Awesome beach house
This beach house is perfect for all occasions. Family and friends really enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Think we lived outside the whole time we were there. I would definitely rent here again. The hosts were great also. Very attentive and made sure everything went well and that we didn't need anything. I thought the gift basket was a sweet gesture as well. Highly recommend.

Our family Christmas in July
The house was just as described and the pool, even being close to the ocean, was a wonderful addition for our group! We had a total of 18 people with ages 54-3 months and had more than enough space. Any questions or concerns were answered in minutes with the property manager being more than accommodating! The outdoor shower & restroom was great to have. I will advise (which we knew ahead of time) the bottom floor (bunk room) does have a window unit but any additional fans you might want to bring is highly recommended as it does stay warmer due to traffic and just the fact of it being more of extra room. Only about 1/4 mile to the ocean (maybe a little more as I walked it each morning). Neighborhood was nice and no safety concerns at all! Our family said they had the absolute best time and we weren’t ready to leave this morning!

Great place for a family vacation !
The house was great for the amount of people we had, plenty of bathrooms and the pool and hot tub were well kept. A very short golf cart or car ride to the beach, we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to stay at the shipwreck again!

Great for our large family
We are an extended family of 16 adults and three children and have been doing a "Christmas in July" family vacation for about 15 years. My biggest challange is finding a place that will sleep that many comfortably, has wheelchair access and also has a pool. This checked all the boxes! Sleeping arrangements were tight with some of the adults having to sleep on bunk beds, but we were aware of this beforehand and were willing to do so for a couple of days. The home was very clean. We really enjoyed the pool and spent most of our time there except for the one day some of us went to the beach. It was well maintained and there were plenty of pool floats. The Tiki bar and plenty of seating around the pool was an added benefit. There was a hammock, but it was old and weatherworn and tore when someone got in it. The two complete kitchens were really handy with our large group because we cooked most of our meals there. There were plenty of bathroom supplies and refills, even shampoo and body wash in the bathrooms. Only problem I encountered was the WiFi was spotty; however some others didn't have that problem, so it might have just been my phone. We really enjoyed our stay at The Shipwreck.

Great host but old house
We had an AWESOME host, but the house was old and needed some work. It was not what we expected for the money we paid. Pool needs major upgrade, not all tvs worked like they were suppose to (did not have cable only smart tv), did not have central air throughout, upstairs stove wasn’t level so hard to cook on, floor in master bedroom needed repair work, gate to back of house did not lock so back was not secure. All in all it was OK for an old outdated house.

The house is the right size for a group. The house was extremely dirty downstairs we had to call the
The house was the right size for our group. Downstairs did not stay cool at all and had a smell that was atrocious. I had to go down to little store and buy plug-ins and spray to see if I can get rid of the smell. The property manager did come out the next morning and tried to scrub all the mold and whatever it was underneath the sink. so if you have a large group the downstairs doesn’t really help out in sleeping arrangements they have one little air conditioner and it was so hot and miserable to sleep.The pool does not Like it is in the pictures. We got there on Thursday and by Saturday it was turning green.. It is above ground pool that’s dug down into the ground. Overall I would get the place at three.stars. With that being said the location is perfect and Jamaica beach was really easy to get to buy golf cart. The property manager was extremely nice. But I think they’re asking a little more money than what the place is worth. It is extremely outdated. I provident meant manager Misty did her best. She was extremely easy to work with..

Thank you for your honest review. This property is now under new management. We are listening to you, our guests, and making many needed changes and upgrades. The renovations will be complete by April 2023. I hope you will accept my sincerest apologies that your stay was not to your satisfaction. Great location
Overall, we really enjoyed the property. Missy & Tanya were great communicators. Overall, my family really enjoyed the property. It is dated and could use updating or just tossing out some of the old furniture, swings, pool cushions. Not going to lie, the mosquitos will carry you away at night, nothing we did could improve that. The location was about a 10 min walk to beach access. Ok for adults but the kids would get tired on the walk back. Thanks again to Missy who always answered my calls!

Great experience
The house certainly was as expected. The grill in the backyard really didn’t work so we cooked our hamburgers inside. The downstairs had a musty smell and the games really didn’t work but we didn’t really miss them. Some other renters might. Overall a good stay

Fabulous at 50 with family
It was a good stay everyone was friendly. The place needs some repairs done. If you have toddler be carful they have two glass coffee tables . Furniture needs replaced , it is old and worn. The upstairs couch has a recliner but it is broken . We did enjoy the pool and the outside area . Unfortunately the hot tub was not working properly while we were there. And in the evening the water bugs were everywhere out side . I did not see any in the house . We did enjoy our stay at the house and would stay there again.

Perfect Accommodations
We have nothing negative to say. Tana and Missy made our first time renting an absolute pleasure. The home was perfect and accomodated our family of 18 in ways that far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be return customers.

Family get together
We really enjoyed this property. It allowed us enough space and division for the older and younger family members staying there. The team managing the property were responsive and helpful. I would recommend renting.

Galveston 2021
The house is able to accommodate multiple guests comfortably. Pro- pool outside patio area. Girls enjoyed tanning bed. Guy’s foosball table. The kitchen was well equipped to cook for family. We played games worked puzzle together so dining table good size for family activity. Cons- If you have anyone with mobility problems not house to rent!!House is need of minor repairs and TLC. Bedrooms on second floor need shades replaced bought sheets with me used as cover for privacy. TV didn’t work in any of the rooms but didn’t go there to watch them! Cleaning needs to be improved but we enjoyed our stay.

My family had a great time my husband and I did not get to go because my husband got covid 2 weeks before and he has been in icu fighting the family all had fun had plenty of room we will definetly get to go next year hated that we missed it but everyone said they had a great time just missed us being able to go so if your looking for a place to go and have fun this is it don’t pass it up

Family Getaway
Adequate indoor space for couples with families. The large seating arrangements with a big screen TV in the living area allowed us to play games together and watch a movie. The gameroom is great for kids to hangout mainly for the separate space, video game access, and separate bathroom with access to pool. If you like the outdoors, the covered upstairs porch and patio allow for protection from the sun but still supervision for the pool. The pool and hot tub were really a great attraction for our group, as well as, easy access to beach by car. The property is outdated on the inside, but the beds are comfortable, kitchen space adequate, and location away from the mainstream a plus.

Okay, overall.
We had a great time, my kids enjoyed it the most. I was really looking forward for the hot tub but never warmed up. Also the first main floor where garage was converted to room/ 2nd full kitchen needed a good cleaning. We found two plates inside the oven that were placed in there from previous renters that were moldy. Most remotes to the TV's do not work. Overall it was an okay stay as long as my kids had fun it was all that matter to me really.

Icky and outdated.. but there's a pool!
I'm not sure how this place has such a high rating. The pool and the hot tub (the only reason we booked) are the only redeeming qualities of this overpriced house. The inside hasn't been touched in 20 years, from the green carpet and worn-in, cowhide-themed couch to the grimy game/bunk/kitchen dungeon, it was all pretty clean but just... icky. The propane grill is advertised but there was no propane and even after purchasing propane ourselves we couldn't get the grill to light. The hosts don't supply hand soap in every bathroom so get ready to make the gauntlet run down the mossy carpeted stairs to hand off the antibacterial. You can just tell the hosts are cheap. It's passable but laughable at the same time. Look elsewhere for accommodations.

I realize people are stressed and all due to this last year etc. but it amazes me that someone can just put a bad review and false statements on your property page because they are a mean spirited individual. I expected something like this from you as you were exceptionally difficult and rude about your late check in. Have a nice day! :)

House not clean at all, I don't even think extra COVID precautions are in place!!!!
We rented the house because it was my daughters 18th B-day. We wanted to celebrate as a family and we did just that. It wasn't all bad I really liked the house but once i walked in i knew it hadn't been properly cleaned. The downstairs smelled like cigarettes and beer. 2nd floor just smelled like it hadn't been cleaned properly and it hadn't been. We found chips behind the TV in the 2nd floor living room. Dirty ceiling fans. Old furniture and old out dated TV's with no batteries in the controls. House was infested with roaches. OMG and I found someone's robe (previous renter) in between mattress and footboard of the bed in the 2nd floor master plus an old clothing tag from walmart. Overall the house was just super dirty! Outside the house was not as pictured, Missing hammocks and swings. Grill didn't work well and the firepit was hard to turn on. Hot tub water was murky and when i asked the owner about it she wanted to charge me extra to get it cleaned! Outside shower was not working and the outside sink was leaking onto the outside to the floor. It kinda ruined my relaxing weekend because we had to clean and wash thoroughly any dishes we needed to use instead of just rinsing! I am sure that with proper cleaning details and making some updates on the house it would be great to stay there. When I brought this all up to owner she just said she would bring it up to the attention of the cleaning crew. If it were my house I would be mortified and more concerned than just bringing it to their attention!

This is an unfair review. I realize there were a couple of things that were not in order but the guests have been consistently trashing the houses this last season. As to your comment regarding the hot tub, they are drained and refilled for every rental. Additionally, the house is not infested with roaches, there are roaches in Galveston, there is not much you can do to prevent them outside.

Must Rent!
I just loved it, we didnt want to leave, there is a lot of space, I my group we had 6 toddlers and this house was very secure, there is big backyard where they can play, the pool amazing everything was a 10 to 10 😍

Fun house!
My son-in-law called it the MTV house. Everybody had their space and fun stuff to do. The little guys made a “fort” out of the bunk beds. The big guys grilled some delicious food and everyone loved having the pool out under the gigantic palm trees. Definitely rent a golf cart from the owner because that was fun and made going to hunt crabs at night so convenient. I hope we can come back again and make more good memories!

Great property, love that is out at Jamaica Beach which makes it quiet and away from the crowding of Galveston Beach. The neighbors had parties while we were there, but maybe it was because of the holidays and not a usual thing. Lots of things to do at the house was a great feature for days we didn’t want to get out. Very spacious!

Loved this house!
This property was perfect for our large group. It was easy to check-in and we had everything we needed right from the start. We had an awesome time in the backyard and the pool and made multiple trips a day to the beach since it was just down the road (even walked a few times). Thanks for everything!!!

Our 2nd family vacation in Jamica Beach
Last year we rented The Mermaid and this year The Shipwreck. Both properties are awesome and everything was perfect. With our group of 13 we had plenty of room and didnt use all the beds. We had a little problem with the pool that was quickly resolved and the owners went above and beyond to compensate. We had a great time and will definately be back.

Great gathering spot!
We had a large group staying on the property for 4 nights and another large group staying down the street. We opened the garage doors downstairs and served meals to a group of 39 each evening and it was great! Tana was very responsive and helpful.
