Would not return
The room was very nice and comfortable, but the bathroom needed a deep clean. Paper thin walls with work men sounds in close proximity. As for the pub, dated with tasteless food. No breakfast served May of been nice in its hay day but certainly needs a big clean up now. Also in the middle of a grim housing estate.

Glad we stayed here. Had a great roast dinner Sunday. We felt safe there and the bed was very comfy so we had a good sleep. Bathroom needs some maintenance..the grout in the shower is black and the tub/shower collects 3” of water during a short shower. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

This wasn’t what we expected when booking. The accommodation wasn’t as per pics. The king size bed we paid extra for was two single beds with a mattress topper that you fell down all night. The accommodation is literally in the middle of a housing estate. In the middle of nowhere. No where to go. Literally stuck. Wasn’t what we expected.

Crofters Lodge as advertised is on the outskirts of Barrow in one of the more affluent areas of the town with the Countryside to its rear , Morecambe a short distance away and the Town centre just a 5 minute drive away.Our beds are industry norm Zip Link beds with can be separated when needed to set the room up as a twin. We receive many compliments as to how comfy they are. The pictures of our rooms were taken by Daniel Thwaites in conjunction with setting up our website. We cannot guarantee which room you will be allocated when booking …only that you will allocated a Double , King or King Deluxe depending on which you have booked. Kind Regards Crofters Lodge

Quaint hotel in a quiet residential area
Like a motel, entrance from outside to the room. NOTE: NO breakfast, not even to pay for. They don't open b4 12. However: Coffee/tea + cookies in the room.

The world's most helpful place
Wow where do I start ? With CARRIE that's where! From my very first phone call requiring help in regards to payment to us leaving. But what happened in-between was amazing..... Travelling from Sheffield our car broken down in Leeds a hour from home & 2.5 hours from Crofters Lodge at 6pm. Carrie was on hand offering support & ideas after 6 hours of no RAC we knew we had missed check in (Carrie had waited 2 hours after her shift finished for us bless her). Carrie very kindly agreed for us to collect the key from a secure local location in site so we could still check in. Sadly another 5 hours passed taking us to 5am when we finally left Leeds, arriving at 7:30am normal time for checking out but the lovely Carrie arranged a complimentary late checkout til lunch time so we could get some sleep in the most amazingly comfortable bed. The room was beautiful & quaint super clean & had everything a person could possibly need. The location is lovely and a awesome night sleep. Myself & husband would have been lost without Carries help so Thank you from the bottom of our hearts & everyone needs to visit this fantastic place if only once x

Really nice place to stay. Staff were great. The Crofters lodg rooms are next to the Crofters pub. We booked in and was offered a table for dinner as they get busy on a Saturday night. Food and service was great.

Great evening meal. Shame no breakfast
Excellent service and food is simple home cooking that is reasonably priced and delicious. Room was clean, spacious but the walls are thin. Overall. Good value for money.

Bad stay
Food was not good no information in room to tell you things you can do round the area no night contact if anything was wrong told all things are 5 minutes walk it was 10 min drive to town centre so had to drive everywhere we wanted to go also told lake Windermere was only half hour away it was an hour so wouldn't recomend it to anyone

The re epitome when we arrived was great. The lady was very charming. She greeted us with a smile and offered us a phone charger. The room super clean, super cute.

Photos very deceiving, we thought it was in the Countryside but it was right in the middle of a housing estate. We paid 75 quid for room only, sorry but wont be going back

Good for one night
Stayed for one night at the Crofters as I had work in the area. The rooms themselves are nicely furnished and very clean. However because of the wooden floors/large room combination, there was a lot of echo in the room. Also the pipework was extremely noisy. Slightly let down by a lack of check out facility etc

Enjoyed our stay, friendly staff/owners and good food. Only 2 issues were there was very poor signal for tv (as we were staying in this would have been better), unabke to watchbit due to glitches. Also not enough milk for morning coffee and no way of asking for any more.

Bathoom was moldy bith shower and screen and cobwebs in room, delux kingsize bed which we paid extra to have was just two single beds pushed together. Tv was un watch apply due to no reception. With covid thought cleanliness would of been alot priority.

The staff were lovely. The outside areas were unkempt and shabby. You had to request a hairdryer and by the time I realised that the pub wheee I presume you get it from was closed.

Lovely accommodation but...
The walls are so thin that how your stay goes depends entirely on who is in the rooms next to you. Unfortunately to the left of us we had a couple who talked non stop until 3am. Obviously I don't blame them for that as they weren't shouting or being loud but I shouldn't be able to hear all about the difficulties in their relationship through the wall. It was like they were in our room. I thought i'd be off to the land of nod when they finally stopped talking but sadly, within 5 minutes of that happening, the neighbours to our right decided to get frisky. Hats off to the lad for his stamina but by the time they'd finished at 4am i was a wreck. I only managed 2.5 hours sleep before my child woke me up for a day at the nearby zoo which, due to the lack of sleep combined with the heat was only manageable due to the magic of coffee.
