This was my first VRBO booking, chosen for my brother’s bachelor weekend with 8 adults. The listing photos are outdated—backyard, pool, and landscaping were run down, paint and stonework neglected, and the pool was dirty with leaves on outdoor furniture. Although the listing mentions on-site maintenance, no one came except when called. Inside, rooms didn’t match the listing, and there was an unlisted extra room with a trundle bed in an awkward location requiring inconvenient bathroom access. Extra “beds” were uncomfortable slipper chairs or broken folding twins. The host sent Jose (fantastic and helpful) who provided linens, two inflatable mattresses, and purchased serveware, bowls, skewers, and a rice cooker upon request. The house had minimal essentials—low coffee, no large platters, and little restocking.A major concern: on day two, we found a dead rabbit in the pool skimmer and later a mouse fell into the pool and drowned. It’s unclear how long the rabbit was there, which was unsettling since we had swum the night before. Reaching the host was slow and VRBO support was unhelpful. While wildlife is expected outdoors, some pest control measures should be in place.Overall, the property feels poorly maintained, overcrowded with extra beds, and inadequately equipped for the 14 people advertised. Realistically, it’s comfortable for at most 8 adults.
