Felt like home
Our family felt right at home in this cozy house. We especially loved and appreciated the lake access, our canoe ride to the swimming area, the screened-in porch with soothing chimes, and well stocked kitchen! We had everything we needed for a fun family vacation with our adult children. We boated in the sun all day, and played board games at the table every evening. Made for lasting memories for sure.

Nice lakefront rental
We rented this house and another just down the street for a family reunion. This house was very comfortable and it was very nice to hang out in the water and the lawn area. It was very hot the week we were there and so floating in the water was enjoyable. The house was as advertised and all worked well. The washing of the bed linens and towels prior to leaving with a 10:00am checkout was not ideal and I really wish there had been another option. We knew that coming in, but it made for an early morning for all on checkout day. Owner was responsive with any of our needs.

Bracey Lake House
We had a wonderful stay at the lake house. The weather was hot and humid but the lake was a perfect temperature. The dock was very convenient for my boat even though the depth finder showed some areas that got pretty shallow (<3 feet). By the end of the week, I discovered what areas to avoid (forewarned about stumps). There is a semi-private boat ramp about 2 blocks away that is small but worked well to launch and retrieve my 17 foot bowrider. The creek where the house resides leads to Lake Gaston with about a 5 minute boat ride. If you wanted a break from the lake, there is a club house pool at the golf course entrance, that for a small fee, we enjoyed for a day. We didn't bring our clubs but the golf course looked nice. Some things to consider or suggestions: Bring your groceries. There are grocery stores but they are about 20 miles away. If you like to watch TV, there is only 1 on the 2nd floor. I know its vacation - but there are no TVs besides 1. Thankfully we brought an iPad to catch up on the news before bed. Also the Wi-Fi doesn't extend to the dock. Meaning during the day, streaming music over a blue tooth speaker was tedious but we figured out a system through trial and error. Other than that, we will definitely be back. It was a perfect 3 hour get-away and the host was very accommodating. We live at the beach but the lake was a welcome change. Thanks for sharing your home.

Relaxation on the lake!

4th of July fun
We had lots of fun! Was amazing how festive the neighbors were with fireworks for the holiday! Dock area was very shallow lots stumps had a bit of issues with the boat we rented due to stumps rocks near dock! Otherwise everything was amazing we enjoyed our stay!!!

Wonderful family vacation
We had a great time at this house for our family vacation. We loved all the amenities, and the house was very clean upon arrival. The host Dawn was always very friendly and gracious in her communication. We were so thankful to have this time together and look forward to returning!

Fun at Lake Gaston
The amenities were great. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed using the canoe, kayak, board games, cds and fire pit. The only complaint is having to wash the sheets and towels before departure. We ended up using our own, because we saw no way to get them all washed before checking out at 10:00 am.

Nice stay
We had a nice stay at Thanksgiving with family - the host Dawn was very accommodating and was fast to answer my questions prior to our stay so we knew what to pack to be able to cook Thanksgiving dinner in the house (for 9 people). The house was a great size to accommodate our group, although the kitchen could use some additional plates/silverware. We loved the kayak and canoe provided - they were great to explore the quiet part of the lake the house is situated on. We had some issues with hot water and the dishwasher not working, but Dawn was quick to get a repairman to the house to address the problem. Overall, it was a nice place to spend a few days over the Thanksgiving holiday with family.

Great family vacation
All enjoyed vacationing on the lake. The dock gave easy access to boats & water & the kayaking was great. There is a nice “park/playground” nearby with sand and shallow water access for the ‘Littles’ . House has large pots & pans for cooking for a crowd.

Family Celebration
We held our family Celebration at the lake house. The pictures are accurate. The view of the lake was amazing. We really had a relaxing time and loved the quiet we had. I highly recommend renting a boat nearby, we loved being able to dock the boat right there at the house

Family vacation-7/10-7/16
The property was nice and fit our family nicely. The open space on the 2nd floor was a nice size and comfortable to relax and play games. We enjoyed the screened in porch. We picked this property because we didn't want stairs going to the water with the kids. The cove was very quite which we also enjoyed. There is a boat ramp/community area in the subdivision but you have to pay extra per day to use. We were not aware of this until we went there to use the ramp. The things that we didn't like about this property is that we all have Verizon and we had no service or 1 bar the whole time. Internet is satellite and we were not able to watch TV it kept buffering. WiFi was super slow so we were pretty much off the grid all week. The dishwasher wasn't working while we were there. The grill didn't work very well. The water at the dock was very shallow. We had to keep reminding the kids that they could not jump off the dock so they would not get hurt. One day someone showed up to pump the septic tank and the homeowner did not let us know they were coming. The next day someone came to mow the grass, again we did not know. We had our chairs, kayaks, etc in the yard. He was nice and said he would come back after we checked out. We knew ahead of time that we had to wash all linens prior to checkout. We washed the towels the night before but it was definitely a struggle to get all sheets washed and dried by checkout. Communication could have been better.

Serene & Relaxing
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house was laid out perfectly for our large family gathering of 12 with all the common areas on the middle level. The screened back deck with hammock and gorgeous view of the lake was my favorite place to relax. We enjoyed using the canoe provided, however did not use the kayak because there was no paddle, only canoe oars. Swimming by the dock was enjoyable because the lake temperature was perfectly cool and it was shallow enough to not be alarming. One of the boards that the ladder hooks onto was broken so my husband tied that side of the ladder to the board underneath to make it safe. The beach area was very close and has a fun slide in the lake. Dawn is very timely and gracious in her communication. Maintenance was needed (the dishwasher didn't work and the grill was very greasy and didn't work), but the house and location were perfect for us.

Merry Christmas in June
We rent a home as a Christmas gift to our family. This was our second year and second home on Lake Gaston. The home had great space, a beautiful view, could canoe to a beachy park with a slide and the kids loved it, s'mores at the fire pit in the evenings.... Lovely

Relaxing Labor Day weekend
We visited this property with my mom and our daughter/son-in-law. We took up 3 bedrooms and each of us had our own bathroom. While this is 3 floors, the main lounging area is on the 2nd floor. There was plenty of space and we enjoyed the screened porch very much. We launched a pontoon boat around the corner in the Tanglewood ramp and docked at this property. The water near the dock is quite shallow - we saw a boat inadvertently beached and had to be towed. Other than that, the views were beautiful and our stay was quite relaxing.

Great Laid-back Vacation Spot
We experienced great communication from start to finish with the host. The home was smartly modernized and clean and as well as extremely well stocked with essentials. As we were vacationing with our dog and children, we were very pleased with all the safety information and mechanisms in place, including accessible fire extinguishers and contact information for the local hospital and vet. Overall, we had a great experience!

Fun at the Lake
The host was very responsive to any questions we had throughout the stay. We enjoyed fishing, canoeing and swimming right off the back dock and making s'mores by the fire pit. Just a short walk away is the beach area- where the kids had a great time on the slide . We also made use of the community pool on the very hot days. The house was spacious and accommodating for everyone.

Wonderful Property/Memorable Vacation
We just returned from a week at Dawn's lake house. The house is clean and has everything you need! There are plenty of bathrooms, sofas, seats, etc.... The kitchen is well appointed. We fished, floated, paddle boarded, kayaked and played games daily!! The availability of the kayak and canoe was a big plus and then renting the paddle boards directly from Dawn allowed us to spend lots of time on the water exploring the coves of Poplar Creek. The location and neighborhood amenities are also nice. My husband played 9 holes of golf most mornings. The screened porch was a favorite hang out spot for dinner and games in the evenings. Dawn was very responsive to questions before our trip and was very accommodating! Lake life is wonderful! We can't wait to return!

Wonderful lake home
Wonderful home on the lake! The view and lake access was incredible. Plenty of space for our family with grandparents. Great area for visiting, meals and separate sleeping areas. Furnishings were nice and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for everything we needed to fix meals. Screened deck was a cool place to hang out and play games at the table. Easy walk down the yard to the lake. Boat access, it was just a couple of streets away to launch. Took less time to get boat to dock than car parked back at house! We enjoyed a trip to Rosement Winery and a little shopping trip into South Hill. This is definitely a great place to stay and we look forward to our next visit. Communication on rental was quick, responsive and flexible with check in time.

Arguably one of the best experience we've had thus far at a Lakehouse!
I had planned a weekend trip for my boyfriends birthday in which he had his parents fly in from San Diego. Dawn was so accommodating to allow a slight early check in as we had arrive a tad early. She also gave very clear instructions as to how everything function and amenities that were within close proximity in her user guide book. It was very organized and she checked in on us to see if we needed anything else additional to maximize our experience. She txted us ongoing events happening within the community for the 4th of July weekend. I was thoroughly impressed how clean the place was. There was ample amount of space with 4 bathrooms which was one of the highlights of my trip. Plenty of towels, soaps and shampoos were provided. I also loved how neat and tidy the living room was. The kitchen was giant and I was really able to function well cooking up meals for the family. The outdoor deck where you may eat your meals is well protected by a screen so you avoid insects and protect you from mosquitos in the evening. I love the set up where you can have a bbq and the family can enjoy dinner outside on the deck. I couldn't ask for a better layout. She has a kayak and canoe that you can use for a nice serene paddle out in the mornings. The waters are really serene and we did a lot of swimming as well. You can also use the fire pit at night to marsh mellow smores. Overall, the LakeHouse was the one of the best experiences I've ever had thus far. You won't regret booking a week/weekend out here for your and the family. Even a quick romantic getaway is nice too. My bf's dad took gorgeous scenic photos of us and it was captivating. I'm generally use too smaller bungalow style lakehouse but this one was massive with enough space for everyone to enjoy and have their privacy. Dawn is a great host and always attentive to your needs should you have any questions. You surely won't regret it! I will definitely come back!

Great place
Place is great and Dawn was awesome! Just as it is presented and better. Spent the whole weekend on the screened porch. Great views and house was spectacular. Would recommend 10/10 times.
