Unfortunately this was only place that had available rooms and I know why. There was no window in my room and the smell of paint was almost unbearable in the room I had to have the aircon to circulate some air in the room. You also have to wait for like 2mins for warm water..

Hi Peter,I am very sorry to hear that you weren't happy with your room. We do have a very new wing that has not long been completed, so i assume you were in one of our new rooms. unfortunately there's not a lot we can do about fresh pain smell, that needs to go on its own over time, although none of us have had any other complaint's about over bearing paint smell before. we have put fresheners in all of the rooms that we can usually smell upon entering. The windows cant be changed due to the Heritage of the building, and the a/c works perfectly to circulate. Was there any time that you came and notified staff of your concerns, as we would have been more than happy to help you, by changing your room or seeing what else we could have done to make your stay more enjoyable. Hopefully we can see you in the future :)

If you like quaint older style hotels (very elaborate bannisters, old world charm, etc) like I do, this is it. Private bathroom fully renovated. I’ll be back again.

The room was clean and had been beautifully renovated. Although it’s shared bathroom and toilet, they’re clean and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall excellent quality for the price. It’s 15 min drive to Canberra, but if you don’t feel like going out the pub has plenty on with yummy meals. Highly recommend.

At first didn’t quite like the shared bathroom idea. But the bathroom is super clean. Room is clean as well. Nice stay.

Loud party hotel
Very loud karaoke till midnight then drunk people all over the hotel and street making loud noise till 2am... It's not a hotel to have good rest. It's a hotel to party, get drunk and go up in the bedrooms

I am very sorry you felt that way, we do have karaoke on a Thursday night, we here at the hotel have done every thing we can to minimise the noise that travels upstairs, and for the most part it is very quiet. We do hope we get to see you again in the future.

Great place for a quick stay, nice room but there’s not a lot of ventilation so maybe not for everyone. Queanbeyan is nice but the streets around the hotel are a bit strange. Felt safe during the day but a bit off in the evening.

Stayed here as it was close to Fyshwick. Room was comfortable and quiet, meal was excellent, communal shower and toilet was clean and tidy and plenty of hot water. Not a lot of on site parking (was a trivia night in the bar) but plenty once that ended. Would I stay again, definitely

We've stayed here twice, one night stopovers, no complaints. The renovations of bedrooms & bathrooms is tasteful & excellent. Very comfortable room & bed.

Rooms OK. Shared bathrooms are good as can be expected. The bad: Window was sealed shut and room was very stuffy with stale air and stinky old wood, so if you like fresh air, avoid. Noise travels. The guy in the next room yelling on the phone until midnight, and hear every time someones door closes.

was greeted on arrival by the publican was given a complimentary drink, the staff was amazing room was great I cannot fault ti place it made our stay so relaxing everything there was super clean, was a great atmosphere with in the place we would definitely stay again

Affordable overnight stay enroute from Melbourne to Sydney. Although noisey in the bar and restaurant, our room was very quiet up on the 2nd floor. Pleasant stay.

when I used the bathroom, the light came on with a sensor switch. After using the shower, the sensor light turned off, leaving me in total darkness and half dressed. Either the time needs to be extended, the light is not run via sensor, or a separate sensor used in the individual rooms. Aside from that, the hotel was pleasant enough.
