It showed a price of $743.79 when I booked, but I was actually charged $823.81 at check-in. They blamed it on the exchange rate, but this didn't happen with any of my other bookings in Argentina.

The price we show is the correct one. We do not charge any extra amount. We convert the usd tariff into ARS (local currency) to charge and make the credit card transaction. Then Visa, MC o AMEX apply their exchange rates. The hotel is not responsible for how credit cards or banks operate.

Unhelpful staff for the high cost
The hotel staff was extremely unhelpful and sometimes rude. The two women working the front desk seemed annoyed whenever we asked them simple questions. They also charged us more than what we booked for. They said it was the law and that we’d get a refund on our credit card but it hasn’t worked like that at any other hotel in Argentina. The hotel is clean / located in a good spot. After walking around El Chalten and seeing other hotels / hostels, I wish I had gone with a more affordable option because everything in town was pretty comparable in quality.

Fantastic place to stay
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was great as well. We particularly loved the staff who was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

This was a great property just off the main street - very walkable to the main hiking trails. The Premium room was brand new with modern furnishings and was very comfortable. Breakfast was great and the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Exceptional stay
Everything at El Puma exceeded my expectations. The room was amazing, felt brand new. The staff were very helpful and kind. I would highly recommend El Puma.

From the moment we walked into El Puma we loved it It had been refurbished since we had booked it to a very stylish contemporary look great use of colour and art works The location is perfect off the main road and close to everything The staff exceptional and so helpful Highly reccomend

Lovely spacious comfortable rooms, nice breakfast, friendly helpful front desk. The property itself could be improved to look a little nicer outside, but that didn't detract from our stay at all. Highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect base for trekking
Had a wonderful stay at Hosteria El Puma - perfect location, great activities nearby and really kind, helpful staff. It was great going back to such a nice hotel after all our trekking. Would highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Hosteria El Puma. The location is very good, it's in town, but off the Main Street and close to all the hiking trails. The staff was very friendly. They were helpful and attentive to all requests and even introduced us to mate, sharing theirs and explaining how to make it. The lobby area with the fireplace was a great place to sit and relax after a hike. The room was very nice. It was simple but very clean. Breakfast was nice, although simple with a variety of fruits, breads, yogurt, etc. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hosteria El Puma and would highly recommend it.

Felt right at home and super clean
So happy we chose this hotel after a long hike from Laguna Toro. Easy check in, very clean room and bathroom. Showers had fabulous water pressure, and the candy in lobby and room was a nice touch. The breakfast was wonderful and our server was so sweet. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I like the decoration, the staff was really nice and helpful, the beds are comfortable and the rooms a nice and spacious. Breakfast was great. I did not like the quality of the internet. I was in room 12 which had no access to the wifi. Additionnally, internet crashes in the lobby very regularly.

Cool clean hotel in a Great Location
El Puma is a wonderful small hotel. It has a very nice feel to it -- casual hip. The staff is very friendly and their English excellent. The hotel is very clean. The free breakfast was excellent. And the location is very close to the starting points of the Fitz Roy and Cerri Torre treks.

Incrível! A pousada havia aberto para a temporada há apenas 4 dias, toda remodelada. Tudo cheiroso e muito lindo. Funcionários super amáveis, café da manhã completíssimo, com chef à disposição. Tudo ótimo.

Viel zu teuer für das, was man bekommt
Das Frühstück war einfallslos, das Brot bröselte, heißes Wasser Tee wurde sehr schleppend nachgeliefert. Den Tisch könnte man sich nicht aussuchen. Das WLAN funktionierte im Zimmer selten und auch in den Gemeinschaftsbereichen schlecht. Die Tische und Sets klebten und im Bad waren die Wischspuren von Jahren an der unteren Fliesenreihe zu sehen. Kein Lampenschirm, kein Spiegel, kein Bild hing grade. Die Dusche war allerdings die Beste, die wir je in Argentinien hatten. Es muß das Management gewechselt haben, denn wir waren vorher schon zweimal dort, und es war wesentlich besser geführt. Alles in allem völlig überpreist!

Einfache Hosteria, sehr zuvorkommendes herzliches Personal, große Zimmer. Frühstück nicht empfehlenswert (sehr wenig Auswahl, schlechte Qualität). Zimmertemperatur lässt sich nicht gut regeln. Badezimmer renovierungsbedürftig.
