Amazing as always!
We came here 2 summers ago and stayed in Creekside cabin and fell in love with the surroundings! You can hear the creek everywhere you are, even while inside the cabin. When returning for a long Easter weekend, we brought family and rented the other cabin on the property as well (Trout Retreat) which made for a fun-filled, yet relaxing, mountain retreat. The cabins have all the necessities, but we spent most of our time exploring the creek, having daytime picnics, evening bonfires by the creek, as well as letting our dogs run around enjoying themselves in this amazing mountain oasis! We will be back again!

Lovely Cabin Stay
Our stay was perfect. We enjoyed cooking over the fire pit while relaxing by the trout stream. There was plenty of hiking nearby and then we grilled out on the bbq, ate on the screened in porch and had a soak in the sparkling clean jacuzzi. The cabin was spotlessly clean and we had plenty of towels and blankets. It was cozy to sit in front of the fireplace on a rainy evening and the bed was very comfortable. Everything about our stay was great. We will definitely come again! Our hosts were very responsive when we had questions before arrival.

Winter vacation
A delightful log cabin set on a wonderful stream . Quiet, peaceful, relaxing ! A pet friendly place that was tranquil and serene. Even the road was lovely for walking and Boone is only 20 minutes away.

Weekend getaway
Great cozy place to stay. Deep enough in the mountain where you are not near the busy city's. Its alot better than some cabins where your stacked on top of each other. The only suggestion i would make is having the hot tub under a shelter. We were only able to get in once because it rained the rest of the trip.

Cozy Cabin Getaway
This is the definition of "cozy cabin in the woods." It has all the amenities needed to make you feel like home, plus amazing views of the stream in the backyard. The hosts were amazing and anticipated any needs with a well stocked kitchen, tons of linens, and entertainment for rainy days. A perfect, memorable experience that we will cherish!

Mountain cabin delight
My husband and I had a delightful stay in this lovely mountain cabin. The best part was having the creek right behind the cabin on the property. We enjoyed the fishing and listening to the lovely sounds of the creek.

An adorable cabin
We enjoyed our stay so much! The photos do not do the cabin justice. We loved sitting out on the screened in porch and listening to the creek while enjoying our morning coffee. The upstairs loft bedroom overlooking the downstairs fireplace was so cozy. Would stay there again! Also on a very private road but only 20-30 from the parkway and downtown Boone!

Great getaway
This was a great little getaway for my wife and I . The cabin was clean and rustic. The creek was a plus with mountains surrounding you. Wish I brought my fishing rod looked like the trout was very active. Could not get into basement due to door knob being off. Would have put load of lining in but didn't want to break anything. Overall great little cabin if you like some peace and quite with good fishing.

Beautiful!
The cabin was absolutely perfect. Very clean and everything you would need to relax and enjoy the mountains. The kitchen was FULLY stocked with cookware, utensils, etc. Plenty of towels and linens. The fireside by the stream was perfect for a nightly fire. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Earlier reviews indicated an odor to the water and I will tell you there was absolutely NO odor. This place is perfect for a retreat from the daily grind!

Perfect cabin getaway
We could not have had a better place to stay. Away from all of the “city noise”, this quaint little cabin was just what we needed. We appreciated all of the special touches that made this cabin warm and cozy. The fireplace, hot tub and fishing stream were all well used and enjoyed. The bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of towels. The kitchen was so cute and well stocked for meal prep. Everything was just wonderful from start to finish. I hope that we can visit again in the future. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Little cabin in the woods
Here is my honest review of the little cabin. If you are looking for a private getaway to relax in a hot tub or listen to the creek this is the place. The cars up and down the road were a little more than one might think but it was fine for us but be aware this is close to a dirt road/ slightly busy . Everything was super clean but don't expect any extras bring everything you need including extra paper towels and TP. Salt and Pepper are all the condiments you will find so bring what you need if you plan on cooking. The cabin next door is very close which didn't bother us but might some. The cabin was not without lots of creaks you would think someone was walking on the roof but it's a cabin and I know some people really love the spooky sounds. Seating was just a couch so you would need to factor in if more than two people are coming. We loved this little noisy creaky cabin it was def a vibe. I would book again and next time bring family to rent next door. Overall great stay. Oh and thanks to the recommendations for restaurants left in the book by visitors they were spot on!

Beautiful Cabin
Absolutely as pictured and clean! At the bottom of Elk Creek Rd, no trouble finding with GPS. Well stocked with everything you need to get started as stated in description. Main bedroom was in the loft, which I didn’t see listed and was an issue for me and we had to leave a day early bc I could no longer climb the stairs. The creek was gorgeous, there is a larger cabin in close proximity and those families used the whole creek, so no fishing for my hubby. But overall, if you want to unplug and unwind this is definitely the place! Take a book, or just close your eyes and sit by the creek. My favorite place was definitely the screened porch early in the morning, coffee and the creek! Blue Ridge Diner and Bella’s in Boone are great places to eat too, Nancy, thanks for the recommendations!

Screened Porch Overlooking Stream
We enjoyed the whole week, highlighted by our time on the screened porch. We were either preparing to fish or just sitting and enjoying the weather and the natural beauty. We observed fish, wild turkeys, hummingbirds etc. A real treat!

We enjoyed our little weekend turnaround stay at this well-maintained cabin situated about 20 minutes from downtown Boone. Perfect Getaway
This cabin is absolutely perfect! My husband and I as well as our fur kids had an amazing time relaxing and walking the property and hanging by the clear water creek. This cabin has all the amenities you could need, down to linens for the dogs which I absolutely love! We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful setting
This was a wonderful retreat for us! My husband spent morning, noon, and night fishing. So easy with the stream right out the back door. This cabin had the best stocked kitchen of any place I’ve stayed and was so well organized. I loved sitting on the screened-in porch. We will return for sure!

We had a great time. The home was beautiful. New appliances. I loved the fridge on the screened porch you dont have to run in and out plus double fridge and freezer area. We had trouble with getting the gas logs on the lady was right there to show us how to work it. We will be back for a longer stay. Thank you so much.

Cozy cabin
This is a perfect cabin in the most lovely location! My husband and I spent our anniversary here relaxing and enjoying the nature around us. My favorite was the little reading porch upstairs overlooking the stream reading Outlander! My husbands favorite was fishing and exploring along and in the stream. Simon, our dog, loved napping on the screened porch. I would highly recommend this beautiful little cabin in the woods!

Anniversary Getaway
The cabin was do clean and had everything we needed . The porch sitting wat hing and listening to the rushing water was a delight. Our anniversary was wonderful as we relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed each others company as we have for the last 37 years. We will be back. The only negative thing I can say is there isn't any privacy around the hot tub and even us old married folks like to ignite that flame....lol

Cold Rain, Hot Tub
Thoroughly enjoyed staying here! The weather switched on us about a week before the trip, which brought close-to-freezing temps. The fireplace pilot was out, but the Welcome book helped me to get it back pretty quick. It was great after running from the hot tub with the littles bundled up in towels, straight to the fireplace. We had hoped to hunt for mores while we were there, but we’re afraid to venture too far for fear of not knowing exactly where the property lines were. What they say about the water is true, yes, but just drop by Walmart or Dollar General and grab a couple of gallons on your way in. It’s really not that big a deal. The internet and cell coverage took a lot longer to get used to (especially for our tech-minded kids) than the water.

Didn't want to leave
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this cabin. What we enjoyed the most was the outdoor space, hot tub, fully functioning kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils, and proximity to the creek. The king bed seemed a bit worn (soft) and the pull-out sofa bed was a bit wonky in the corners, but did not have a negative impact on our stay. This property will definitely stay on our short list for when we visit the area!

Beautiful Property
We loved everything about this cabin. The outdoor space was wonderful. Very close to downtown Boone, but very secluded. There is another cabin close by, but it wasn’t occupied. I could see that being an issue if it was since it is so close, though. Nice big king-sized bed, large couch, and plenty of seating. The mini-split air units took a bit of research to use, but they kept the cabin nice and cozy. Our only concern was the sulfur smell coming from the water. It is very strong (even though the water was filtered) so make sure you purchase drinking water prior and you should be ok.

Not bad but could be better
The property that the house is on is really pretty. However it is not very secluded and you have two neighbors to the left within walking distance. There is also trash in and around the creek that take a little bit of the excitement out of booking this VRBO. Also you probably are seeing this in other reviews but the water is abnormally bad. I am very familiar with well water but this was exceptionally bad. If you run the shower downstairs for 5 minutes the entire house smells like rotten eggs. For the high cost per night after fees, a functional usable shower that doesn’t smell like a septic tank is a requirement. Probably won’t stay here again, to be honest. A lot of the cabin needs updating, the property isn’t as secluded as advertised, and the high costs just doesn’t make it worth it. Especially with the unusable shower mixed in.

Good Evening , this is Nancy Blalock the owner . After reading your review I am absolutely shocked by it . I have owned that cabin for nearly 20 years and have done many beautiful renovations to it including a brand new 9500.00 top of the line hot tub . I have never seen any trash in or around our beautiful tranquil creek , so I’m assuming someone’s trash can must have fallen over and perhaps floated down stream ? I do hope you picked it up or called my house keeper to have it done as we care so deeply for the wildlife in and around the stream . I do state in my description of the property that there is another cabin there , but the way I have them positioned has never been a issue for my guests to enjoy their privacy & the peacefulness of my property. I do wish you would have alerted either myself or my housekeeping staff as to the sulfur smell , we would have happily come and changed out the filter for your comfort . I Am truly sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us , but honestly my very competitive rates make it hard to find such a unique property as most of guests have agreed according to my long history of reviews . I really do hope that your future allows you to find your perfect stay in NC Many Blessings , Nancy

Rest and relax and the creek!
This is the perfect cozy cabin and it is pet friendly! Lots of wonderful extras that make it feel like home and a comfortable spot to rest. We wanted a spot that was secluded, so we were very happy with the location. It’s about 30 min from the main roads and a little further to the main nearby amenities. We came to fish a bit and relax a lot - exactly what we did. The river is only stocked twice a year and toward the end of those times, there just aren’t many fish - or any fish, not sure. So check your dates and fish stocking if fishing is a priority. The hot tub was fabulous. Clean, nice and easy to use without a lot of hassle. Fireplace is awesome. Screened in porch is great (especially for Fido). Kitchen had everything we needed and we used it for every meal every day. TV had enough channels and music (maybe bring a Bluetooth speaker if you’re picky about having quality sound - would be nice for the porch or deck or fire pit anyway!). Wi-Fi works for the basics, but don’t expect to stream anything or take Zoom calls - who wants to take a Zoom call on vacation anyway? They could use a bit more light in the cabin overall and the bathroom upstairs is acceptable, but pretty small with just a curtain closure (there is a second full bath downstairs and it’s wonderful). But truly not complaints, just observations to help the next renter with expectations :-). FYI - They do not provide trash service - so heads up. Leave room or make plans to take your trash to town before you leave! **if you leave the cleaning crew a tip they will take it for you, but it is not a service they provide, so tip accordingly! This place is full of rest and relaxation opportunities and our pup absolutely loved the property.
