Worst place I’ve ever rented from Vrbo
The guy that owns the property, accepted my money through the booking and then tells me I have to send my ID through the site. There is no where to send an ID through this site, so I wrote him, but days go by with no response. So, I try calling repeatedly. No answer. So I tried emailing, tried calling some more, still no response. Mind you, he said in his ONLY message that if he doesn’t “receive my ID” we won’t be given entry to the rental. It’s now 2 days till my stay, with NO communication from him, so I gave texting a try, and though it took him hours to respond, he finally writes and said to “email him a copy of my ID”. Even though Vrbo doesn’t require it and he’s thinking of the “other” site he uses, I send him the ID. He finally sends the code for the door the morning of our rental. No further communication takes place. We arrive, the AC in the unit makes a terrible noise, the back yard is trashed and things aren’t clean in general. We stayed our couple of nights and on the last day we wake up at 9am as check out is at 10. At 9:20am we hear knocking at the door. It’s him claiming he’s bringing us a “box fan”.. 40 minutes before check out?!? I didn’t open the door. I told him to come back when we have gone. The whole thing was very weird. I am never renting from that guy again.
