Close to Lichfield and National Arboretum, Nice village, good hotel and food. Comfortable room overlooking courtyard, pillows a bit hard!.

Short but Sweet

Very nice pub with B&B rooms that are separate from bar areas, so nice & quiet. Ate dinner in restaurant - very nice. Breakfast was superb. Staff were friendly & helpful. The only negatives for me was that there was no bath, only a shower, and that the large window overlooked the courtyard beer garden but there were no nets or blinds at window for privacy. So spent a lot of time with drapes shut & light on, which was weird. But all-in-all I give it a 8 out 10. Plus we visit the nearby National Memorial Arboretum which was truly breathtaking.

Quality with traditional relaxation

Business or leisure trip the Shoulder of mutton delivers.If you are looking for a traditional pub with character,good food,friendly staff then this is a must.The rooms are comfortable and clean ,and all shampoo ,body wash etc is supplied.The evening bar food is excellent value .More importantly the breakfast is served fresh and not on hot plates for hours. great beer garden and also table and chairs out front to enjoy the british sunshine (When its out).Free wifi , extremely well priced , ample parking , and great selection of beers. Overall great staff,landlord,Its a must .

The hotel is in a good location in the village, easy to find and plenty of free parking on site. Rooms tidy, clean linen and nice en-suite shower. Always nice to have a traditional pub attached to the hotel. Public bar quite busy, good atmosphere but sports bar leaves a bit to be desired. Staff really friendly and helpful. Great breakfast.

Great

I stayed at this place for business reasons. Having the choice between a Holiday Inn and this place, I took this place and I wasn't disappointed. The food was nice and the rooms were in good order.
