Cabin stay
Location - 15 min to Safeway/Bashas , off the main road but still quiet, next door neighbors have a sweet blue heeler and some bulls/horses to see. We enjoyed a free tubing/sledding hill just a couple miles past “Pole Knoll Recreation Area” <- if you put that into your navigation you can’t miss it on the left. They provided 4 sleds but I think you’d have more fun if you brought tubes!

Get away for the holidays
This was a large cabin in the middle of Northeast Arizona. We wanted to get away from the hustle of big city life! Next door was a ranch with five steer, and we could see a few houses scattered in all directions, but 20 minutes from Springerville. Big tables to play games, do jigsaw puzzles. Enclosed back yard for our two dogs to run around in. We stayed for two weeks in December, snow on the ground. The main house is wrapped by an Arizona room across the south and west walls to help buffer the cold. A pot belly stove in the corner of the living room provided heat. A thermostat kicked it on and off automatically, which unfortunately filled the house with toxic gas fumes, requiring us to periodically open the doors to get fresh air. We stayed indoors the entire time. DirectTV, NetFlix and DVD player was nice to relax to. The water is "high mineral content" reddish color. Owners said safe to drink, but our two dogs would not touch it, and family followed suit. We bought bottled water for our two-week stay. We used the red water to shower and brush our teeth. All of the appliances were off until the morning of our arrival. Ice cream melted in the freezer, and food spoiled in the refrigerator. Even after two weeks, the refrigerator was not cold enough to keep food safe. The microwave did not work, and the owners ordered a new one to be installed after we left. The gas oven and range worked well, we were able to cook a turkey and roast for our special meals.

Nice place to stay
My family and I stayed at this property over a weekend and had a great time. There were some minor issues but they were remedied by the property owner. The property is beautiful and well kept. It has everything you need and more. Super kid friendly, lots of toys and space for the kids to run and play. Firepit in the back is nice for those cold nights. There is a really nice gas stove/oven if you like to cook as well as a grill. I've stayed in Pinetop, Greer, Eagar, Alpine and now Nutrioso. I would say Nutrioso is the most secluded. There are houses around but just spaced further apart than the other areas I have stayed. At night its really quiet and you can see a lot of stars.

Fun family getaway
Had an amazing and relaxing time, this cabin was spacious and easy to find. We had all the amenities you could possibly need! Enjoyed all the quality family time playing with the endless board games, and of course being outside in the cool weather! The Nelson reservoir was super close, although we didnt catch any fish, we saw lots of Elk, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Connecting to the Wifi, and using the TV was easy and convenient. If we had to make one recommendation it would be to have easier access to the creek behind the house, like a gate from the yard, with a path. Definitely will keep this place on our must visit again list....perhaps for the holidays, or when there is snow!!!

Beautiful Home and Property
We are from the valley and were looking forward to getting away to the cool country. We were NOT disappointed. It was almost 30 degrees cooler in Nutrioso. The property was off the highway enough as not to hear any traffic but, not so far off that you would feel isolated. There is a neighbor pretty close but it didn't matter, the stay was very quiet. The home itself was gorgeous with almost every amenity you could think of (except air conditioning). We had a very relaxing, quiet, nice time. We will most likely rent again.

Always a pleasure
This is our third stay at this retreat and it didn't disappoint. The cabin was clean and well stocked with fun toys and games for the little ones. The stove was new and made cooking for eight a delight. We cought fish at the reservoir a few miles away and explored the surrounding mountain areas. Our pug even made friends with the neighbor dog! It was a great stay and always a family favorite.

Cabin Getaway
We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin is charming and met all of our needs (me, my husband, our three children, and my in-laws). The views of the mountains from the cabin were beautiful and my kids loved exploring the fenced backyard. They also loved staying in the Bear Room! It is the perfect kid's room complete with a twin bed, bunk bed, and a fun loft. We spent lots of time outdoors and fished at the nearby reservoir. The owners were more than helpful and provided lots of information not only about the property but nearby things to do and see. We would love to come back and stay again!

Nice little getaway
This is our second stay at the Palmer Cabin and was the best vacation we had all summer. We love that there is plenty of space for the kids to run around and lots of toys and games to keep them busy. My kids loved the hammock out back and the lofted space in the bear room. We enjoyed dinners in the sun room with the beautiful view of the surrounding greenery through the large windows. I personally loved the beds which were all very comfy. We spent a good time at the surrounding lakes and forest areas during the day but my kids couldn't wait to get back to the cabin! We plan to stay again.

Very comfortable family home!
I was impressed when I originally saw the pictures, and was very happy to see it was as advertised. We had a bit of rain everyday and the landscape was so green! Our grandkids enjoyed the creek in back, and the R Lazy J Ranch Zoo was a big hit with us all. Very relaxing week.

Vacation Away From the Heat of Phoenix
The cabin locations to various lake and pond was excellent. Nelson Reservoir was the go to for fishing. The cabin was stocked very well with utensils, cups, plates and spices. The cabin was large enough for a large group to enjoy the weather. We arrived 30 minutes early to check the cabin out but had to wait until 4 pm due to the previous users had a shedding dog in the cabin. The cleaner had a difficult time removing the hairs. The reason why I gave it a four star was because I couldn't give it a 3 1/2 star. The toilet bowl's holding tanks were not kept properly. The up stair's guest was concerns with the bed sheets not being clean. We used the washer and dryer the was available inside the cabin. Nothing against the owner of the property, they might review the cleaner's ability to maintain the rental. Overall, if you like watching wildlife, Nutrioso and Alpine has an abundance to view. We would visit this cabin again in the future.

The cabin was great! Although it was a little warm in the evenings, it was nice. Our biggest concern was that we woke up day 2 with a lot of bug bites. We did our usual bed bug check and did not find any, but did not wantvto take any chances. It has required us to keep all of our belongings outside and wash each item before we can bring them inside. I would highly recommend calling an exterminator as the bite oatterns do resemble bed bugs

Great Hosts
We had a wonderful time in this cabin. We spent 7 days and loved the cooler weather. Early on I ran into an issue with VRBO (not host fault) but they worked with me to get it taken care of. We enjoyed the space. The details of every inch is so thoughtful. Antlers for lights, stained windows, dresser full of games, oversized large rockers for my big guys, horseshoes out back and a hammock, the list goes on. It was fully stocked and filled with everything you need. The one little tiny bit is the knocking from the old pipes when using the hot water. It scared us at first but then we realized soon after what it was. But at least you get piping hot water. It’s a little tricky to get the right temperature but once we did we never ran out of hot water. We spent most of our time down by the black river and Big Lake and even though it was a 24 mile one way trip, it took about 45 minutes one way because how slow you have to drive and where we wanted to go. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin. We loved our time here. We got to see Big Horn sheep, a gray Mexican wolf and lots of elk. It was beautiful.

Great Place for All Ages
The property was exactly what we needed. Plenty of space for a large family. Extremely kid friendly and has a stockpile of toys and board games for all ages. It has an easy check in and check out process.

Never again
The first impression was that everything was dusty but it is a cabin so that wasn’t a deal breaker, took allergy pills and had tissues handy. Started to really fall in love with the space, yard, hammock, fire pit and of course the views. We have AT&T and it never worked here. The Wi-Fi is not fast enough to work from here. The last couple of days we have been bitten by bed bugs I’m sure. My moms ankles, legs and hands are covered in bites and apparently she’s allergic to whatever is biting us. It’s pretty horrible that we’ll be going home not knowing if we’re bringing bugs with us. There won’t be any resting once we get to our hometown, we’ll be at the laundromat washing and drying everything. I did message the host last night when the bites became apparent they were not mosquitoes and I have yet to hear from them.

Cabin was assessed from a professional team and even though they didn't find any bugs, all steps were taken for treatment anyway as we would never leave anything to chance for a future guest. Because there was a swallow bird nest that can carry bugs it was removed off the exterior eve and netted (to keep nesting off cabin). The exterior and interior were sprayed and continue a monthly service and inspection in an abundance of caution. Also, all bedrooms were heated to 140 degrees for 12 hrs each in addition which kills all possible bug, covid viruses, bacteria and fungus and is a practice every 3 months. All mattresses and pillows already have full encasements. All the bedding, was washed on hot with 2 dry cycles. Between every stay all the bedding is washed (even 5 hrs between stays) there are 2-3 sets per bed to utilize. When there isn't enough time to wash everything in that time allotment, it is bagged and brought to a local laundry. We are very dedicated to our Guests health and well-being and always take any reported issue very seriously when we are alerted, so that swift action can be taken to resolve any problem that should arise.

Pictures did not give this place enough credit. Better and bigger than the pictures show. Large enough for a family gathering. Cleaning service is great and left the place spotless. Highly recommend and would come back here again.

Family fun
Our stay here was amazing we went to the cabin with no plans, just get away from home and relax. We were worried about the kids getting bored, but the house had plenty of activities to keep them occupied. The toy rooms kept the Littles busy for hours and made our travel easier not having to bring toys from home and keep track of them. There is a 360 view that is absolutely wonderful. This stay was one for the books and will be the place we stay at from now on.

Peace and quiet
We loved this location. The sun room was the best! I’d suggest bringing bottled water, as the water is truly terrible. We did have some issues. We weren’t able to turn the heat down so it was stifling at night and you couldn’t crack open a window. The back yard is fenced which is good for the dogs, however it was nothing but overgrown weeds with black pickers on them. Our dogs were covered in them and so were our pants. If the yard was cleaned up we would certainly stay again.

Could not have been better!
The property was beautiful, peaceful, and had everything we could have needed. We only had to bring food, cloths, and toiletries in addition to the fishing gear. The kitchen is large enough for multiple people to move around and the bedrooms are perfect for everyone, from single person to families with children. We all really loved the atmosphere, which helped us take the relaxing break we really needed as a group of pastors and staff. We are looking forward to returning as soon as possible. Thanks for the very blessed time we had!

Cool Cabin for the entire family
The cabin was roomy and will prepared for our visit. I would recommend bringing your own drinking water. The property water supply comes from a well and the water has a distinct iron smell to it. Outside grounds do need some landscaping attention. The location is convenient too lakes and lots of hiking. I would recommend the cabin.

Great place, centrally located.
What a great place to stay out in the country. We took our side by side vehicles with us and we were able to see lots of country that we have camped in the past. This cabin is very large, very clean and the back yard is fenced in for the dogs. What a relaxing week.

Enjoy the fresh air
Great location and space to spread out. Owner's quick to respond to water pressure issues. Sent a plumber right out and fixed the problem. We had a wonderful week long stay. We enjoyed the many lakes, fresh air and watching the rainstorms. Thank you for sharing your cabin at an affordable price.

Step Up From Glamping
Perfect place for kids. So many toys and activities and supplies. Not so amazing for city slickers. Water pressure wasn’t more than a trickle, the one a/c unit didn’t provide much relief from the heat (generally 78+ degrees inside at all times), cooking in the kitchen traps in heat for the main area of the house, each mattress has an obvious body imprint making for a lumpy sleep. Wifi was about 1.5 mbps download, and maybe .1 mbps upload. The check in was perfect. Our dogs loved getting out in the yard. The Arizona room was a great spot to get a breeze and cool down. Lots of space for a big group. Kitchen was well stocked. The price fits, but would probably be worth it to charge more to get some more updates (mattresses, oven, a/c). Owner was very responsive to messages.

as i stated the overall trip was great, we had an incident with the house one day, we called the owner and they responded with speed, took care of the problem and all was well, only thing would be the water pressure was bad, but the fishing trip was a successful one

Great
Owner was prompt at responding and all needs were met in a timely fashion. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook at the cabin. Lots of games and toys for the kids. Centrally located between Alpine and Springerville so we were able to take advantage of activities in both towns. Great set up for a large family or a couple of families.

Our favorite place!
This was our third time staying at this cabin. We love it!! It is perfect. It had a few things with the water but as homeowners ourselves we understand things like this. I have 4 kids 8 and under and they had a blast here. We stayed here with another couple who have a 2 year old. We have the tradition of making s’mores over the fire pit. We contributed a hatchet by accident but we hope it stays there for others to use to make memories over the fire pit too.

Wonderful stay
Beautiful area, the cabin is perfect for families, my kids loved it! The location is perfect for driving to new spots every day. Greer (the most beautiful place on earth) is about 40 mins away. There's so many lakes and rivers to fish and during my stay(Memorial weekend) we were at times, the only people at the lakes. It was perfect to escape the crowds of the more popular destinations. The hosts are very responsive and provide a very comfortable stay.

HORRIBLE STAY
VERY VERY OLD PLACE ! BEDROOMS ARE OUTDATED. BED BUGS EVERYWHERE . PLUMBING AND WATER WERE HORRIBLE. CLEANING WAS LIE DIRTY ! WOULDNT RECOMMEND TO STAY HERE 1 OUTTA 10 JUST CAUSE LOCATION WAS GOOD.
