First of all, I felt it was a privilege to be in such a marvelous home. Thank you to Denis and Carolyn for sharing this spectacular place for the time you're off globetrotting! :-)
We live in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, with spectacular views from our own back yard. However, Cowichan Bay and environs left us in awe as we looked out the windows or sat on the deck. Actually, there are many areas at Seagate from which to enjoy the views -- the McDonald's must have amazing gatherings of family and friends there. Several dozen seating places are spread throughout the gorgeous property. Plus, the stairs going down to the shore was a special highlight, one of many!
The house itself has all the amenities one could ask for, but the really special part for me was the art... all the pieces collected by the hosts, but primarily the beautiful paintings done by Carolyn herself. I really can't say enough about how we loved the overall decor and furnishings for the entire week we stayed at Seagate Villa.
Because we spent pretty much every day traveling hither and yon (south to Victoria, north to Nanaimo) to the usual tourist attractions, we wound up spending only one day simply lounging around and relaxing. Had we known, we would definitely have booked Seagate for two weeks! Thank you again, Denis and Carolyn, for opening up your most lovely home like this. We really, really enjoyed it! :-)
