Beachside heaven
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. We walked the beach during the day , drove to OOB for meals and sightseeing. It was just perfect and we will definitely stay there again. Thanks a lot to management and the owners for having a great rental, clean, modern perfect in all ways.

Short Weekend Away
My fiance and I loved our stay here and plan on coming back next summer. The location is fantastic, the beach really is a stones throw away from the front door. Easy access to town areas nearby while also being separated enough to enjoy the peacefulness of the area.

Wonderful Cottage with Breathtaking Views!
A completely wonderful stay at the Sea Cottage. From start to finish we had the best weekend. The Cottage is very updated and well furnished with everything you could possibly want or need. The location was absolutely breathtaking. The ocean is directly in front of the Cottage. It was so fun to sit outside on the deck chairs and watch the ocean and particularly the surfers. Our little pup Clyde enjoyed his stay as well. Very pet friendly and walking on the beach was absolutely magical. If you decide to stay here, you won’t be disappointed. Our original booking was interrupted by the unforeseen hurricane / tropical storm Lee, and even though we were outside of our cancellation window, Susan & Lisa worked with us and allowed us to reschedule our weekend two weeks later. Lisa and Susan are the best. We actually met Susan and she couldn’t have been nicer. Lisa was our go to person and was extremely responsive when we texted with questions. Literally she responds immediately. The online pictures are very complimentary and accurate however they truly do not due this place justice. I mean that as a compliment in every way. We will be back!

Summer break
The location of the cottage could not be better! Right across the street from access to the beach. Near Kennebunkport for day trips. Communication with owner was excellent! Definitely will be back

Disgusting
After a 12 hour car ride, arriving at 5pm, the place was not ready. The owners sister and her friend were in the place , told me I had to move boxes if I wanted to use the second bedroom. Said they were "finishing up for the cleaner". The place was dirty, linens were gross, used facecloths and toothbrushes left behind. The family has another home nearby which they monitored us from. The parking space got flooded and unusable, neighbors mad we were there using it. We had to clean to make it bearable. And now, they are trying to charge and extra $500 without any discussion because they said we "stained the sink". Unreal. stay away. I've never had a bad experience with VRBO before this. This place is not presented accurately and the owners pretend they get it cleaned.

This is alarming to read. First, when I greeted Kathleen, as I was amply restocking the supplies, her first words were "this place is beautiful". We had just opened for the season after installing brand new LTV plank flooring which is perfect for the pet friendly cozy cottage - A rare find across the street from a 2 mile stretch of beach to walk your pet. We also set up a new bunk with twin on top and double on the bottom for added comfort and a queen size bed (which was previously a double). The entire cottage has been freshly painted, new chairs and pullout couch. Last year we installed new blinds and a washer/dryer. Please read the 46 reviews that have consistently rated our cottage as excellent, like the cleanliness, and would return. Kind regards one of the two sisters and proud owner. Please check us out for yourself - the view is spectacular!

Location!!! You can’t beat it.
Perfect location and excellent property manager! Lisa is responsive and kind. Ocean views from the front door and windows. Fall asleep listening to the waves. We were fortunate enough to watch the full moon rise. Cottage was fully stocked. Nice linens and plenty of towels. Comfy bed. My two teens spent time everyday looking for hermit crabs in tide pools. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Stay!
We had a great sisters weekend at Fortunes Rocks --beautiful walks, stunning vistas, amazing beach, and such close access to Kennebunkport. The general store provided everything that we needed and the sound of the waves at night was magic. It was crystal clean and extremely well stocked :). We will return I hope!

Cottage w/ Million Dollar View
Our first two days were clear and warm and sunny. The cottage was more than I expected, and the view was worth a million dollars - front row seat unimpeded view to the pristine Fortune Rock Beach clear water and surfers catching waves.

Great ocean view
This adorable little house has a great unobstructed view of the ocean. The bedding is thin and cotton (suited for summer), and we were there in the winter, so we did need to use the space heaters provided. The kitchen is a good size and has the essential equipment to do basic cooking. The bedrooms are teeny tiny and there’s not room for much luggage. While there might technically be enough bed space for five people, it would be very difficult for more than three people to fit. The bathroom has a washer and dryer which was great. The shower is very small, so a larger or taller person might struggle to fit. The linoleum flooring is strangely wrinkled in several places which was a bit of a trip hazard, but not a big deal. The house overall is snug, so as long as you’re prepared for that, you’ll be fine!

Great location, perfect little place!
Fantastic off-season cottage with great views and sounds of Fortune's Rocks Beach. Property manager was fantastic and responsive to my questions. Cottage had everything I needed, including that nice little front porch for morning coffee and watching the sunsets.

Weekend respite
My husband and I enjoyed coffee and view in bistro chairs on small landing. Would have been nice if big enough for a couple more chairs (either side). Easy access to lovely beach. Was a great home base for our trip. Quiet area. Appreciate Fido could come with us. Cheery beach blue color scheme. Responsive host. Would like to go back.

Fortune Rocks beach trip
My family had a great time at this property. Great location in front of Fortune Rocks beach. Probably the best beach in southern Maine. My only complaint is that there were a lot of mosquitoes. Not sure if that’s due to the pond next to the property.

Work & play
Prefect location! My husband and I grew up on this beach. We were married just down the road, almost 17 years ago. It was the best way to end a long work day - with the AMAZING view!!! Our kids & dogs enjoyed the daily beach walks. Can't wait to return, for a longer stay.

Beautiful Spring Week in Maine
This is a charming little cottage in an amazing location. At low tide you can walk 2 miles on perfect beach. Our only disappointment was that many local businesses were still closed for the winter. Our fault for not checking that the first weekend in May is when things open back up.

Exactly what the doctor ordered. We enjoyed an early spring weekend on Fortune's Rocks beach with our two daughters. The Sea Cottage was beautiful and peaceful with amazing waterfront sights and sounds. Can't wait to visit again soon.

Wonderful stay!
The property is beautiful. The photos actually don't do the property justice. I was familiar with fortune's rocks beach before renting and was looking for a property that was waterfront. While this property was across the street you could see and hear the ocean from all of the shared spaces in the house. The ocean was literally across the street. We were about a 20 minute drive from amazing food in portland and just about a 7 minute drive from tons of new and upcoming food spots in biddeford and saco! The house was comfortable - the queen bed was super comfortable and the couch and other living room area furniture super comfrotable the kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. the house comes with beach chairs which were an excellent addition and a picnic table right out front to have lunch/dinner at while watching/listening to the ocean. we didn't use the gas grill but it was available! check in was super easy. the house is in a super safe location. Lisa, the property manager, was excellent at being in touch, super acocmmodating with our weird travel an check-in and out times. we're so thankful to have been able to stay at this place and are already planning our next stay! thanks so much!

Great location & fantastic view!
The location and the view of the beach were wonderful. It is worth waking up early to see the sunrise over the ocean. The cottage was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The island seating in the kitchen was convenient for food prep, eating and playing games in the evening. All of the beds were comfortable. The check in process was easy. The host was very detailed in her communication and information provided to ensure we could make the most of our stay. Overall we had a great trip and enjoyed our visit.

Just what we needed!!
My husband wanted to be at the beach and see the ocean one more time (he was diagnosed 8 months ago with stage 4 brain cancer) and with COVID - we needed a clean, safe place to be. The cottage was PERFECT!! Cozy, beautiful views (and sounds) of the ocean. The property was clean and “cottage like” just as we hoped!

Beautiful extended weekend

Great Little cottage sits up high for ocean views!
We had a great time here, our kids wanted to be at the beach constantly so this was the ideal spot, as we only needed to bring a few towels and toys a 100ft or so and they had a blast. Access to the beach was easy, but of course the kids wanted to climb the rocks right in front so you can do that too. We lived in Maine all our lives and moved to Arizona last year...so a visit to family this fall meant staying near the ocean as we have none in AZ. Perfect solution ). The worst part is we are hooked on Starbucks coffee (and Dunkin’ is close 2nd) and it’s nearly 25 min ride to the closest one. We knew that going in though lol! Beds were comfortable and bunks were perfect for the kids. You have to make your own because of these COVID times, but it’s a minor inconvenience. The washer and dryer are very handy. I had to sleep on the pullout couch because I’m a snorer married to a light sleeper....so the only negative was probably the springs poking through the pullout mattress and the process of opening and closing it each day. To be fair though I haven’t yet slept on a pullout couch I can rave about lol! We watched some family movies, games and had a great time. Communication was great. Our stay was great. We had a vacation to remember.)

Cute little cottage in dream location
We loved our stay in this adorable cottage right across from beautiful Fortune's Rock beach. It was clean and comfortable with amazing views. It was wonderful to see and hear the ocean. Perfect for a couple and our dog. Any more people and I think it would feel too cramped. Beds were not very comfortable but that is only con. Would highly recommend!

the pictures do not do it justice.
I live nearby and knew exactly where the cottage was before our week here. The outside is deceiving and I was concerned I wouldn't have "great" views of the ocean. I could not have been more wrong. The view, the ease to getting to the ocean and the simplicity of just coming in for lunch or a sun break was perfect. From my sister who does not live near the ocean: "This was a wonderful experience and the upkeep of the interior was superb. " Thank you so much and I would recommend this for anybody who wants a nice quiet ocean getaway.

Lovely Stay at Fortunes Rocks Beach
The Sea Cottage at Fortunes Rocks was perfect for my family of 4 and our dog. We had a wonderful 1-week stay. The cottage is on the beautiful beach, so we enjoying swimming, boogie boarding, and walking on the beach. Our dog enjoyed walks on the beach too (before 9am and after 5pm). We got to Biddeford Pool, Kennebunkport, Portland and Freeport, which are all close by. The cottage was clean enough on our arrival, though a sock and toy that previous guests had left behind were still on the bedroom floors when we got to the cottage.

Location!!!
Amazing spot of this little cottage! A winter storm raged for a couple of days and watching the majesty of the ocean through the windows was quite a treat - not to mention sunrises on the calm mornings. Decently appointed with what you need, nothing fancy, a bit quirky (huge trash/recycling containers and bags that don’t fit and fall down into the trash), not completely prepared for snowy months - no shovel/plow, no extra blankets, hallway lightbulb is burnt out, pendant light doesn’t have dim-able bulb and crazily flickers if not on bright, thermostat/computer wasn’t set up for our visit but was addressed within 12 hours of my asking about it. Super high cleaning cost for such a tiny place which seems off - had to slide a dresser to the side and found someone’s makeup brush, did a quick check under the bed when leaving and found someone’s Kleenex, cobweb ima corner with a live spider (which I don’t mind because I love what spiders do for our planet - but the pricey cleaning cost would say every corner, nook and cranny has been scrubbed). So - location and cottage charm make this a FABULOUS stay despite the cleaning cost and lack of attention to a few detais for a 4 night winter stay.

location is everything
We love being able to sit on the steps or on the couch in the living room and see and hear the ocean! The beach is also quiet in September. The house is small, but we will keep coming back as we love the location.

Great beach cottage
Wonderful little cottage stocked with plenty of towels and linens. Of course the highlight is the location right on a long sandy stretch of beach. Perfect for castle building or long walks.
