I loved the ease of checking in remotely; my room was stellar; clean and roomy and the bed was extra comfy (after I removed all those extra pillows).

Better Than Nothing
Probably one of the few places to stay near to Lassen National Park. It was clean, secure, and quiet during our 3 day stay. Restaurant and pub was still being built and was not open. They didn't have a microwave for our room and there was no daily room cleaning as advertised. (There was not sign for us to leave out for room cleaning) Overall, it was a good place to stay but expected better.

We stayed one night here. It’s clean and quiet but the room number isn’t included in the confirmation email sent through Expedia. That would be useful - room names are over the doors but we couldn’t see them.

Hidden Gem... from the outside you wouldn't think too much but each room is up dated and has a theme. Our was wild west, and they nailed it. Very clean, very friendly staff. Can't wait for the brewery to be open. We will be back.

Fabulous shower. Wished for an "in room" microwave...a pain to walk to front of building to heat things up. Small waste baskets with no recycling available. Quiet, convenient location.

Love the individual uniqueness of the rooms. Very comfortable. Great shower. The rooms appear bigger on the website than they are but an ok size.

The Facility is nice, there is no staff on site, so they text you everything, which is becoming more common everywhere. The power went out in the whole town and so I texted the staff member who texted me asking about it and they told me what PG&E had told them and gave me an estimate about when the power would be back on, which was awesome. Chester is a nice little town with friendly people. Getting down to the water was a little harder than I expected, but in the end it was fun trip in a beautiful area.

AMAZING!!!! It was a great, quiet weekend away with my boyfriend, and this was the perfect place to stay for that!!! Awesome place with great prices!!! STAY HERE!!!! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Place to Stay
This little motel was a wonderful surprise. Each room has a theme. Ours was Rebel Heat which the room décor was perfect for the theme. This motel has been remodeled with care. We will gladly stay in the Timber House Lodge again.

Gypsy Love this Room!
This is the cutest motel! It has recently been remodeled and they did a fabulous job. They are currently in the process of building a new restaurant which will be great for convenient dining. The manager was highly responsive in answering my text for dining recommendations. If you’re heading to Almanor I highly recommend Timber Lodge.

Shame we weren't able to stay.
Sadly, we were unable to stay at the property due to the wildfire in the area. We were looking forward to it but there were evacuation orders nearby. There was ash falling all around and air quality was worse than poor. I hope the folks in the area all came out ok.

There wasn't anyone on site, but someone was available over the phone anytime I called. The room was decorated so cute and was very comfortable. No on site laundry, though. Forest fires in the area made air quality a problem, so open restaurants were scarce.

Our room “cowboy” was nicely decorated and was spacious, but the toilet/bathroom had a salon style door which was really impractical. The city of Chester doesn’t really have anything going on, so one can use the place only to crash at night for Lassen National Park trip for which it serves the purpose well. The property just has 9 rooms stacked next to each other like a motel and first look was worrying for the price. They seem to be building a restaurant on site as well but currently there was just a microwave in the front room for all the folks.

We are staying in the Rebel Heart room - it is themed and everything in it is top of the line. Best towels and linens we have had during our travels - plush. All the details and amenities were great. It is quiet, the shower in the bathroom was spacious, very clean -- if anyone is traveling to visit Lassen Volcanic NP then this hotel is the place to stay.

Immaculate rooms and cozy bed!
Room was immaculate. Bed is huge and cozy, great pillowed and bedding seems brand new. After a long drive it was a welcomed spot for the night. Highly recommend.

Nice place. Clean, friendly and helpful! The only drawback was the saloon swing doors for the bathroom. No privacy with those.

Thank you for the feedback! We know the saloon doors are not for everyone. There are 7 rooms that do not have saloon bathrooms doors and we hope you visit again and check them out!

I've stayed in a lot of hotels and it takes a LOT for me to write a negative review. Here are the highlights: - Property advertised and sold as a "restaurant, brewery, and lodge" but there is no food or drink on site. In a town with not much in it, this was kind of a big deal. - Super thin walls with adjoining doors. We could hear a child screaming most of the time. - The A/C was a wall mounted piece of junk that stopped working at 1 in the morning. Extremely hot and unpleasant for the remainder of the night. - How, dear god, HOW can a hotel in the year 2021 not have a bathroom door? I understand the aesthetic of a saloon style divider in a ranch themed room, but WHY?

I am very sorry you had such a negative experience at our lodge. If you could let me know where there is advertisement regarding the restaurant/brewery I would appreciate it as we have not been promoting anything currently and have been careful not to include that information in the property name, hence why reservations through third party sites only say Timber House Lodge. The AC units are brand new and state of the art programmable units, which may have been the issue if prior guests set it up that way. In the future please use the after hours number provided in the room so we can assist you immediately rather than being uncomfortable. As for the saloon bathroom door, we have taken great pride and time in decorating each room with a theme. We include pictures of each room on the booking sites to clearly show features such as saloon doors. Of the 9 rooms on this property only 2 have saloon doors and have thus far been widely loved. We understand this is not for everyone. Thank you for letting us know about the sound issue. We will address this with the staff and investigate the problem.
