Hey good morning Ron, thank you for your review. I am sorry for the inconvenience you had checking in after hours. We are a small waterfront hotel and it states that the office is only staffed until 5:00 during the booking process. Normally this is not a concern as we contact anyone coming in after hours and make arrangements for their checkin but unfortunately the booking software we use for reservations was experiencing some delays yesterday and although you made your booking at 3:49 in the afternoon, it had not come into our system before Terry left at 5:00. I am glad we were able to have you in your room within 8 minutes of your call though. I do sincerely apologize for your inconvenience and hope that you have a great rest of your day. God Bless.

Wow, what a nice review, Eugene! I am so glad that you had a good time. I certainly understand about the road noise in the morning. When we do the renovations on the standard rooms this fall we are looking into different windows and doors that might help block that more. When this hotel was built, Slanting Bridge Road was a very quiet country Road and it’s definitely getting busier with all the development in the area! Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay and truly wish you would have let us know because we would have been more than happy to refund your money. However I do want to make sure that a few things are pointed out. I bought the property a little over a year ago and have been renovating ever since. I really wish you would have spent the few extra bucks for a lakefront room because they have all just undergone complete renovations, 17,000 per room! However the roadside rooms are being given the same renovations beginning this October. However stating that the rooms are unclean I believe is a gross misrepresentation. We were just inspected by the health department and received a 98.0 A rating and our housekeepers take a lot of pride in the cleanliness of our rooms. The mattresses are not old and certainly weren't cheap. They were all replaced brand new one year ago and were over 1500 each. The pictures are not old or outdated, they were taken by me within the last 6-12 months. Most of our guests come to The Landing Marina and Lake Norman Hotel for the lake. They come to experience the tiki bar and restaurant, to go boating and kayaking or go on one of our cruises, grab a shaved ice and sit by the water. Anyways I do really appreciate your review and hope you have a great day. I only wish you would have brought your concerns to us and allowed us to remedy the situation for you. It sounds like you stayed in one of our standard rooms with the small showers, we are beginning renovations on those rooms in October so that they will match our lakeside rooms and be given the same large custom tile showers. Hi Carol! Thank you so much for your incredible review. Yes I am so sorry that we are not open at the restaurant on Monday and Tuesday. Staffing still continues to be an issue for us. However, I’m so glad that you enjoyed the dock area and the lake. Please come back again soon. Toward the end of this month we are expecting the arrival of our new 400 square-foot Floating tiki bar. It will be able to take guests out for sunset, cruises and drinks! We are really looking forward to that one.
