovely and the porch is GREAT....when back in Austin, we will certainly stay here!

Great Out of the Way Place Close to Downtown
Very nice stay last week in Austin; was in town for a meeting and could run downtown within minutes from the cabin. Quiet setting, great off street parking, simple but functional kitchen, nice bath, and comfortable bed. Nice stay, and appreciated having someone close by for town related questions (family stays in main house). Don't forget to eat breakfast at the Magnolia around the corner.

Great Cabin - Perfect Location
I stayed here an entire month and yes, I would stay here again. This cabin was spotless and has it all. Huge king bed, all appliance kitchen with utensils, linens/towels, even a washer/dryer. Loved the blazing fast wi-fi Internet. The location was perfect for me. Safe neighborhood. I walked the hike & bike trails almost daily and even lost some weight. :-) Doug's a great guy. You'll like him.

Close to everything, walkable to great food and easy access to the main roads around town

Cute, comfortable cabin in a great location
We had a great stay here. Walked to Zilker park every day in about ten minutes, used the nearby hike and bike trail, ate a great breakfast at Magnolia Cafe (a two minute walk away) and easily hiked to and from downtown. Cabin has everything we needed and then some. We plan to come back!

Charming and convenient
The Johnson Creek cabin offers a wonderful home in a walkable location near the river and various neighborhoood restaurants (Magnolia Cafe) and bars (Deep Eddy Cabaret had its 66th anniversary while we were there). The location was great for those of us who like to explore the city on foot and Doug was very accommodating and helpful: true Texas hospitality.
