Excellent Hotel
Ideal place to stay whilst I Colombo. Hotel very nice....old but well maintained. Good rooms, with occasional smell of drains but nothing that wasn't expected. Buffet choice and quality of food good. Staff very good. Nothing to complain about and would definitely stay again

Classy historical elegant hotel
The hotel is an icon of Colombo, inaugurated in colonial times, so classy! and classical, all is elegant. We got a junior suite with partial view of the bay, as free upgrade. Afternoon drinks by the terrace bar was great, everything in the large room was excellent quality and the bed perfect. Breakfast before checking out was outstanding

Heritage stay in Colombo
Very good hotel and service, the room and bathroom were spotless although the room looks a bit old dated (considering the price), the pool is perfect to relax and escape from the heat af Colombo, but it is close too early. The best was the breakfast, a huge selection of cold and hot dishes, cold cuts, cheese, bakery, pastries, fruits, natural juices (even coconut water), egg hoppers and eggs prepared a la minute and champagne, what more else you can ask!

This stay was a step back in time with all the modern conveniences and amenities. The staff is amazing and helpful with our greatest experience with concierge help, Emmanuel. The breakfast buffet did not disappoint. The on site bars and restaurants were top notch. Don’t miss the historical photographs in the bar. Amazing experience and we look forward to returning soon.

The rooms and hotels are great. Staff is very nice & the pool area is beautiful. I stood twice at 2 different rooms & it’s pretty neat and clean. The only flaw I encountered which was very disappointing is the stained bed sheets in junior sweet. Buy new sheets for crying out loud! It wasn’t even a standard room but a suite!

Nice old colonial style hotel on the beach but charmless staff at reception spoilt the visit - we said good evening mr and mrs ourname checking in the best they could come up with was “passports” and it did not get better. Communication with the hotel prior to arrival was very poor. Lots of work on this needed.

The hotel is lovely and very traditional. The staff are very attentive and always welcoming. The pool area however requires upgrading as the flooring is broken in several places and is a safety hazard.

Our second stay at the Galle Face - once you have stayed there you won’t want to stay anywhere else in Colombo. The hotel is set right on the beach front with a fabulous 30 m sea salt pool A qualified lifeguard is always on duty- a big thank you to Aja for welcoming us back to the pool and sunloungers -a top spot! Happy Hour cocktails on the hotel green to watch the sun go down while the flag is lowered and the bagpipes play - perfect start to the evening. Dine then on the open terrace with a fantastic choice of Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Several bars on site to choose from after this Highly recommend this hotel

Wunderschönes Hotel im Kolonialstil. Sehr leckeres Frühstück mit viel Auswahl. Da ist für jeden was dabei. Die Zimmer waren auch sehr schön eingerichtet, allerdings sind die Möbel doch ein wenig veraltet aber das hat uns nicht gestört.

Galle Face Hotel does live up to its rich heritage and the main thing is the service received from everyone from the concierge team, to the room cleaners, the team in the restaurant that aim to please and even from the man in the uniform employed to scare the birds away with an unloaded slingshot! Yes, the hotel is showing it's age but the rooms are generous and comfortable and the history...amazing! My suggestion is to get someone to show you how to work out the old fashioned key in the lock as it is very annoying and the keyhole is too low to start with!

It is a beatiful place with the flavour of old authentic feeling but with all the modern conveniences. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The morning breakfast time is a bit hectic but there is plnty of areas to R&R. I always wanted to stay in GF and I fulfiled my dream.

Lovely gem of a hotel in the perfect area.
Perfect base to explore Colombo or chill on their excellent grounds. Great pool and big terraces- plenty of space and incredible views. The hotel staff were super friendly, it was my birthday on the day we arrived. They delivered a delicious birthday cake to my room which was super kind of them. The food in the restaurant was great- we ate a dinner buffet there and the quality and variety was excellent, and breakfasts were also hugely varied and well stocked. Would go back anytime- really lovely big old gem of a hotel!

Sink didn't drain properly in the sink. Room looked tired. Wires hanging out behind the wardrobe. Wardrobe not against the wall properly. Some areas of hotel (inside) had no aircon and became hot, stuffy and smelly. That being said the staff we very friendly and the feel of the hotel and reception area was great

When we got to hotel they asked if we would like to be upgraded I thought how lovely, we were put at the noisy end of hotel where they were practicing Independence Day marching ,so we got woken up very early each morning. Amazing breakfast 😘 cocktails expensive and small

I stayed here back in 2017 when I stayed in the Heritage Junior Suite with access to the Long Room. That was extra special and staff were attentive. This trip I stayed in a standard room and the service was not so. I had to ask more than once for a drink or service in the veranda and bill. The cocktail guy on the lawn was great. Love the ambience of the location but I’m not sure I’d stay again. For me the GF has lost its charm.
