Perfect location in the heart of town.
Apartment was warm – great to come back to that after a chilly day out exploring.
Washing machine - you just need to know it takes about two days for anything to hang dry. So plan accordingly.
Two Netto grocery stores are very close by to buy coffee pods for delonghi coffee/espresso maker.
Safety concerns? (Copenhagen is a very safe place) the unit is behind a grand door, an iron gate, the door to the building and yet another locked door midway up the stairs.
Stairs are typical for old buildings: narrow and winding. Less luggage is better if you can plan it that way.
Speaking of luggage, there is no place to put your clothing, nor is there anywhere to stow your luggage. We had to splay out onto the floors and live out of our suitcases.
I thought the big black unit pictured in the dining room was an armoire. It is not. It is some sort of safe. I wish there had been a dresser to put our clothes in. Then we could have slid the suitcases under the bed. Since we stayed for two weeks, this was disheartening.
The loft – we did not feel comfortable or safe using it.
The ladder just leans against the loft. There should be hooks at the top for safety/security. We were told to make sure the bottom of the ladder was under a throw rug to prevent slipping. We both felt the ladder situation was an accident waiting to happen, so we ended up bunking together on the bottom bed. That was not our plan. And for travelers with back issues, the mattress is very very soft/spongy.
As I mentioned, we stayed 2 weeks. We were provided only one scratchy bath & hand towel each. Remember it takes 2 days to dry anything… I recommend an upgrade of towels & provide at least 2 sets per person.
Use the shelves in the kitchen for your toiletry items – the bathroom also is typical tiny. The shower is about 36 inches square, including the sink. Minus the sink you have about 22” x 36” in which to maneuver. Know before you go.
The only real problem we had was on the first day with the blinds. They did not to go down easily. We informed the owners. The wife came over and could not release the blind either, so she arranged pillows and bedding tucked into the window. It remained this way for the duration of our stay. We were afraid to lift the blinds after that. So we basically spent two weeks in the darkened apartment.
Having said all that, this is a wonderfully situated apartment. Easy days on foot, Metro & train.
