6/10
I was looking for a place for one night prior to heading to the airport. This place was relatively cheap (although not dirt-cheap: I paid $56 for a single room):and near Casa Oasis station (but still 15 mins away on foot along a road with potentially heavy traffic and intermittent sidewalks).
The common areas, inside and outside, are lovely. But my room was in the basement. It was dark, and dank, with old features, and scant and old furniture. The bed was adequate and seemed clean, but the room felt like a prison cell. The nearby bathroom had not been refinished in any way for about 50 years. I am a fairly hardy traveler, and if you are in your 20s and backpacking, you'll manage, too. But the common bathroom facility was in much worse shape than other common bathroom facilities I have experienced in other hostels. I found the condition of the bedroom and bathroom jarringly at odds with the welcoming, oasis-like quality of the common areas.
