Absolute PARADISE!!!
We cannot recommend this villa highly enough!! There are no words to fully describe the beauty of Isola Serena. The main villa & new guesthouses, along with the outdoor spaces, were so thoughtfully and beautifully restored - the property was both luxurious and authentic to Tuscan style. It was easily the most beautiful place we have ever had the opportunity to stay, with views that almost seemed like they couldn't be real! The hosts, Serena and Peter, were so kind and communicative before & during our stay. They provided an extensive list of recommendations - each one we visited was excellent! We especially loved our private dinners @ home with Chefs Andrea & Paola. Raffaella, the property manager, was so kind and showed us around the villa at check in. Both Raffaella and Serena were quickly available for any questions we had throughout our stay. Castellina was a perfect location - we loved driving into town each morning and visiting many of the local restaurants and wineries (which were spectacular). It was also a central location to adventure out to Firenze, Montalcino, and Montepulciano (all within about 1 hour or less). Even in April, we loved lounging by the infinity pool - it was straight out of a magazine! Sunsets were completely picturesque from the upper patio. Every night, we used the smaller pool which was perfectly heated to serve as a hot tub. Thank you SO much, Serena, Peter & Raffaella - you made Castellina feel like home, and we can't wait to return!!

An unforgettable experience.
Our stay at Isola Serena was an unforgettable experience! The villa was very clean and the private gym and infinity pool are fantastic perks, especially after a day of sightseeing to nearby towns, cities, and vineyards, all of which were in great proximity to the villa. The property is perfect for large groups of families or friends, as every bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and there is 1 main house and 2 guesthouses, so everyone could still have some privacy while still being together. It is also very kid-friendly as the villa has a children's playground and sandbox, so the kids kept themselves busy as well as spent time in the large infinity pool and small plunge pool. The owners were excellent and made booking very easy as they answered all of our questions, gave us many great recommendations, and their onsite local property manager, Raffaella, was great and very attentive, showed us around the entire property, and continuously checked in on us throughout the week. Highly recommended Isola Serena for those seeking a luxurious yet cozy retreat with the full Tuscan experience! We will definitely be back again!

Amazing Stay
Isola Serena is just a dream come true for anyone seeking a slice of Italian paradise! We were blown away by the panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside – the pictures just don’t do it justice! We stayed in the guest house, Casa Oliviero, and it has one of the best views overlooking the beautiful large infinity pool and vineyards. The other guesthouse, Casa Matteo, was furnished with Italian style windows and doors that also made it super charming. We spent most of our time relaxing at the villa and the infinity pool was perfect for lounging and soaking up the sun. Our group also loved the location of the villa and how convenient it was to pick up groceries and supplies at the local town, Castellina in Chianti, which has everything that you need, including a great grocery store, restaurants, cafes, shops, gelato, and wine tasting. It was a week we'll never forget, and we can’t wait to be back again with a drink in our hands watching the sunset behind the rolling Tuscan hills every night!

Beautiful villa
The pictures do not do the villa justice. The views from the villa’s terrace, infinity pool deck and splurge pool patio are all amazing…looking over the Tuscan countryside. Spectacular sunsets too. The interior is nicely decorated and perfect for our group of 9 adults. Each bedroom has its own ensuite and all are spacious. The house manager Natalia is very responsive - even to an urgent maintenance issue. We will definitely be back!

Best week ever!
We stayed at Isola Serena for my 50th birthday trip/celebration. There were 3 couples and 3 single women in our group. The property was even more beautiful in person than the beautiful photos you see on the listing. It’s indescribably gorgeous. We loved that every bedroom was en suite. The kitchen was well appointed. Matteo and Natalia provided anything we needed and facilitated a smooth check-in and out process. The Sonos system was awesome! We would play music by the pool and different music in the kitchen. We hired Chef Matisse for 2 dinners. We would defined recommend him. The hikes around the property were a perfect way for us to work off the pasta and wine. The pool was also wonderful for laps or hanging out. The views are unbelievable. The location is perfectly central for visiting all of the adorable and historic towns around Chianti. The beds were comfortable and we woke up every morning rested and ready for a new day of exploring the region. The patio was also a wonderful spot to hang out. We had a few dinners outside, as well. This was literally one of the best weeks of my life and Isola Serena was a key part of it. I cannot wait to go back. I am in love with Italy and in love with this property. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Spectacular views
Fantastic private location lends to day trips to various towns and wineries. The villa is amazing-ample space for dining and relaxing. Breathtaking views both day and night. Sunsets are stunning. Carefree stay was facilitated by the property manager. We felt like we were home.

Large home with beautiful views
Our group had a wonderful stay at Isola Serena. The views are amazing and the house is well stocked with everything needed. The pools are lovely and kids enjoyed swimming. We can’t say enough good things about the house manager, Natalia. She helped us many times with dinner reservations, recommendations and made sure we knew to get groceries as things are closed sundays. She is one of the best managers we’ve encountered in our travels! We highly recommend this house for a big group.

THE Best Family Vacation!
Our stay at Isola Serena was hands down the best family vacation we’ve ever had! The villa is simply perfect- from the incredible views surrounding the property, to the gorgeous infinity pool, to the herb and tomato garden, to relaxing in the heated plunge pool - everything was a dream. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need- and the local grocery store is a short drive away! So many fantastic restaurants nearby to try. Going out for day trips to nearby towns was also straightforward. Coming back to relax and lounge by the pool was the perfect way to end the day! There’s something special about Isola Serena - you simply feel happy and calm once you step foot onto the property. Kudos to Natalia the property manager being so responsive, professional and helpful. For an extra special meal and experience, we highly recommend a private dinner and pasta making class with Paola. Thank you Isola Serena for being the perfect paradise escape for our entire family to enjoy!

What a Way to Relax!
Isola Serena is a hidden gem between Florence and Siena and many other beautiful Tuscan towns and wineries in between. The Villa is very private and immaculate in every respect - lots of space, modern, yet with an old Tuscan farm-like appeal. And the views? Absolutely amazing. Personally, I would look no further if you want a true Tuscany Villa adventure all your own.

Tuscany Divine
What a glorious time we had at this property. We were 5 couples vacationing together and wanted to stay at an upscale property to establish as our home base. Our expectations were exceeded. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable and set up as king beds and all had their own private bath. The kitchen facilities were first rate and the outdoor areas were exquisite. Beautiful scenic views from all directions. There was plenty of room for 10 people so that we can have our private space when needed. The property manager was excellent and made sure all of our needs were met. We hired a private chef for 3 days (recommended by the property management company) and his meals were outstanding and he and his staff had superb customer service skills. Finally, the extra luxury that we were not expecting was a new 20 yard long infinity pool on the property. This was such a benefit for us because 4 individuals in the group swim laps as part of their regular exercise routine and this pool was long enough to give you a good workout. The other 6 individuals were hikers and the property is surrounded by beautiful walking trails for everyone to enjoy. The villa is located in a great location close enough to do day trips (if you have a car) to many beautiful cities (Monteriggiano, San Gimignano, Florence, Volterra, etc.) in the area. If you are thinking of vactioning in Tuscany this is the place to be. If we travel back to the area we will definitely stay here again.

Isola Serena Review
The villa property is more stunning than the pictures indicates. Ensuite bathrooms in every bedroom makes for a great spot with larger groups. The short drive to the centre of Castellina in Chianti and other surrounding Tuscany towns was great. We can't say enough about the pool. Wow! The property manager Natalia was very responsive and was quite helpful in securing drivers and restaurants reservations. We'll be back! Ciao!

Absolutely Incredible.
We had a dream getaway at Isola Serena. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away but the uniquely Italian character and breathtaking Tuscany views, with modern amenities for that extra level of comfort. Each of the six large bedrooms has its own ensuite washroom so no fighting over who gets which room, they’re all great! The kitchen is spacious for cooking large family meals and has a dishwasher to help with quick clean up. Or not into cooking on vacation, the hosts helped organize our own personal chef - what a treat! The large patio and pool looks out on the classic Tuscan view of endless rolling hills of vineyards and olive groves and the large patio table is perfect spot to enjoy a feast with family and friends - everyone will fit! It’s also less then a 10 minute drive into town to pickup fresh food from the market and visit the local shops. From there your in central Tuscany so it’s a quick drive to explore the unique neighbouring towns or go into Siena or even Florence where you can stop in at places like The Mall for some great designer shopping. I can’t say enough about how much our family enjoyed our stay other then, we can’t wait to be back! So many more hidden gems to explore. Thank you Serena and Peter for making our stay one to remember.

DREAM VACATION - Paradise in the heart of Chinati
My stay with my family at Isola Serena, was nothing short of incredible. Our time there was a dream, that will continue to return to us forever. The Hosts Serena and Peter, as well as the Property Manager are lovely people. They were extremely helpful in assisting me with organizing my stay. Everything from getting to and from the villa, chefs, wine tours, activities etc. The villa itself was extremely clean, and welcoming. It truly felt like home. The pictures really do not do this property justice. The views from the terrace and the pool are absolutely breathtaking. So magnificent, that we often felt there was no need to leave the property. However, if we felt like getting out. Castellina in Chianti, is a short 10 minute drive from the villa. This allowed for easy and frequent day trips to markets and gelato for the kids. Everyone had their own space, with large bedrooms and ensuites, it felt like a mini hotel of our own. I can not wait to return! Until Next time! Ciao!

Isola Serena is everything you are looking for.
I was looking for the perfect villa for a memorable vacation with my grown family (8 adults). Isola Serena checked all of the boxes for me. Centrally located in Castellina di Chianti, a great (not too) little town offering great views, restaurants, wine and some shopping. Castellina is the perfect launching point for regional day trips through central Tuscany as we easily traveled to Florence (north), Siena (south), San Gimingnano (west), Montepulciano (SE), and several other quaint smaller towns and wineries in between. The villa is beautiful, everything as advertised, so much space and privacy for everyone - bedrooms/modern bathrooms/appliances/internet, etc. - again, as advertised and more. The villa has extreme privacy, located at the end of a long, winding dirt road, in the middle of an olive grove and vineyard - just beautiful. For hikers - there is a hiking trail that starts along the driveway road (marked) and ends approx 2 miles later at the villa - perfect for a morning hike. The villa back patio is large with stunning views over the valley, comfortable patio furniture, and is conducive for family togetherness. The patio also has a covered area with a large table for meals and just hanging out for drinking the local wine. The local wine - try them ALL. In restaurants - the house wine is terrific! The check-in and check-out process with Natalia was so easy. She was so accommodating to answer all questions pre-trip and during our stay - easy communication thru What's App. This was a trip of a lifetime.

Amazing Villa
Villa is amazing, love the patio area with stellar views and multiple seating areas for a large group. Pool is down below the main patio area so the view isn't quite as spectacular (but still nice obviously). The kitchen is large and has multiple coffee making devices including an espresso machine which was nice. The bedrooms all have their own private bathroom making it ideal for multiple couples. The location is private and isolated making it a great place if you just want to relax at the Villa. This being said if you want to explore the area note that the Villa is a few miles down an unpaved windy road. It does add an extra 5-10 minutes on to a trip and isn't ideal if you want to imbibe in a few glasses of wine and then head home. The view and the villa itself make it worth the drive.

Amazing villa in Tuscany
The property was so luxurious with every bedroom having its own en suite full bathroom and the most amazing views of the surrounding wineries. The common areas were so spacious and well equipped. Natalia the property manager was so helpful and attentive and effectively served as a personal concierge during our visit from suggesting restaurants, wineries, and tours, to arranging for car service for our departures. Having the villa as our home base made our week in Tuscany truly unforgettable. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful retreat in Tuscany
Our family of 9 had a wonderful experience staying in this first class villa in the heart of Tuscany. Overlooking vineyards with an expansive view of rolling Tuscan hills took our breath away. Mornings on the deck with our cup of coffee and evenings with a glass of wine just soaking in the spectacular sunsets & twilight hours is beyond description. The property is well built & furnished with all one could need in a home away from home. The number of bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, was what sealed the deal for us. The location is just a 10 minute drive from a charming village, Castellina in Chianti, and also in close proximity or reasonable drive of several hilltop towns that we all enjoyed exploring. One thing we did that we highly recommend is hiring Chianti Chef, Matisse, to come to the villa one evening & prepare a 4 course Tuscan meal for us. The meal was delicious & Matisse was a friendly, upbeat welcome addition to our evening. It was a family memory making week that we will all treasure.

The Italian Job from Orange California.
This is the perfect vacation get away location hands down, we love the property. We had 5 couples the 6 rooms with on-suites was a remarkable and very spacious. The house and grounds were done to perfection, air conditioning in ea. Room of the house a huge huge plus. The pool is just right for relaxing day or night. The view is spectacular, the sun set and sunrise are breath taking. Our favorite two places were the kitchen and Patio the kitchen is so spacious 10 adults cooking and eating you won’t find a better lay out 10 bar stools surrounding the island is to die for in any house. The patio sits 10-12 easily one large table perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner looking over the vineyards. 5 small little villages with in a half hour. Day trips to Florence, Siena, cinque Terra are all a must. If you have a week of f this is a go all day every

A most amazing villa
Our family of 6 adults and 4 children stayed at Isola Serena for 2 weeks and could find nothing to be lacking. It is a beautiful home with amazing views and is completely stocked and equipped with everything one could ask for. The owners have done an amazing job on the property, inside and out, and there are not enough kind things we can say about Natalia, the Manager. She took care of our every need immediately, from helping us find our way the first day, to dealing with minor issues during our stay, and solving an emergency transportation issue late on our last evening-she is truly amazing. The only minor issue that we can point out is that the small pool is not really heated as it was quite cold during our stay despite several trips from the "pool guy". Maybe the heater was broken but no warm water was available, although the children still had fun in the pool. Although somewhat off the beaten path, the location was perfect for us to explore much of the Chianti region and the privacy and quiet was worth being a few kilometers from town. We also had Chef Matisse provide a meal for us during our stay-another recommendation from Natalia-and that was a wonderful experience. I Would highly recommend this property and hope to return someday.

The perfect house near Castellina in Chianti
We are12 friends who rented Isola Serena for 2 weeks, and the house was perfection! Extremely well-designed! The 6 couples had private rooms with king size beds and private bathrooms for each bedroom! The villa was modern (renovated 5 years ago) with fantastic amenities; a smart house, fabulous WiFi everywhere, a really well-equipped large kitchen where we all cooked every night, cleaning service, fantastic hiking paths from the villa (we photographed at least 50 different wild flowers) and close to our favorite town, Castellina. The views from the huge back patio were gorgeous with wonderful sunsets in the evening. Every person in the party was so pleased and happy with the villa. I organized much of the trip and I must say that the nicest extra bonus was Natalia, the villa manager; she organized everything for us from drivers to Florence, a tour guide, a few dinner reservations, and suggestions for restaurants and sights. She was always available to answer my questions and requests. She is adorable and a wonderful person. The owners of the villa are extremely fortunate to have her! Bravo to the owners for a terrific Chianti villa!!!

Thanksgiving Week at the Isola Serena
Our family of ten spent the US Thanksgiving week in Tuscany and stayed at the beautiful Isola Serena. As all other reviews have mentioned, this is a beautiful villa with breathtaking views of vineyards as far as the eye can see!!! The six bedroom six bathroom villa itself is spacious and well equipped with high end furnishings and amenities. There are two dirt road approaches to the villa - one from the south through the vineyard and one from the north. We would highly recommend accessing the villa using the 2 km dirt road approach from the NORTH. The approach from the south is more treacherous - twice we took it by mistake (in a sedan and in an SUV) and had a tough time navigating some portions of it. We had three issues during our stay: There was a miscommunication about the pool/hot tub being usable during our stay - in actuality, it was not usable. This was because it was off season and this was the first time the villa was being rented beyond October (heating system was installed in 2018), and because ours was a last minute rental. The dishwasher did not work and it couldn't be fixed that week. So we ended up hand washing the dishes for the first three days. A local person was sent to clean up our mess in the mornings of the last three days. There was mold in one of the bathrooms but the couple using the bathroom did not report this until the end of our stay. Much to Serena's credit, she explained, apologized and adequately compensated us for the above issues. Both, Natalia and Serena, communicated and responded promptly to all our inquiries and were a pleasure to deal with. We would highly recommend this villa to all future travelers to Tuscany and hope to return someday to experience a different season there!

Absolutely stunned by the sunrise and sunset as seen from the terrace
The owners must have spent so much time in the renovation process, from the layout of the interior design to the workmanship and the quality of the appliances used especially the kitchen and BBQ all fit in with the characteristics of a 6* Hotel. It has everything a chef would want in its kitchen including having the Equinox for a vegetable peeler. So generous of the owners to offer the best of the best their home and sharing with usa group of 11 from Toronto, Hong Kong and including the Crazy Rich Asians from Singapore. What a treat!! Will definitely be back again. Also we hired taxi@chianti for the whole week and the Owner was so patient and courteous to us. His driving skill was superb.

Amazing villa, fabulous location. Can’t wait to go back
What a fantastic vacation! Our time at isola Serena villa was AMAZING! The villa was everything we hoped it would be and more! I have rented many places and they are never as good as the pictures, NOT this place. It was even better. Natalia (the property manager) was awesome, took care of all our small requests and she cared about the details. Thelocation was perfect, a short drive to the charming town of Castellina in Chianti. The was unbelievably appointed.. my god, every time we looked for something in the kitchen, it was there.. no matter how obscure! :-). The pool was perfect to cool off after a hot day, the furniture was all high quality and in good condition. I loved the attention to the gardening, fresh herbs and all the little details that made the place have all the perfect touches. The bedrooms are all perfectly complete with hair dryers and modern showers The view, the view, the view!!!!! This place is paradise and everyone in our group was absolutely blown away. Can’t wait to go back !! Thank you for giving us an amazing week!

Exceeded all expectations
From the moment we arrived the villa did not disappoint. Stunning views, fantastic central location, very well equipped kitchen, ample bedrooms with a bathroom in each. The terrace was where we spent most of our time, taking in the breathtaking countryside and eating our meals out of doors every night. It was a dream vacation. Natalia was extremely helpful and went above and beyond!

Fabulous!!
We went to Tuscany with our three children, aged 12, 10 and 3 and my brother and his family. From the moment we arrived we were in awe of the beauty and grandeur of the villa and it's surroundings. Our children and nieces absolutely loved being here, which made the adult's stay even better. We tried to experience everything Tuscany had to offer and the location of the villa made that easy to do. We highly recommend staying at Isola Serena as it is the perfect way to see and live the beauty of Tuscany!

A Magical Trip and World Class Accomodations!
Staying at Isola Serena in Chianti was an incredible experience! The views and the landscape were out of a movie. The villa itself was very modern with state of the art amenities, extremely well-decorated yet had a rustic and very authentic charm. My family and I overall had a wonderful time and would love to book again next time we travel to Tuscany. Additionally, both Natalia and the property owners provided great advice with respect to attractions and restaurants in neighboring towns and cities.

What a place to relax!
As party of eight we just used this property. Nothing could have been better. The house looks exactly as it does in the picture and is well maintained and supplied. You can drink the water due to a recent addition to the purification system. The only catch is the hill just at the property- a little dicey especially with a 9 passenger van but we made it up several times- made an addition to the overall adventure. Natalia who manages the property handled a couple of small problems very fast. The property owners are very accessible and will reply to your questions almost immediately. They are a source of knowledge as to what is in the area to do. The property is well situated between Florence and Siena as well as other neat villages of various sizes. We made several day trips when we were not watching the harvest of the grapes at a nearby property. Based on recommendations from the owner , we used Chef Matisse for dinner one night and liked it so much we had him come back later in the week for another meal. Great food and great wines. He also responds to emails quickly and will modify the menu to suit you. You can also get a free cooking lesson while he works. Look no further for a great villa- easily could handle 12 people. V. C. Fabulous Property in Tuscany
I would highly recommend this practically perfect farmhouse in Tuscany. Newly renovated and beautifully appointed, this house has countryside views with modern conveniences. Our family of 9, ages 10 - 68, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Natalia, the property manager, was very helpful arranging reservations and giving suggestions ahead of time. Check in and check out were very easy. We did not use the pool much but it was nice to have it available to cool off at the end of the day. The kitchen well appointed beyond any rental expectation. The Wifi is good but did drop some when playing a game with multiple users connected - probably stretched it to the limit with 8 people connected. Things to know: If you want to have a tasting dinner at La Leccia (the castle next to the property), it might need to be booked months in advance. They say the water is not potable so you need to bring in bottled water. Do not let Google Maps bring you in the back way - only take the drive with the La Leccia signs. Going in past the La Leccia castle is a dirt road and challenging enough. You can make it the other way but it is pretty hairy and I would not recommend it. There is a sky opening at the top of the house to let the hot air which rises out in the summer. The remote which controls it should be in the box in the great room. Loved this house = would go back in a minute. As others have said, the drawback is that you never want to leave it to go anywhere.

Thanks so much for the feedback and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Definitely agree that the best route to take is by following the signs for La Leccia and entering through there. We have recently installed a high quality water purification system, so the water is now potable. We hope to welcome you back to the beautiful Isola Serena again soon!

A beautifully renovated house with a spectacular view overlooking vineyards.
We rented the villa in late April for a family holiday with our four adult children and their partners. The house is bright, spacious, modern and very clean and is in a great location. Everyone had their own bedroom with king beds and ensuite bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and worked well for our group and the living areas were nicely furnished. The large patio area with barbecue is great and the views over the vineyards are spectacular. Natalia, the property manager, was very helpful and very friendly. She ensured that everything in the villa was up to our standards and responded immediately to any questions. As well, she offered advice on sightseeing, points of interest and restaurants in the area. However, there are two items to be aware of. The drive into the villa is narrow and windy and quite steep at times. You need a good all wheel drive vehicle. As well, the tap water is not drinkable so we were constantly buying water from the grocery store in the local town which is inconvenient and not environmentally friendly. We did not know this until we arrived. Our family believes that a water purification system needs to be installed. Other than these two points the villa is beautiful. We had a wonderful vacation and would highly recommend the villa. In fact, this was one of our best holidays and the accommodation was one of the main reasons.

Thanks so much for the feedback! The water comes from a well so it was not officially certified to be drinkable, which is why we suggested our guests to get bottled water. However, we have now gone ahead and installed a high quality water purification system, so the water is now potable. We just got back from the villa and drank the water all week, which was very clean and pure! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back to the beautiful Isola Serena again soon!
