Short stay
This guest house was really great value. We stayed for two nights in September. It was a bit chilly outside in the evening and came back after dinner to a warm and peaceful room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. The host was very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay again.

Verblijf mag schoner incl. afzuigpunt in badkamer en tja....kitten van de badkamer was super slecht. Richard was best aardig en vriendelijk maar vreemd blijft wel dat je 's morgens zélf naar de supermarkt moet om je broodje te halen met beleg terwijl ontbijt in de prijs zit, schijnt meeneem ontbijt te zijn.....verder doodsaai dorpje

The hotel was lovely. It was clean and tidy. The rooms had everything you needed for a 2 night stay. Richard was polite, friendly and greeted us with a smile. It was in the perfect location to travel to all the local area. I would recommend the hotel with no hesitation.

We had a great stay in the upstairs room with the bay windows. Richard, the host, was very accommodating and friendly. The water pressure wasn't great, but we just adjusted the time to allow for a longer shower. Everything else was great; and you can't find a better location to the train station! Breakfast was simple and good. Overall, a very nice value.

When we checked in, it was probably an attic conversion. No Windows apart from roof top ones. Bath was smelling awful. Probabaly the room was not ventillated probably. We got in touch with the manager to change the room but as i we have booked through hotel.com he said this is what it is and it was fully booked and he cant help it.Mnager was not very helpful. Breakfast takeaway was not good at all. we would like to have a hot breakfast at the premises. On our second day of the stay we did not take any break fast away. As we requested the room to be cleaned and it was done. we were happy. overall the whole house was smelly ,no fresh air or ventilation the time we stepped in. Would not recommend for any one to stay their again.Very uncofortable for us, not a very pleasant stay and a good experience for us.

all we ask are reviews to be truthful and a true reflection of the guesthouse and service this is neither if you would like a room with views of the mountains then book a room with views of the mountains we are unable to make any changes to bookings made trough Expedia if you would like a cooked breakfast then book a guesthouse that provides a cooked breakfast but there are many cafes in town where you can get a cooked breakfast and use your breakfast bag as your lunch and as you booked our budget attic room you only paid 31.50 a night each but if a cooked breakfast provided on site is something important to you then next time book a guesthouse that provides this as for the comments about a smell that's just rubbish just look at any of our other reviews

Good place to stay.
Welcoming host, great service throughout our stay. Room OK size, good comfort. Great location, ample parking. Grab’n’go breakfast is not uncommon shortly after Covid.

Such a lovely stay!!! Strategic position if you intend to visit Snowdonia, with easy parking and a supermarket at 2min walking distance. Richard is very kind and knowledgeable about the area! Bonus points for the breakfast area where there's a microwave and cutlery available to use for dinner/late snack ordered in or bought from the coop. 👍 Even the breakfast was really nice! Definitely recommended :)

Perfect for exploring
Nice guesthouse perfect for exploring the North of Wales. The village was quite and a lot was closed up, however the owner of the guesthouse was very helpful with suggestions for places to eat etc. The guesthouse was clean and warm with a comfortable bed that’s all we needed after our adventures out & about. Enjoyable stay at the Issalt .

Nice location

Lovely host and bnb!
A lovely bnb and Richard was an excellent host! He helped me find a good spot for me to park my motorcycle and was willing to move his vehicles if need be. He has excellent knowledge of the area and prompted me to go explore Cwmorthin village nearby when I arrived - definitely a must-do! An excellent 7-mile round trip (approximately 3 hours of walking). He drew a map and gave good directions. The room is very comfortable and easy to heat up with the electric heater. The bathroom has a lovely electric shower. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly and supplies are replenished. Breakfast is a packed option which is incredibly handy and meant I had plenty of flexibility in terms of leaving as early as I would like. Plenty of parking for cars available and it's very close to the attractions. There's also a convenience store across the road for any picnic food etc. Covid-19 cleanliness etc was taken seriously and was reassuring to see. There is also a bookshelf with board games which is nice - I read a book from there during my stay. The town is convenient for all parts of Snowdonia national park and I was able to explore the area quite comfortably over two days. Plenty to see and do if you are an intrepid explorer such as myself! Take good walking boots and waterproofs and you're golden.

Home is very decent, clean and professional and extremely friendly Owner. I did not give full happy face only because weather was well, British Summer style. And most of shops sites closing around 17. Thanks to recent political/medical situation it wasn't easy to get literally anywhere without Booking. The Place I will give 8 out of 10. Highly recommend.

Isallt Guest House
We stayed at Isallt Guest House for 6 nights to explore North Wales. We were greated on arrival by Richard Hope, he was friendly and welcoming. It was great to be able to ask a local where the best beaches were. Richard also provided a fantastic evening meal, the food was delicious, you could tell Richard was an experienced chef, no surprise to learn he had previously worThe room was spotless and cleaned daily between 11 and 1. The room had comfortable beds, good facilities with ample storage, a fridge, microwave and hairdryer. Towels were changed as required a sign was clearly displayed in bathroom to explain system. This beautiful Victorian building is situated at the Blaenau Ffestiniog rail station, central location for the many attractions such as the zip world slate mine, beaches, portmerion etc. The village has convenience stores, bakers and selection of takeaway restaurants.

Average experience, can't say it was a very comfortable stay, room clean but had an awful old smell to it, and the breakfast that was included was nothing but a 35 pence orange juice and a 2 for 1 pound muffins with a banana and a belvita,not really the full English breakfast you would expect.

Thank you for your review and feedback on your stay, we haven't had any comments on smells in the rooms before the only thing i can think of is that the new cleaning products for the control of covid are not as perfumed and are more disinfectant as our usual products, we are not providing cooked breakfast as we take the covid threat and the protection of our customers and staff very seriously and it would be very difficult to control the risk at a busy breakfast with lots of people in communal areas so we are providing a takeaway baged breakfast consisting of fruit juice, yogurt, muffin breakfast bar and fresh fruit, using recyclable or compostable containers and utensils. i hope this has explained the reasoning behind your concerns it is a shame you didnt raise your concerns at the time as i could have gone through them with you in person

We had a lovely two night stay here. A bargain if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep followed by a good breakfast. Richard was very friendly and helpful, the room was simple but had everything you need, the shower was hot and the breakfast was good. We would stay here again.

our room was a bit run down. we stayed for four nights. i got rid of 5 spiders and cobwebs when i arrived. the bed by the window has a lump in the slats of the pine bed which was uncomfortable.The breakfast was cooked in the same black pan every day as we had to scrape off the black charcol off the food daily. Other than that Richard was over friendly and i am a shy kind of person so that didnt help he said is it a secret when i didnt reel off all our days activities. The staff were lovely and all including Richard were helpful and you can see they were out to help make your stay a nice one.

Great all round guest house
Good location for snowdon... about a 40 min easy drive away. Great welcoming; lots of advice about the area and what to do ... breakfast was great... free parking .... but there is ample parking on the road if the car park is full. Had everything we needed. Rooms were checked every day... sheets changed; towels. It was a little dated but that didn’t affect the overall experience... lovely 😊 not sure I would climb Snowdon again though

Isallt Guesthouse
Really enjoyed my stay at Isallt Guesthouse. Was greeted by Richard who carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs for me. They do a lovely full English breakfast. Barbara was very friendly and chatted to all the guests each morning whilst serving breakfast. Richard also came and spoke to all the guests after cooking then food. Both gave good tips on where to go. Great location in Blenau Festiniog near shops, restaurant and train station. Will definitely stay here again. Nice comfy double bed, separate shower and toilet. Tea/Coffee/hot chocolate machine and free bottles of water. Many thanks.

This was our first experience of a guest house in Wales and we were not disappointed. Richard and Anne were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We did not get to meet Barbara, (Richards wife), but I am sure she is as pleasant also. Our room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The Tassimo machine is a must for chocolate lovers but also has tea and coffee available.The guest house also has an excellent cafe on premises and I can assure you the home made chocolate brownies melt in the mouth. The Blaenau Ffestiniog heritage railway is less than two minutes away across the bridge from the Guest house car park. Breakfast was served by Anne, a very pleasant lady with a great sense of humour and dedication to work. It is an easy check-in through the cafe and our host Richard gave us a guided tour and supplied the information we required. For evening meals the Quarryman is next door and can also be recommended. Overall it was a very pleasant stay among very pleasant people and I will be recommending the Isallt Guest House to friends and family

Great stay at Isallt Guest House! Richard and Ann ( unfortunately didn’t get to meet Barbara) were fantastic - very accommodating, attentive, friendly and helpful with directions or things to do. Breakfast was great 👍 Good spread for a hearty breakfast or light if you preferred! Certainly kept us going for most of the day!
