This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Frankfurt right next to the Old Opera House. Perfectly situated for exploring the city. Hotel is spotless and staff cant do enough for you. Breakfast is fantasic, facilities and rooms are great. Cant fault it.

Unfortunately I feel compelled to leave a less than stellar review following my stay. Firstly I booked my stay as I had a lengthy stopover and paid a very high rate for the property, yes it was New Years Eve although even the hotel front desk staff told me that they are mainly a business hotel and had not been busy, regardless - given the rate, I had high expectations. The rooms look nothing like the pictures - and I mean nothing! Upon seeing the room I was checked into, I went back to reception and showed them the pictures of my room category and said it looked nothing like it. I was then checked into another room which was the same situation. The toilet also had not VERY CLEARLY been flushed from the last user. There is also no full length mirror in the room, despite there being at least wardrobe doors where one could be put on the inside. The service during breakfast was outstanding however.

My wife and I enjoyed an outstanding three days at the Sofitel while visiting friends. There were many positive things about the hotel itself, including the room (heated bathroom floors were a nice touch), maid and turndown service, amenities offered and dining options. That said, a hotel is only as good as the staff that deals with the customer. EVERYONE we met during our stay met us with a smile, a helpful attitude and a willingness to go out of their way to assist us in any form or fashion. Thank you! We will return again!
