Hello, We have made a nominal charge for car parking since august 2020, this has been introduced at the request of guests to limit the number of non-residents who where abusing the hotel car parks. We are sorry you feel this is unreasonable but is a 50% reduction on the 24 hour rate and is less than you will pay for 1 hour in some car parks. We do have other tariffs available which include free parking. Kind Regards

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Whilst we wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. We do not have any chalets, your room was in our annexe which is a brick built bungalow 7 paces from the main hotel. It is well lit and has a large window overlooking the woods, it also has a very large bathroom with bath and shower over again with a large window. It is often requested. We do have other rates available which include both breakfast and parking and our rates are very competitive at this time, hence we were fully booked at the time of your stay. Hello, Thank you for your comments, we are however somewhat mystified, our rooms are thoroughly cleaned and checked before they are let, our swimming pool, although it was one of the first indoor pools in the area when it was originally built does not date from 1800. The original house was constructed around 1750, we believe, but did not open as a hotel until 1947. The indoor swimming pool is checked and cleaned every few hours throughout the day. If a tissue had been dropped in the lobby it would have been cleared away very quickly afterwards. All our guests, bar the few who have exemptions, are wearing masks. We have many excellent reviews regarding our cleanliness and Covid-19 preparedness, we have also been inspected by our local environmental health officer, who was happy with our standards and procedures. We have extra teams of cleaners on duty all day continuously cleaning touch points throughout the hotel. Luckily, we have very spacious public areas and plenty of external space with superb sea views so many of our guests choose to sit on our Verandah, in the hotel’s extensive gardens or on their balconies. If an item were missed at some point during a stay a mention to any one of our over 80 team members would have resulted in us doing our very best to resolve any issues.
