Thomson's Getaway
Overall we were very pleased with the holiday at the Blind Bay Hideaway including the location, cleanliness, amenities, kitchen supplies, bedding, furnishings, A/C, dock and beach, and parking spots. It was our first time and we will look into booking next year but would prefer a cabin at the lower level. Being seniors with our small grandkids, it was impossible to negotiate walking and down the steep access road to go the the beach; however, other than that, we have no complaints. Thank you for a lovely stay. The Thomson Family

Great stay!
Great property. We had 2 nights and enjoyed the fire near the trees. Beautiful stars and the sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. Close to grocery store. Would stay again easily.

Fabulous lodging, swimming ok
This hideaway unit was lovely. The #4 building seemed almost brand new, was modern and had everything we needed. An air conditioning unit was included in the main living space that was desperately needed during very hot few days. The property manager was terrific and even had the unit prepped for us a little before normal check in time because we were arriving early. For our young family who were looking for “beach time” the Shuswap area isn’t well suited as the lake shore is generally very rocky. This property has put in effort to make it more comfortable with a floating dock with picnic tables and a floating trampoline, but the shoreline was not comfortable for hanging out with kids. One other drawback to the accommodation, and the area in general, is that the road runs between the houses and water so must be crossed to get to the lake. While the #4 unit was fabulous, for our family purposes, it might be useful to note that the location at the top of the property up a steep incline can be tiresome and challenging for mobility issues. Additionally the unit, and the bbq and sitting area are in direct sun all afternoon as there is very little shade and in the 30+ temperatures was uncomfortable, however would have been lovely on cooler days. The hot tub and fire pit areas looked nice but we’re not usable during this hot period. Access to the trails behind were up a steep hill but convenient and the trail had some nice views. Overall I would give this property 5 stars for how nice the accommodation is and how good the property management is, but the overall rating is 4 stars as the lake access and ‘lounging ability’ were not suited for our family.

Place was great!
Would have given 5 star had it had AC as the place didn't cool off at night enough for my liking. Unfortunately with the water so high we could not access the dock without swimming and the beach was covered but this was no fault of the owners. Place was super clean and easy to get ahold of the manager with questions

Hello Erika, Thank you for your feedback and have put a portable A/C unit in the cabin to help cool it down on the very hot days. And yes the water is abnormally high for this time of year. Please come again and will make sure you get a unit with A/C :)

Amazing place to stay!
We had a lovely time at the Blind Bay Hideaway! The cabin was very clean and comfortable and the property was stunning. Victoria was a great host, we'd love to come back next time we are booking a trip to Shuswap!

Beautiful Getaway
Property and view was amazing. Victoria was super accommodating and the listing was as described. If I had to leave a negative comment, it would be that there could be more kitchen items (ie. Kettle) available in the cabin as we could not find some, but also we might not have looked everywhere. Looking forward to coming back and seeing some of the other cabins!

Hello Susan, The hot tub was balanced and spotless before you used it. You were the only one using it as the other cabins were empty. Like I had told you, you will need to shower before going in, because lotions etc.. on your body will alter the balance along with the fact you wore shorts and a shirt in there, which the soap residue from your clothes also disrupts the balance. And you as well would not stop putting the temperature from 100 down to 59 degrees, again alters the proper function of the hot tub. Both myself and a staff member were over there several times to clean and balance the tub for you, because you would not follow our directions. You are not welcome back !!

Super comfortable getaway
We loved the location and the space between cabins. We were able to easily access hiking trails and the lake, and preferred our spot at the top of the hill as it was quiet. The cabin was beautiful and very clean - very well appointed for a restful and enjoyable stay.

Great spot
This place is great. Very nice layout and very clean. Perfect for a family, a few friends or 2 couples . Glassware is lacking and couldnt locate a veggie peeler. Overall.... terrific place by the lake.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay :) Welcome back anytime. And I'm on it...more glasses and a vegie peeler. Sorry sometimes don't realize these things are missing unless brought to my attention.

Summer trip
Very clean which was great during COVID. Nice and close to the beach and had a grocery store just down the road. The only thing we found was a down fall was the rocks for the patio area. Must have shoes on as it is very hard on the feet.

Great time, big hill
I didn't research the property, but booked it quickly for a last minute family reunion. We were at the very top of the property with fantastic views, natural gas BBQ and great weather. I didn't realize the cabin was at the top of a giant hill (my fault) and we only went to the beach once. Great property and owner contact. Would go again but book a lower level property

Great Host & Beautiful Interiors
Victoria was so amazing at always answering my questions and keeping in constant contact prior to us staying with her. My husband and I got married in the Shuswap and we wanted to make sure our bridal party all had places to stay. Blind Bay Hideaway actually was the place that some of my bridesmaids and my parents stayed, and what a beautiful location it was! Not only was it easy to find and check-in, but it was also great to have a location so close to some of the major Blind Bay attractions (the beach, Finz, and our venue Blind Bay Hall!). Thank you Victoria for all your help!

If you are looking for a place with a lake view, the only one here is if you are standing inside by the couch looking out. You can not sit outside it is to hot there is no shade. There chairs are broken. Your view is the back of the cabin in front of you. The hot tub was out of order. For what we paid l was not impressed.

Wow Jan, fair enough you aren’t happy (some people never are) but at least Be fair in your review because there is some untruths in there. First of all we are in a heat wave, so pretty hot anywhere. Secondly there is 9ft rectangular umbrella on your deck area , that tilts for shade on a table to sit at where you can view the lake between the other cabins below you. Cabin 4 is the last one on the property and the cabins are staggered so you aren’t looking at a wall of places in front of you. As for the broken chairs, they were stored beside the cabin Up side down until they could Be disposed of, if you chose to pull them out and use broken chairs then I’m not sure what to say. There were two perfectly good wooden aderandic chairs provided in there place for your use. The hot tub was out of order as I was waiting for the repair guy to come from Kamloops which cost me $1000 to get him there with in two days ... to pull bottle caps and glow sticks out of the motor , so again not fair representation.. I went above and beyond to get it repaired in a timely fashion. I am always accessible for any complaints or things my guests might need. Not once did I hear from you. Victoria

Great host!
I booked 4 cabins for guest at our wedding August long. Victoria was an amazing host and the cabins were beautiful. Would highly recommend them to anyone- family or friend gatherings

Definitely Coming Back...
Brought my 2 kids for a short getaway vacation and they loved every minute of it. Property and location were perfect, lake was a very short walk to and lots of forested area behind us. Unit was clean and very well equipped. Will be coming back for sure but for a longer stay next time.

Awesome cabin, great location. Only thing was the property is very steep (for the upper cabin) which was fine for us but definitely something to be aware of if you have mobility issues walkung up and down lots of stairs or steep inclines down the the waters edge.

Had an awesome stay.
Cabin was nicely situated at the top of the hill alongside the woods and close to firepit , hot tub and short walk to lake. Had all the amenities you would want and some for a short term rental. Thanks to Victoria and staff for a great stay and look forward to seeing you in the future.

Clean & modern at the top of a hill!
Property is modern, clean and very functional for a group. Ample towels, bedding and kitchen gear is provided. The cots are not suitable for adults (very uncomfortable), so bring an air mattress to use instead. This cabin is at the top of a very high, steep hill, so prepare yourself for lots of walking to reach the water. There is a forest directly behind the cabin, with walking paths, which was really nice for hikes and time in my hammock. Even though there are many cabins on the property, they were laid out with privacy in mind. The dock and buoys were great, and so was the water trampoline. Firepit at the water's edge was great, we used it several times. Great location - 5minute walk to grocery and liquor store, and great location for boating as well.
