Our family of four, stayed here, with a friend’s family of five. We had four adults, two young teens and three kids. All of rooms are very spacious and the kitchen is well stocked. Some beds were better than others, but overall, we all slept well. This house has older finishes, but I believe it adds to the charm of a Gatlinburg vacation. The deck has plenty of seating with a hot tub and spectacular views. We had a bear visitor three times and watched him/her try to get into our vehicles. Don’t forget to keep those doors locked.
We arrived in town early and planned to eat and check out the area, until the 4:00 check in time, but received a phone call stating that it would be later than 4:00 for check in, as the cleaners were not finished. We arrived at the house shortly after 4:00 and waited in the driveway for the cleaners to finish. We entered the house around 4:45 but they continued outside, refilling the hot tub. Our other guests didn’t arrive until 5:00, so it really wasn’t a big deal. You could tell the house had been cleaned, very quickly. There was a lot of dust and cobwebs, the sheets were clean, but the bedspreads and shams didn’t look clean. the bathrooms and kitchen were cleaned well. The house did have a faint pet small, after the smell of the cleaning products wore off. The hot tub had been freshly filled, but because is it isn’t treated properly with chemicals and ph adjustments, it got pretty bad, pretty fast. I believe they just empty it after each week, refill it, and throw in the floating chlorine tablets. It did get hot, which was great. We loved using the hot tub in the mornings and evenings. The only thing we had issues with were, the lower level toilet, wasn’t bolted to the floor, the upstairs and lower level showers had very weak pressure (the main level was fine), and the tv in the master didn’t work. The floors are very squeaky and you can hear every step and voice through, to the level below. Overall it was a great place for the price, especially for a large group.
The drive up to the cabin is beautiful and adventurous. The view off of the deck was worth every penny! I would rent this cabin again.
