We traveled to Kentucky to see the Ark Encounter. This home is located in a quaint small town that was very peaceful. It was a short and easy drive to the Ark. The house had plenty of room, and the condition of everything was practically new. A huge bonus was the garage parking. We have an SUV, and there was plenty of room to park and unload all inside the garage with the door closed. There’s a park and a pond just behind the home which would be great to enjoy when the weather cooperates.
The real differentiator of this property is the host. They communicated prior to our stay, during our stay, and after our stay. They offered restaurant suggestions when I asked for them. They made themselves accessible, even though we didn’t need anything. While we were there, Dry Ridge experienced some pretty rare severe weather complete with a few tornado watches. The host proactively reached out to us to see if we needed shelter of any kind. They even reached out to a couple local churches to find places of refuge for us if we wanted to seek shelter in a basement should the weather turn for the worse. I’ve rented a lot of places and had some really great hosts. These might just have been the best I’ve experienced, really going beyond the bounds of good service.
