Lovely, comfortable room. Very disappointed to be told food order had to be in by 6.25pm as kitchen closed at 6.30pm. Couldn’t make it until 7pm so I had to go out and find somewhere else to eat.

Good pub with rooms
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was basic but very clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced including an excellent breakfast. We had a very good stay.

Fantastic staff and service,I couldn’t fault a thing, steak and ale pie one of the best, and I have eaten some pies !

The Red Lion
The Red Lion is a beautiful pub. Everything about our stay was delightful. The staff are exceptionally nice and helpful. The only downside is the car park is very full at lunchtime and evening dinner, a testament to the lovely food they serve I guess, also there is nowhere to sit other than on stools at the bar if you just want a drink. We would have no hesitation staying here again.

A teapot in the room says it all! Attention to detail and staff friendliness made my stay really enjoyable. Food awesome. Reasonable charges. On 480 bus route that goes to Bolton and Bury. Great dog walks: Holcombe hill and Peel tower and the Jumbles. We had a good time! Thank you

Spacious room, lovely food
Lovely hotel - family room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Bar downstairs was dog friendly too! Breakfast was beautiful with lots of choice. Only thing I wasn’t aware of on booking was a £15 fee for the dog on top of our bill. This wasn’t in the pricing information that I could see on the website.

Great friendly staff, very welcoming in all departments, especially the Housekeeper. Lovely food and cosy little bar. Defo recommend. Lovely green area and walks to enjoy.

For the standard of the room the cost £250.00 was very very expensive, The room was a basic double room and was overpriced by at least £125.00. If it hadnt been an emergancy l would not have stayed and will certainty not do so again.

What a great discovery this was. We wanted to stay in Manchester but due to the exorbitant costs chose the Red Lion instead. What a discovery. Fantastic food, great service and really well kept ale. It’s also a short time into Manchester, and also on the doorstep of the Pennines if you wish to go into the countryside.

Happy return customer
As good as the last time I stayed. The staff are all so welcoming and obliging. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The kitchen produce excellent food. This time a steak and ale pie to die for.
