Our host was so accommodating with every detail of our stay. Such a relaxing location with beautiful period furniture and decor! The breakfasts prepared by Burnett were absolutely delicious!

I want to start off by saying this is kid friendly. I had three of my grandkids with me and my daughter. Such a kind sincere down to earth. She took care of us like we were royalty. She is definitely kid friendly and a great cook. Most accommodating I would recommend this place highly I give it five stars and I will definitely be back.

It was a wonderful place to stay. Burnett our host was amazing. The accommodations were not only beautiful but comfortable and to top it off the I haven’t had a breakfasts that good in a long long time. As you might have guessed I would highly recommend staying there.

Exceptional Bed and Breakfast
This was my first time staying in a bed and breakfast. The owner/host was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. We were given choices on breakfast menu which was homemade and delicious. Customer service was excellent. Will plan a future stay again.

It had always been a dream to stay in such a place. It is beautiful, quiet and the owner is wonderful, very friendly. She is quite tge cook and her vegan breakfast was excellent.

Brunette keeps her home immaculately clean and she is a fabulous hostess. Great conversation and privacy. No noise in our room from downstairs kitchen. Very nice stay

Beautiful facility and outstanding service!!!
I had an absolutelyAmazing stay at Shadow Lawn Bed and Breakfast. The hostess Burnett was very sweet and professional . She provided both a history lesson on the beautiful property as well as an amazing breakfast featuring the quiche of our choice. We will definitely stay there again.

Pleasant and relazing visit.
We enjoyed our stay, the home was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, the antiques in the home were stunning. The hospitality was amazing, we were welcomed and made to feel special. We enjoyed the conversation and the history of the home. I would recommend Shadowlawn Bed and Breakfast to anyone.

Stellar service in a unique historic house
I was in town for a friend's wedding and stayed two nights. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. The first morning I had strawberry soup and a spinach frittata, and the second morning I had almond roasted peaches and a pecan praline strata. The hostess was incredibly kind and thoughtful, and even gave me a tour of the property and local recommendations of other historic places to visit. I stayed in the Victorian Room and enjoyed the unique decor and very comfortable king bed. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and unique place to stay in Columbus!

Mother-Daughter getaway
Me and my daughter left the gulf coast to go and visit some friends in the Columbus area when looking for a place to stay Shadowlawn came up, I love history and thought this was the perfect place to share that love with my daughter, de where greeted and treated with a warm welcome the home was beautiful our rooms wonderful bed was so comfortable and breakfast the next morning was great. I will look forward to our next visit.

Life in the Old South
Beautiful on outside and inside. Amazing antiques and silver. Hundreds of clocks. Breakfast is delicious and served in the formal dining room on fine china and sterling silver. A great experience for any adult. Not suitable for young children. Most bedrooms upstairs so if stairs are not for you call and get the one bedroom on the main floor. The other four are upstairs. We definitely will stay here again!

Shadowlawn is an exceptional Southern residence and truly takes you back in time to a relaxing way of life. Breakfast was deliciously prepared and served in a beautiful setting. Our hostess was knowledgeable about the area very welcoming into her home. Highly recommend a stay at Shadowlawn

You must visit Shadowlawn
A wonderful place to stay with excellent hospitality. We were treated royally and recommend Shadowlawn to all. Burnette was a most pleasant hostess and the breakfasts were superb.

Very nice quiet place to stay near college graduat
We were in Starkville for MSU graduation. We couldn't have picked a better place than Shadowlawn in Columbus for our stay. Our hostess was the best. We would definatley stay there again. Breakfast was delicious .

Excellent Stay in Columbus
Burnette is a wonderful hostess, the food was excellent, our room was huge and very comfortable and the home is stunning. We loved everything about this home no look forward to our next visit. The location is very convenient for walking to Main Street or to the University, and a short walk to Tennessee William's home.

Very relaxing way to break up a long trip home...
In order to break up a long trip home after vacation,I did a search for hotels in the Columbus Ms area and Shadowlawn was one of the choices. Being as we are newlyweds of 31 years I thought this could be a little more romantic than a motel. What a great experience it turned out to be. This 150+ year old home is beautifully restored and loaded with antiques from around the world. Burnett was a wonderful hostess and we enjoyed spending time with her and exchanging life stories. Very refreshing visit and we left thankful for meeting a new friend.

I would stay at this B&B every time. The breakfasts were delicious and served on period china and sterling. Very impressive.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast
This Bed and Breakfast is an antebellum home (circa 1848) in beautiful condition. The owner was most gracious and attentive. In the evenings we would sit in her parlor and converse about diverse topics. We enjoyed our experience completely.

A Gem in Columbus
It is a beautiful house with lots of history. The rooms are well furnished with antiques, and the beds are very comfortable. Ms. Burnett is a wonderful host, and the formal breakfast is a very nice treat.

A Wonderful Visit
I had a wonderful stay at Shadowlawn. I came to visit my daughter at MS State and go to a football game. When I found ALL the hotels sold out, the only remaining option was Shadowlawn Bed & Breakfast in closeby, Columbus. It was about 20 minutes down the highway and a super easy drive. Our stay with owner/inn-keeper, Burnette, was a true delight. I will stay here in the future. The home is beautiful and full of wonderful history that Burnette is happy to share. Her breakfasts and impeccable service were the icing on the cake. Our room had 2 queen beds; perfect for my mom and I. It was a very comfortable and spacious room. There isnt much to do in Columbus but we spent much of our short visit at MS State anyway. Thank you, Burnette, for sharing your wonderful home and hospitality with us!

Lovely B&B Inn in Historic City
We had a delightful stay at Shadowlawn. The owner was very personable and engaging and gave us great thumbnail sketches of the history of her house and Columbus in general. She did everything possible to make sure our stay was a pleasant retreat from the outside world.

We attended a graduation at Mississippi University for Women and wanted a hotel near the University. Shadowlawn is next door to the University so we were able to leave our car parked at Shadowlawn and walk next door for the ceremony. Shadowlawn is beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed looking at all of the antiques aand appreciated the hospitality of the staff.
