Great place and very nice owners!
We stayed over for a tournament at penn state and this was the perfect place! Super helpful hosts and the hot tub was super nice!! Plenty of space for 6 people and it was a very homey feel. Definitely would recommend!!

Would stay again
Overall, my son and I enjoyed our stay in this house. We brought our dog and he loved running outside. Lots of space to run around, squirrels to chase and cats to sniff. The kitchen had all the basic requirements. The bathroom was a little tight but fine for two people. The third bed in the office makes it a little tight if you want to use the office desk. I found the bed to be a little hot because there are waterproof mattress covers on everything. I totally understand why owners would want to use those, but it does make for hot sleeping. The owners were very responsive to any questions and reached out to me early due to weather concerns.

Rebecca, thank you for the review. I am sorry about the tight space in the office we put an extra bed in there to get more people. If you stay again it just slides to the side easy just move it over. Thank you for understanding the sanitary covers, some people are allergic to pets so I put them on everything pillows, chairs, sofa etc. I am glad you enjoyed your stay thank you again. Clean and Close to State College
We wanted a spacious place to stay after the PSU football game, and this was great! Just around a 20 minute drive from Beaver Stadium.

Great quiet place near State College
This place is close enough to State College that we made it to the stadium on game day in twenty five minutes. Location is in the woods! If you are OK with being secluded in beautiful surroundings during your visit, this is a great option. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was very nice, plenty of room for all to hang out. Hot tub was a bonus!

Convenient to State College

Penn State visit
We stayed here over a weekend while visiting our son at PSU. Property matched the description, everything was clean and in working order. We felt right at home and enjoyed our stay. Hosts were super responsive with the couple of random questions we had. Would book this again for another weekend visit!

Family vacation

Penn State move in
Stayed at this listing to move our daughter into Penn State. Large basement apartment that was spacious and away from the hustle and bustle of move in weekend. It was about a 20 minute drive to Penn State but still conveniently located. We enjoyed the hot tub and the wooded surroundings.

Visit to Bald Eagle State Park
Secluded but perfect. Everything you want in a home away from home. Was able to relax with family, visit the State Park and enjoy outdoor avtivities. Spent out time tubing, water skiing, swimming, kayaking, ATV riding and even squeezed in some shopping. We preordered our griceries for pick up in Bellefonte but there is a Weis close buy for those not from the area. We spent the morning using the hot tub and playing board games then enjoyed Bald Eagle State Park were we rented a boat for tubing and had brought our Kayaks. They do have those there for rent as well. We enjoyed dinner out with family in the area both in Bellefonte and Lock Haven. We ended our night with movie, snacks and use of the hot tub. We were able to have breakfast in and prepare our coolers for the day back on the lake and even on our ladt day heading out we hit the ATV trails north of the rental. We had our minature daschunds with us and being secluded allowed them to feel like they were still at home yet easily accessible to us to check up on them and enjoy time with them still after our time with family on the lake and in the am before we started our day. Great place and owners were super nice. Have to rent if you haven't yet.

Loved it here!
We had a great time. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. We had trouble finding it at first, but my family said they came right there. Look carefully for Taylor Road. Tammy was very easy to communicate with and answered all my questions. We had a dog with us, which cost an extra $75.00, but we felt it was a fair price. I recommend this home.

Family vacation
The listing said new hot tub coming in spring. We got there and we were not allowed to use Went to use pool and cleaner was in and active no net to take gypsy moths out of pool The discription says you would have entire home And only share with other guest in party Owners stayed in upper part of house. He was quiet but Between the smoking. Always on the phone We were more quiet than her. When we booked the discription said new hot tub comming in spring. Water park??? The heater and air conditioner was so loud. Not relaxing or enjoyable sleep. I’m a very Easy going person but 👎

Hello I am sorry you misread the property details. We put a new hot tub in for our guests that was right in front of your apartment that was set up and ready for you. We also have one for my husband and myself to use that is private that one was not completed setting up yet still putting shingles on the top of it, we have 2 hot tubs. Also, we spoke with you about the gypsy moths in our area and were cleaning the pool when you arrived the nets and everything were laying there we were cleaning it with the automatic cleaner that is what that does. We never listed our entire house to rent we live upstairs its says that in the listing. I am not sure about a water park there is one in Tipton, PA which is a general listing that says whats in the area. We have central heat and air conditioner so yes it turns off an on you also, had an instruction guide to turn off air or heat in the apartment you could have simply turned it off. As far as my husband smoking he was smoking outside when we were cleaning the pool and outside on our deck, and yes I am human and was talking on the phone on my deck when you came outside and I am sorry you misread the description about us living there. When we talked by the pool you said you were having a great time. I apologize for your inconvenience the gypsy moths they are terrible this time of year in our area we live in the woods so its kinda of a inconvenience, one good thing they are almost done. Perfect Tournament Weekend Oasis
We spent our weekend here because our daughters had a softball tournament and it was the perfect spot to rest after a long day on the field. Check in was simple, the property was quiet, the girls loved the hot tub and we couldn’t have been happier! Thank you!

working on the hot tub area... Gonna make steps go up through the bank into the back. Hopefully will be done this summer. Also, will be getting new hot tub up and going this month. Hopefully you can come and stay again and it will be all finished. Thank you again.

Great weekend get away
My wife and I and another couple stayed here for a concert at BJC at Penn State. It was our first time in the area and we stayed Friday and Sat nights. We arrived later than we wanted too Friday so we ate locally at a restaurant. Seemed like the local restaurants closed around 9 or 10 on Fridays but we were able to find a spot. The really enjoyed the accommodations at Ames place. They are back in the woods off a gravel road. The rentable spot is on the lower level of what I believe is their residence but is closed off from the top level by locked doors. The place is exactly as advertised with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, the living room area is large with an electric tv stand fireplace. There is a small computer/office room off that with additional bed that we found useful. The kitchen area was down the hallway from that with a range, full refrigerator sink and 4 person dining table. The pool was closed as we stayed in March however the hot tub was open. Which we used on Saturday before the concert. In speaking with the owners they stated they are upgrading the hot tub soon but we found the one they had to be satisfactory. The property has several ponds on it and we got a kick out of the several cats we saw roaming around. In speaking with the owners we learned that Ubers to this area can be somewhat of an issue (they do also own a transportation business but we took our chances). We were able to Uber to Penn state area for around 60 dollars. The ride is about 25 mins.

Privacy and relaxation
Patrick responded very quickly, never had to wait for an answer. The place is clean and quiet. We didn't like the beds, they were hard to sleep on, but for the price I can't complain. The shower is good, the toilet is small (in our case it was not a problem, but for someone it might be). The living room is quite spacious. We couldn't appreciate the pool and the hot tub. I would recommend the place to anyone who needs a quiet retreat in nature. It was a pleasant experience.

Would stay again!
We highly recommend staying here. The owners were very responsive to all questions we had prior to arriving and during our stay and checking in couldn’t be easier. Every year my family goes to a PSU game with a college friend and his family. This place was just what we needed. We weren’t sure what to expect since we only had the downstairs and it was a 2 bedroom, but the place was very spacious, clean, and linens for the beds and pull-out, towels, and the WIFI worked great. There were swings to sit on outside. Just a beautiful place inside and outside. We HIGHLY recommend. Will be staying here again. The only downfall is that we didn’t get to meet the owners. 😊

Comfortable Stay after PSU Game
Our group of 9 enjoyed our overnight stay in this lower level suite. It was nice having a comfortable place nearby to rest after a day of tailgating and football in State College. Patrick and Tammy provided all of the essential info before our stay. Unfortunately the listing didn't capture that they closed the hot tub; that was the only discrepancy from our expectations. Pleasant Stay
We stayed at this property for a single night. The apartment was clean and comfortable! We were in town to visit our college kids and enjoyed having the extra space to spend the afternoon chilling as a family. We really enjoyed the opportunity to bring our dog along to visit with the kids. Check-in and communication from the very friendly host was excellent.

My family and I stayed at this property when we were visiting our kids at Penn State. What a delight! The location is breathtaking. We enjoyed a morning walk before heading out to see the kids. Beautiful wooded lot. I the home was super clean and comfortable. All the furnishings were in terrific condition. We felt at home. The owners were wonderful with communication. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommending and hope to be back.

Relaxing Night Away
This property was absolutely beautiful. It was a perfect aesthetic with the fall foliage. The house was very clean - which added to the relaxation factor. Along with the interior being neat and aesthetic, all the furniture was comfortable and sturdy. The hosts were excellent about communicating and were perfectly friendly.

Our guests were super clean! Maid said she was surprised that 8 people were even here. They had everything cleaned up when she got here and made her job a lot easier. These guests were great. I am so glad they enjoyed the stay it is a beautiful time of year here.

Impressive and hospitable
Owners were easy to work with and left a special gift upon our arrival which was very much appreciated. Very spacious property with a great view of the woods. We would have loved to stay longer to experience the fire pit and hot tub. I will definitely stay there again!
