Hello Alexandra, Thank you for your feedback. When we received this review we promptly went to our VRBO inbox to make sure that we didn’t miss any communication from you or your guests regarding any of these points, yet the only message that we received during your stay was the message requesting a complimentary extended stay because of your flight delay that we unfortunately had to decline due to unavoidable housekeeping scheduling as we graciously explained. Additionally, we have an on site maintenance groundskeeper, which introduced himself to your party on your check in day to let you know his contact information in the case that you would need him for any reason or concern. He did not receive any of this review’s feedback from you, and stated that your party was contently enjoying your stay. Our cleaning crew concentrates heavily on the cleanliness and comfort of the cabins, please let us know if there are areas that made the living areas as you stated, unclean aside from leaves and foliage being in the outdoor kitchen surrounded by forest trees, and a construction site located away from all the cabin areas. We will look at the bed slats immediately, we have not heard about this from any previous guest so we were not aware of it. The pool table was damaged during a previous booking and we are waiting for the replacement parts to arrive, and this will be fixed shortly. Please do message us with any additional property concerns as our guest’s experience is of utmost importance. Again, we apologize that we were not able to accommodate your complimentary extended stay request.

Dear Future Guests, We are baffled by this review. In all our history of hosting we have never encountered a guest experience to this magnitude, and will address each point made my this guest’s review in order to alleviate any concern for further guests. Mr.Collins and his group had a misunderstanding regarding the Loft cabin. This was a brand new cabin newly finished by our carpenter that no guests had used yet. It was not included in Mr.Collins reservation, and when his group arrived and could not access this accommodation, they became upset. We decided to ask them if they would like to add it to the reservation as first guests to use it; yet they were upset and declined. This set the tone for the myriad of complaints that followed. Refrigerator: We received the complaint that the refrigerator was not cooling properly. We ordered a new $2000 refrigerator. The guests demanded that the refrigerator be delivered that day. Because we are in a rural area Lowes could not deliver it as a same day delivery. Guests were advised to place food items in the other refrigerators and freezers on the property to keep food fresh. No food should have been lost as we have the following extra freezers/refrigeration on the property: Mini Fridge-Tavern Mid Size Fridge and Freezer-Bunk Cabin Full Size Fridge and Freezer-Retreat Cabin Mini Fridge: Loft Cabin The brand new refrigerator was delivered to the property within couple of days which was the soonest possible date offered by Lowes. All of this was communicated to the guests. Cleanliness: The property was given a full cleaning by our housekeeping service prior to this guests arrival. There were no cleanliness complaints other than leaves and debris around the outdoor kitchen (The area had rain storms recently and this could have increased the foliage in that area), and cobweb found in the vent in the kitchen. We sent one of our housekeeping team members to the property and both were resolved immediately. Maintenance: Our property is regularly maintained, upgraded and expanding. On our Mystic Lodge team, we have an amazing personal carpenter that works for the property. Our carpenter was sent to the property once we received the excessive list of “problems” from Mr.Collins, which came as a surprise to us since our carpenter is at the cabins and property maintaining often. We take pride in this property, as this is also our personal home and we have young children that visit often. Safety is our utmost priority, and we also take pride in the aesthetics of the property. There were no major issues found, and any minor concerns were fixed on the spot. Garbage: Our garbage day is Wednesday. This day is beyond our control and cannot be changed; therefore, there was some trash from the previous guests in the trash bins. We ordered more bins to offer more trash space in the case of excessive trash. Theatre Room/Arcade (Game Table): We keep a Welcome Book in each of the cabins. These books hold a Wealth of information/instruction for all points of the property. We let the guests know that the book contained the instructions for the theatre room; however, we continued to receive calls from Mr.Collins that the TV would not work. Again, we sent a staff member to the property to check out the TV’s operation. The guests were shown the Instructions in the Welcome Book by the staff member and once followed functioned normally. The game table was working, it only had an upside down screen orientation. This is an admin setting that can be changed at the time of power on, and was changed back to normal settings within minutes. We apologize for the concern that this unfortunate review has unnecessarily left our future guests, and look forward to the opportunity to show you all the beauty that Mystic River Lodge has to offer. We had our refrigerator/freezer checked and the temperature was not at the correct temperature setting, so this issue thankfully was easily resolved.
