My sister and I stayed here as a halfway point for both of us to hang out and celebrate her birthday. We arrived to find a Happy Birthday sign in the front yard, as well as a birthday-themed table runner and cake stand with a beautiful little birthday cake on it waiting for us in the kitchen! Not only were these initial impressions far above our expectations, but the property is either exactly as it is listed - or BETTER.
The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Lots of space to unpack, spread out, and get comfortable.
The kitchen is super well-equipped. Truly! And as someone who has had to travel quite a bit with a child in a competitive sport, this was a wonderful surprise. Dish soap, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, decent knives, cutting boards, etc. It's all there!
The bathroom is clean, well-equipped, and has everything you need, including extra towels for messes should you need them.
The living area was spacious and consisted of a game area as well as a television and seating area, perfect for families who have a variety of ways of passing time together to spread out and enjoy the water that is just outside the windowed space.
The back deck is right at the river's edge. We were there while it was really cold (it snowed two of the days!), so we used the fire pit and the snuggly blankets provided in order to enjoy our time on the deck. A highlight of our stay was taking our coffee out to sit and watch/listen to the water.
Our first night there, we discovered that the HDMI cable that connects the DVD player to the television was missing, so I called the property manager the next morning and she brought one over for us. We loved hanging out and watching movies at night, so that was super awesome considering someone before us likely took the cable by mistake and they had no way of knowing it had gone missing before we arrived.
The house is on a small, residential street right beside the river, so it was very quiet and calm for our afternoon walk when the weather allowed. We were thrilled with our visit and are already talking about our next 'sister staycation' there. We aren't into fishing, but this property is probably even more amazing for those travelers who are! We loved it here!
