Overcharged for unwanted room with no working TVs
I was set up in a one bedroom suite for the first night and charged $239 before taxes. There were two tv's in the room and neither one worked. When the front desk was asked about the tv's they said their maintenance guy would be there in 2 days (not helpful). I was still charged the full price and when I went to change rooms the next day, I was stuck back in the same suite, with no working tv's. The front desk staff was very friendly but not able to help much or get someone who could help find a solution to the problems. The room was mostly clean which was good.

$200 a night for a room that was spacious, had decent amenities, but was in bad need of a refurbishment. Paint, wall coverings and furniture were beat up. And carpet was torn and or wet in spots. Staff was friendly and would have asked for a different room but none were available that fit needs of our party.

Good enough
The accommodations were what I needed for my family of 5. The property itself is on the decline. There are many areas that are starting to look tired, dilapidated, and in need of maintenance.

Conveniently located off the interstate with food options close by. This place had the best free breakfast I've ever had at a hotel! We would definitely stay here again.

Could have been better!
Checked in just fine. Got to the room they assigned and it was under construction. Went back downstairs and the young man apologized and got us to a different room. The second room was fairly clean until we went to make out the extra bed. Sheets were filthy. The front desk apologized again and got us a clean set. The hallway had a very strong, weird aroma. Thankfully it did not continue to the room. Went downstairs to eat breakfast at 8:45 with a 10:00 stop time. Absolutely everything was out. My husband had to ask them to restock. It wasn’t the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Just expecting a higher standard for a Marriott.

Great stay. The full fridge and cooking area, although I didn't use, was unexpected and a great bonus! The room was well equipped, clean, and the bed comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

Almost Perfect
This was a very comfortable stay at the quiet edge of a retail center. Beds & pillows (firm & soft) comfy, shower comfy, room modern, spacious, and efficient. Loved the access to stream video on the TV (Netflix, Prime, Showtime, HBO, etc.) and the front desk was helpful, even loaning us board games when bad weather extended our stay. There was a small housekeeping issue--previous guest's trash was not emptied and I could not tell if dishes in dishwasher were clean or dirty. But the room and bath appeared perfectly clean. Breakfast was identical each day of my 5-day stay: cheese omelette, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, boiled eggs, cereal and carbs. A little variety would have been nice, but still nothing to complain about. They have a tiny outdoor pool, not open in December. But this made for a quiet stay as families with children no doubt booked the noisy hotels with indoor pools. (I've stayed in the one with the waterpark next door and there were kids all over. I think they had a slumber party in the hotel room across from mine. Ughhh!) I have a friend in town and I will likely stay here again.

Rooms were spacious and clean. It was, however, quite noisy in the morning, it may have been the cleaners. I was hoping to sleep in and was awoken by a loud knock around 9am. Otherwise this was a great hotel!

A great place to stay in Garden City. The rooms are nice and more like home than a hotel. They have a couch and TV so you not stuck sitting in bed to watch TV. Overall

I loved how great the service was during the day and at night! The only thing that wasn’t pleasing was the fact that the refrigerator didn’t work at all while we were there. Other than that everything was outstanding!

Covid surge, no masks, unsecured WiFi
Let me start by saying I travel quite a bit and understand that some places are nicer than others. I want a clean comfortable bed and a bit of quiet. A few things about this Garden City hotel: 1- Finney Cty, the surrounding areas, the state of Kansas and Garden City is in the middle of a surge of Covid. I’m here working at St Catherine’s because of it. No masks. Every single guest was walking around without a mask some coughing all over the place.No one asked them to mask up. 2-WiFi/internet is open and unsecured, which means I couldn’t log on to the university where I am taking classes nor the hospital EMR Epic. Even on my phone I had to turn off WiFi and use data just to browse. There was no password available. 3-The parking lot is rutted with pot holes. You might get a flat it’s so bad. 4-the last straw was I work at night and while I understand complete silence during the day is impossible and unreasonable, having construction workers outside my window on a cherry picker working on the room above mine from the outside with drills, hammers and what sounded like a jack hammer was too much. So I made arrangements somewhere else. I’m now staying down the street at Best Western and already it’s better. I still can’t believe the Marriott allows this to happen at one of their hotels
