Beautiful oldie worldy hotel with stunning grounds. Some things a little dated & tired but all in all we had a lovely stay. The only thing I would improve would be to perhaps add potato bread & beans to the breakfast choice but that’s just my preference.

Great stay
It was a truly lovely stay as always. The only comment I would make is about the hot tub outside. It’s a pity it’s so grubby. Everything else was perfect and the new restaurant was ace! Loved every bite and what great service

Everything was spotless. Heating not adjusted to account for the freezing weather outside. Bar and restaurant quite chilly. Staff were lovely and the food was delicious

Great atmosphere
We stayed in the Balymascanlon, for one night last November, and were delighted to return , with my sister and her husband. From the moment you walk , in the door, it feels warm, and the Christmas decorations are amazing. The rooms were excellent, and the food in the main dining room was also excellent. The service , everywhere was first class. I would stronghly recommend this hotel.

We loved the homey-ness of this property. Loved the daily fires and lots of cozy sitting spaces. The food options were great, very tasty with reasonable variety. Very centrally located.

Pillows not soft enough for me personally. Noise insulation not good - you could hear the room above when the shower, bath and all was used, same with the room before. Reminded me more of being on a ferry

Wonderful stay
Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff and delicious food. My one and only comment for consideration would be to upgrade the lockers in the leisure centre. The lockers didn’t all have keys with armbands and the toilet doors could be upgraded also. Apart from that one tiny detail I was delighted with everything in and at the hotel.

Biz stop over
It was a one night business stop over. The food and staff were wonderful. The room was hot and I couldn't get the radiator off. The mattress may need to be replaced. I kept finding a dodgy spring! The room was ok but felt a little tired.
