Million Dollar View
We enjoyed our stay on Belleville lake very much. The views from the yard, first and second floor windows were great. It was a bit chilly, but with the sun shinning we sat by the large windows and almost felt we were outside. We enjoyed watching the bald eagles, loons, and other waterfowl on the lake. We also enjoyed watching the crew team each day that launches across the lake. The home is lovely and suited our needs perfectly for our five day stay the beds are extremely comfortable and kitchen is fully equipped with great appliances, including the five burner gas oven. The neighborhood is lovely and very quiet. The 1.6 acre lot would be fun in the summer for games and picnics. We will be back!

Excellent except cleanliness
Cleanliness of the property was disappointing to say the least. I recommend the owners fire their housekeeping staffs. Just to mention egregious cleanliness issue- somebody elses dirty socks were under the bed, unwashed dishes in the kitchen, dog pop laying around in the yard, linen not washed. Furniture was old enough that I had to tell my 200lb husband to not sit on some of those chairs/ recliner with the fear of breaking and paying damage fees. Everything else was perfect.

Clean & great location
My initial concern was from past reviews about the cleanliness but when I contacted the owner she explained she has a new cleaning lady. I can attest that the new cleaning lady is doing a GREAT job as the entire property was VERY clean. Great location on the lake and owner was very responsive. I highly recommend!

Peaceful Setting
Beautiful, peaceful setting with view of the lake on a quiet street. Older home, but functional with ample bedrooms. Kitchen is spacious with updated appliances, but bottom cupboards have slight older home odor. Loved how the home was fully stocked with plenty of towels and linens and all the supplies you need such as dishwasher soap and trash bags and cleaning supplies.

Beautiful view of the lake
Rustic look and feel. Beautiful view of the lake from the kitchen dining area. Too bad it was cold - i imagine it would be great to sit at the dock in summer. Prompt and easy communication with the host.

Lakehouse
The home is in a very quiet neighborhood and is as described. It is an older home with a newer kitchen. Great view of lake and even saw a Bald Eagle. This is not a modern home but if your good with that you will be satisfied. Great communication with owner.

August Rental
We had trusted the host’s promised refurbishment of our 2022 ‘s rental of this residence would kept; it was disappointing to arrive inside & find it in worse condition. If we hadn’t business & leisure plans, our pet & monthly available rentals in the area, we would have left. Our family gathering was held elsewhere due to home condition. Lack of: interior & exterior deep cleaning of home including windows & blinds, carpentry & plumbing repairs, furniture repair and/or removal, basement odor & clutter, lack of & sub par amenities for a prearranged monthly rental. A 4 day power outage resulted in lost $ in food & freezer items, owner late response of accommodation of her newly furnished rental nearby @ end of power outage (1 nite). Didn’t feel host cared esp. given 2nd opportunity.

Perfect for what we needed
The house was exactly what we needed - a rustic lake cottage located in the middle of family we came to visit. Host graciously accommodated my dogs. House wasn’t the cleanest, but that’s part of the Michigan lake vibes. Perfect for a couple friends to come by and sit in the yard by the campfire looking at the lake view. Stairs to lake were steep as pictured. Not really a swimming lake but good for boats, paddle boards etc. Would recommend.

Great quiet location
Very dog friendly - our occasionally standoffish dog made a friend with another dog while walking. He loved to watch the ducks and the fishermen. There is a great ‘reading room’ upstairs with a view of the lake. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay. The kitchen is well stocked with new appliances. It felt like every room had a chair with the option to put your feet up.

Older home
The kitchen with the view of the lake is the best thing about the property. We brought in the outside patio table to have enough room for everyone to sit, as kitchen table was very small. The living room is small and dark. Enough seating for six. The bathroom upstairs is extremely old and could use updating. Roomy bedrooms upstairs, all with in window air. This lets little flying gnats in. The downstairs bathroom was constantly filled with gnats. If you are ok with an old house, the view is very nice.

The Lakehiuse
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was in close proximity to the ball fields. The boys enjoyed fishing from the docks. The house was certainly roomy enough and had everything we needed. Would definitely book again if returning to the area.

Two story house & Two stories to the lake
This home was nice to have for 7 adults, it required some sleeping arrangements as some bunked together but 3 bedrooms upstairs & 1 Downstairs plus an office and the kitchen/dining room area overlooking the lake. Full unimproved basement with concrete floor & washer / dryer . Home has a nice large kitchen & side by side full size refrigerator with large freezer drawer.. Lots of cabinets/ countertops. Living room furniture is adequate but not great, recliner/sofa is a bear to get the foot back down & locked. Office just off living room has a huge wood desk & an office chair which we used in the living room since there was really only 4 seating spots. Wi-Fi was flawless and working from there was no issue. Only two TV’s one in living room- smart tv & one upstairs in master bedroom also a smart tv. Upstairs bathroom has a stand up shower & good hot water but faucet is backward so cold is hot & hot is cold. It does take a few minutes to get hot water upstairs but it’s good. Upstairs toilet good for adults. Downstairs has a full bathtub/shower and what we refer to as a “hobbit” toilet as it’s low and has a tiny round bowl, not great for adults today. Great location, quiet lakefront property. Be advised the owner has a fairly new stairwell going down to the lake but it’s literally like 2-3 stories down to the dock from the top. Overall great experience.

Summertime...
Great location, weather was not as hoped for, hot and humid. The steps to the dock need to be cleared of vines. The lake did not seem ideal for swimming, murky water.. that being said the view from kitchen window, dining area is lovely. With good weather the back porch would have been heavenly! If you ha e a paddle board or kayak this lake would be ideal!

Comfortable but could use a little work
The house was clean except for cobwebs. The kitchen is very nice with a great view but the screens in the big windows are damaged. One has a bent frame and a considerable rip in it. The sliding screen door off the kitchen doesn't fit the door at all so we didn't even use it. We did sit on the dock to enjoy the lake but the walk down was a little tricky. Bushes are grown over the steps so bad that my daughter nearly fell down the steps tripped up by the brush growing across them. And my last complaint is that there is an air conditioner in the king bedroom but no screen to prevent bugs from coming in. I had the table lamp on one night and the ceiling was covered in tiny bugs. It is a nice place, just needs a few simple alterations

It's all about the lake
The place is old and a little rough. It needs a deep cleaning and some fresh paint. But it is equipped well and the lake and property are beautiful so it still got a 4 star review.

Great Stay on the Lake
This place has definite charm! Carol is a great host. She communicated with me early in the process and called the morning of checkout. The house has any amenity you like--I even got to use the office space for my out-of-the-office work. The beds are comfy. THANK YOU Carol for the water filter downstairs! Much needed and for as much water as I drink, it was a Godsend. You will never forget your stay here. We didn't go down the steps to the lake (went to my sisters and used her gentler slope) but my son told us it's 53 steps. My old knees wouldn't allow that. The upstairs will take people back to the days of Stranger Things--upstairs in the upside down!

Great house, great host, just what we needed
The house was just what we needed to bring together family to celebrate a graduation! The host was very responsive and helpful. One suggestion really for the benefit of our super host: have a document prominently on site to detail what's expected on check out. We contacted to ask and the host responded quickly and there was really nothing more we needed to do! (We're used to tasks like "put all dirty towels in the laundry room" and things like that!) Thank you!

Great, private lake house
This property has everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. There is plenty of room, and 4 large bedrooms. The views of the lake from both levels are very nice. The kitchen is huge, and has all new appliances. You'll have everything you need to make whatever you like. The house is older, but still very comfortable. As long as you aren't expecting a brand new, luxury home, you won't be disappointed!

I lived in this area my whole life until retiring a few years ago. This house was in a safe neighborhood with mature trees and a nice view of the lake where you could see the U of M women’s rowing team. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, towels and utensils with a filtered water spigot for drinking. The location was close to our family event and allowed us to have our dog. The king size bed was comfortable. This place would not be good for young children as there was no door to close off the basement which left the house cold and we saw a few nail sticking out of the walls on the stairway. The house was not very clean at all. The first thing I did was sweep the kitchen floor and pull the living room furniture away from the walls and vacuum the room. The house was old, that I could live with but probably wouldn’t stay here again until it has a thorough deep cleaning. The furniture was not very comfortable and it didn’t work very well. The owner is extremely nice and responded quickly to my question about hot water in the upstairs shower which by the way if you turn the knob to cold there’s plenty of hot water.😊 I was mostly disappointed with the cleanliness of the place.

PEACEFUL PLEASANT PLACE ON THE LAKE
We brought siblings together from 3 different states, to have some group time with 95-year-old mother. The huge yard defines the coziness of this offering. I think we saw neighborhood people twice. The house is well-supplied. We built fires in evenings, played games, and shared favorite dishes. SO GLAD we did this instead of getting multiple hotel rooms. You will not regret choosing this home and location.

Great Lake getaway
House was conveniently located and the lake view was gorgeous!! Plenty of bedrooms, big enough for our large family! The house is beginning to show its age but nothing that hindered our stay. The house was clean enough but not immaculate. Washer and dryer were convenient and the house was well stocked with supplies (trash bags, laundry detergent, shampoo, etc). Thanks for a great stay!

Great View
We really enjoyed our extended stay at Whisky Waters. What a great location making it very easy to get to many locations that we needed. We enjoyed watching the University of Michigan Water Ski Team and Row Teams practice on the water at all hours of the day.

Tranquil quaint retreat
The property was a great value. I think it was unique in that it was very comfy and traditional. Brought back wonderful memories from my own grandmothers' home. Some interesting architecture and antique collections. A rare find indeed! The neighborhood was wonderful! Would stay here again for sure!

Perfect Weekend Getaway
My husband, sister and her husband enjoyed a 3 day stay. The home is very cozy. Enjoyed the very large kitchen with sitting area. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you will need. The wet bar was a treat. The lake is beautiful and provided the back dropped we were looking for. Carol is an excellant host. We live an hour away, so having a local getaway destination is great!

Nice spot to look out over the water
House was clean. Easy to get to. Front screen door was missing it's screen. We just left it open. Top bathroom shower had no hot water. We used first floor. Whole place is well water so it definitely carries a strong odor. The well water also made the tub look gross. 😬 We did enjoy looking out at the water. It is quite a trip down so if you have mobility issues beware. Bedrooms were nice sized and not difficult to get comfortable in. Window unit ac kept us cool but we had to leave the doors open. My spouse marveled at the carpet leading upstairs. We also couldn't get master bedroom TV to work. But it was quiet and we did enjoy our visit.

The hot and cold are reversed. Most people figure it out. We now have city water there

Lakehouse with a beautiful view
An older house with a gorgeous view of Belleville Lake. Came fully stocked with all the pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, plates, bowls, & utensils you could need, along with a bonus minibar! Our favorite spot was the large kitchen with full lake view. We were pleasantly surprised by the sleeping arrangements upstairs... 3 good sized bedrooms, plus a seating area with a lake view. The A/C doesn't seem to work upstairs, but there is a window unit which helps a lot if you turn it all the way up. The well water made showering difficult due to the smell, but this was fully disclosed. We were grateful for the drinking water they provided as we ran out of bottled water on our last day. All around a great stay!

Good experience overall.
House was very nice. Property was very nice. Price was reasonable. If you're wanting to do a lot of fishing or lake activities several times a day, be ready for 3 flights of stairs totaling about 60 steps. Not complaining at all, because it's a very nice property, but it's far up from the lake. Fishing was decent and the weather was ok, it could have cooperated a little better but it was still good overall. If you take a dog, I'd recommend cleaning up after it daily, as the lawn mowing crew ratted us out to the owner. I took my dog to the same area of the yard and intended to take care of it all at once at the end of our 3 days. Got a message from the owner regarding that and felt a little like we were being watched after that. Thumbs up to the owner, as she did let us check in early. Overall a good experience.

Beautiful views, perfect Michigan house
Belleville Lake is incredibly scenic. Carol was very responsive and made it easy to check in. The property was very cute, comfortable and spacious - everything we needed. Belleville Lake is not a swimming lake - more of a water sports / boating lake. There is not a beach. Overall excellent location!!
