Reservation cancelled hours prior to my flight!
At 12:01 AM on the morning of my flight from Chicago to Austin, VRBO informed me that my reservation was cancelled. The only reason given is "the property is not yet ready." If it wasn't going to be a ready for a 3:00 pm check-in on the arrival date, then this information should have been disseminated the DAY/DAYS/WEEK/WEEKS PRIOR. My brother who lives one block away from the rental home, said the contractors were working on the home every day, getting it up to standards. It's beyond bad taste to list your home as available when in fact it is not, and beyond bad taste that VRBO doesn't prevent this type of behavior. Nobody appreciates waking up to an email sent in the middle of the night informing them that they no longer have anywhere to stay ON THE DAY OF THE TRIP. I couldn't be more dissatisfied by the lack of professionalism by this property manager. As someone who's career is not very different than theirs, e-mails apologizing while you know someone is sleeping and not returning phone calls is graded as an F in my book. If I could give zero stars, I would.
