No se podía dormir del calor que hacía, ya que los radiadores no se podían regular y estaban que quemaban, además del ruido que había en la calle siempre y que las ventanas no insonorizaban ni un pelo (aparte de que las ventanas estaban rotas prácticamente todas). En el desayuno nos sirvieron poca comida y no nos dejaron repetir. Pero el precio era muy inferior a la media en el centro de Dublín.

Todo bien, salvo decir que ofertan un servicio de conexión a internet en las habitaciones que no es tal, ya que en mi habitación no tenía ningún tipo de conexión ni llegaba la señal.

Bed was so uncomfortable that you could feel the bed springs had to put quilt on the bed so I could get some sleep very small room I could put both hands across both walls

Always a pleasure
This is my second or third stay at Avondale Guest House. It is very basic, but I really like its old-fashioned style. Too many hotels are flashy. This one is straight-forward and it's charming. The hot breakfast is always enjoyable, and the dining-room staff are lovely. The location, of course, is excellent. I intend to return again.

When we walked into the room, we wondered why the window was open when it was freezing. We soon discovered that it was because there was an absolutely nauseatingly sickening rotting smell coming from the bathroom. It actually made us sick. They should not be housing people in a room like that. It smelled like a dead body. So we had to keep the window open and we told them it was freezing and if we could adjust the radiator. They said it was automatic and naturally there was no heat comming out of the radiator. It was a really unpleasant experience!

Buchung erfolgte über Expedia. de Wir wurden aufgefordert zu zahlen, noch bevor wir uns das Zimmer ansehen dürften. Ich hätte sonst auf das Hotel verzichtet. Das Hotelzimmer war winzig klein und ohne Schrank oder sonstiges. unsere Handgepäck Koffer müssten unter den Betten aufbewahrt werden, sonst könnten wir nicht mal laufen in dem Zimmer. Fenster, Tür und Dusche waren verschimmelt. Ebenso die Treppen draussen. Die Tapeten waren verschmutzt, auf der Treppe teilweise abgerissen. Fenster in dem Zimmer waren undicht und total verschmutzt. Die Betten waren kaputt mit heraus blickenden Sprungfedern. Wir bekamen (trotz Reservierung für 3 Personen, dazu noch 2 Monate im Voraus) für 3 Personen nur zwei Betten und reden/bitten hat nicht geholfen. Das Essen war sehr eintönig, Personal war mehr beschäftigt mit Reden als mit irgend etwas anderen. Schreckliche Erfahrung.

Sa seule raison d'exister est d'être en centre ville (proche de la Grande Poste). Chambre microscopique. Équipements de la chambre : Difficile de faire moins... peut-être supprimer le lit !! et le matelas dépasse du sommier Pas de table de nuit, Armoire = caisse en planche pas stable avec 2 cintres Pas de petit meuble pour poser un bagage ni de quoi accrocher un vêtement Heureusement cabinet de toilette / douche petit mais pas en trop mauvais état. Et le débit de la chambre a été fait le jour d'arrivée (normal !) mais sans nous en avertir ! Petit déjeuner simple mais OK avec du personnel agréable.

Hotel well located in heart of city centre with easy access to buses, restaurants & coach station. Lovely STAFF as well. However, rooms are small & with very little facilities; shower is particularly small. My 5 year old son and I had one of the most terrible nights in our life there, our third & last night at Avondale Guest House as a drunkard who occupied the room adjacent to ours was shouting or rather roaring after midnight while playing very loud music and using obscene language. Unfortunately even after complaining to the receptionist who had a word with him, he was still going wild... my little son was too scared to sleep in his bed and thus we both squeezed in mine.

We booked this hotel last minute after Christmas and therefore didnt have time to resesrch or read the reviews. The staff were polite and helpful and although the irish breakfast was really good and the young girl at the breakast gave us the best service ever (she's so sweet & attentive)- the hotel conditions should be improved immediately. We had a shower in the room with only room temperature to cold water for a couple of minutes, then no water at all...the shower was very small, the door didnt close which i don't mind but also don't want to make and leave a mess. No lift so if you are bringing big luggage, be ready! The internet connection on the top floors is very limited. I wouldn't complain so much if the price were cheaper but it wasn't. I'd recommended you to spend 5€ more and book another hotel.

Alright place, though the facility is not in the best shape. Breakfast was alright. The best part about it is the prime location. Definitely worked out for a quick getaway in an awesome city. Highly recommend checking out the Free Dublin City Tours that meet at the spire at 11am, 3pm, and 6pm. A flyer about the tour is posted in the lobby.

Ottima posizione centrale, personale molto gentile e disponibile. Colazione buona ma struttura trasandata si vede che manca la manutenzione (pareti con segni), arredo della camera quasi inesistente (un armadio piccolo e completamente aperto che non stava neanche dritto) infine un cattivo odore di tubature in bagno.

Für den Preis klasse
Die Lage ist klasse, und der Airlink-Bus hält ein paar Schritte die Straße hoch. Das Zimmer war originell geschnitten, durch eine zusätzliche Wand wurde wohl aus einem normal proportionierten zwei gemacht, der Fernseher Anno Tuck, die Dusche im Zimmer eng. Die Toiletten für unser Zimmer waren auf dem Zwischenflur, zehn Stufen hoch. Wenn man genauer hinsah, gab es einige Mängel, was den Zustand des Hauses betraf, die Möbel zusammengesucht, die Fenster eher dreckig, und als ich ein auf dem Schrank abgelegtes Tablet wieder hervorholte, war es voller Staubmäuse. ABER: die Betten waren sauber, die Teppiche gut gesaugt, die Gemeinschafts-WCs werden rund um die Uhr blitzsauber gehalten, es gibt 24-Stunden-Rezeption, ein tolles irisches Frühstück, und alle Bediensteten waren sehr, sehr freundlich. Der Ausblick in den Innenhof eher deprimierend bis schäbig, aber dafür war es nachts sehr ruhig. Fazit: Für den Preis klasse, wenn man ein zentral gelegenes, günstiges Hotel sucht, keine Mega-Ansprüche hat und ein Gemeinschafts-WC okay ist.

The staff were nice, and breakfast was good. The room itself was quite disappointing. I could touch both sides of the room at the same time. The bed wasn't bad as such but not great. The bthrooms were clean but shared, as stated in the ad. Shower in the room was tiny, seen larger shower cubicles in caravans. The TV is an old CRT. I haven't seen one in at least 10 years. I didn't even turn it on. The WiFi worked well though.

Good location for Dublin
The hotel was good and location was fairly central to Dublin and airport bus dropped you off and picked you up a few metres from hotel. The staff were friendly and the full English breakfast was excellent with toast and tea or coffee and cereal and orange juice if wanted! Fairly central and easy walk to nearby shops and sightseeing venues. It was nice hotel and would stay there again.

Spoiler alert! If you booked based on their website reviews then do yourself a favour and do a google review 1st, there is a large disparity In review ratings but you can judge why, (google is roughly one star but their own website has a 4.5 star customer rating???) still trying to figure out how this can happen, does the owner delete negative reviews off the website maybe??? Staff are friendly enough but even they acknowledge that the condition of the premises is terrible and apologised for their website being misleading. Our room had visible aged spit or vomit and other liquids on the walls that was at least a week old ( did the linen get changed during this week?) wet areas are rarely if ever cleaned, room is very noisy because you are beside reception and under a staircase. Room security is a dodgy lock (see other reviews re security - they are true). This place is uninhabitable, we paid $150 eu, for that we could get a room elsewhere (which we did) that is 3*** or better, Avondale would be lucky to rate as 1* accomodation and you would only stay there if you were desperate. I seriously feel sorry for the staff having to continually apologise to disgruntled guests who have been duped into paying for overpriced fees for severely sub standard accomodation. We were lucky enough to get a refund but we also obtained a heap of photographs to support our request! Please please, please avoid this venue and do your research on other forums, this place is a tip!

Min värsta hotellupplevelse någonsin. Jag stod bara ut en av tre nätter och var tvungna att boka ett annat hotell för resterande nätter. Eget badrum stod i beskrivningen...det badrummet såg jag aldrig till. Toalett i ett hörn, duschkabin bredvid sängen och handfat bredvid en f.d. öppen spis. Duvor, råttor och möss sprang i innertak och väggar störde mig hela natten. Hittade fjädrar från duvor i ena sängen.... Smutsiga sängkläder... Ett hål i väggen var igensatt med tuggummi. Listan kan göras lång! För 3600:- borde man ha fått mer

One night stay at the Avondale
I found the hotel and its location fairly scary, homeless people, drunks, a large variety of life. The condition of the hotel on the outside was rundown and the inside was not much better. Really poor condition. Everywhere was dirty and old and I wasn't sure if I would stay. The room itself was old and tired looking. The shower and sink in the room were clean and the bed and bedding were clean as were the towels. The carpet was questionable, I really don't like carpets in hotel rooms as you have no idea what is in them or on them so I always have slippers with me. The occupants of the room next to me had a child with them who screamed and kicked furniture and the door for most of the evening so that was unpleasant. The bed was comfortable although I didn't sleep much as I was worried about what was going on around me.
