Poor Experience

Upon our arrival, the Television did not work, and the heater in the livingroom stopped wort. I was able to finally figure out the heater. There was no ocean view as advertised nor was there a DVD Player as advertised. We received very poor response from Vacasa. I am expecting a refund for at least one night. I have never had issues in the past with Vacasa so hopefully, this is a fluke.

Great condo, great location

This is a nice place. Great location, easy walk to the beach, close to restaurants & grocery stores, very quiet. We arrived exactly at check-in time, and the housekeeper appeared to be right in the middle of cleaning up after the previous guests. It wasn’t a big problem, just headed to the beach for an hour, then came back, and the room was ready.The place could use a bit of a deeper cleaning, but other than that, had a very enjoyable stay, hope to return in the future.

Beautiful condo, quiet location, short walk to the beach

We enjoyed everything about the condo and would definitely stay again. Vacasa's communication was excellent, and our stay was trouble free. We did purchase 2 beach chairs and left them in the closet for future guests to use. Thank you so much!

The beach

It is not fancy but comfortable if you’re mostly out like we were. The best part is the location to almost a private beach that has sand dollars. It is peaceful and as we went after Labor Day quiet. I felt very safe there too as an older couple as on a nice golf club neighborhood.

Gearheart Getaway

This is a beautiful little condo well furnished and comfortable. The things we used were very clean, like the bed, bathroom, floors, kitchen supplies. Other things at the property need attention: dirty baseboards, dirty windows and sliding door tracks, mold growing on outside of shower door, kitchen stove venting, large dust bunnies under bed and dresser. Beach front description is deceiving because there are large sand dunes between the condo and the ocean, so you cannot see the ocean and the walk there is a rocky, rough trail - about half a mile. I appreciated the washer/dryer with complementary detergent. There was not much room for our personal items, as the closets and drawers were full of owner things and extra blankets, pillows, etc. The setting is quiet and peaceful. We had to cancel one of our three nights reserved and the rental agreement said 100% refund for cancellation within that time frame. We received only the current rental value of one night + tax, which was lower than what we paid, and none the fees were refunded. That was a 35% refund of what we had paid for that night. Many pros and cons, but we will not be returning to this property because it did not meet our needs.

Weeklong stay for Choir Conductor's Workshop - delightful.

We enjoyed 5 days at the ocean condo in Gearhart. The location was a perfect combination of quiet, west facing windows to the ocean, beach access within 100 meters, quick access to downtown, Seaside, and Warrenton. Our one bedroom was nicely furnished, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The only problem we had was from the outside hallway light shining in the door window all night. It was a delightful stay for us. Highly recommended.

Highly Recommend!

We stayed here for our 20th anniversary for 5 days and it was perfect. The beach was so close, the patio where we could hear the waves. The location is close to everything. The homey yet beachy vibe of the inside. Everything worked well and was clean. It was also really quiet and we loved McMenamins right across the street. We would definitely stay again!

Needs better cleaning and guest storage options

This unit is private and secluded from the rest of the surrounding complexes. The skylights make it bright and inviting. The floor plan is inviting and comfortable. Cleanliness: We checked in for a 4 day stay, and found the cleaning to be severely wanting. • Coffee grounds were found in the coffee pot and the burner plate never cleaned as black when wiped up with we paper towel. • Plates in the cupboard were put away wet. • The floor around the garbage pail had food scraps and coffee ground about it. • The area rug was not vacuumed as there were popcorn crumbs and kernels on the rug. • The laminate floor never saw a cleaning in months if not years, other than a wet Swifter mop which wets and moves the dirt around without picking it up. There needs to be an actual floor clearer product and mop used. The floor in the entry, kitchen and living area were filthy. In the reflection of the skylights, streaks of dirt and bare footprints could be seen within the dirt. A wet paper towel wiped within a small area turned black with grime. o The owner requested guests to remove shoes in the unit, but we could not ruin socks or dirty feet, and shoes remained on. We reported the problem of cleaning to the Vacasa number provided by the owner, and were told someone would respond. As of departure date, 5 days later, no one responded by phone or in person to remedy the reported lack of cleaning. Livability: If planning to stay more than one night, look elsewhere…… • There is no hanging st

Gearhart by the sea

Great property easy access to the beach. My only complaint is the bed was horrible and needs to be replaced. It was impossible to sleep on it for more than 5 hours. Once that is fixed you will get a 5 Star review

Good Luck Finding This Place

The name of the condos is Surfside, not Surfsand. It is not on Ocean rather the address is on 13th. The entry combo lock is on the door in a dark hall and hard to see(in the daytime). TV has 4 remotes and no instructions-4 different adults, including 2 with similar systems, unable to make work. Bath needs updating, rust, worn, caulking in shower. Very slow sink drain. And the bed has seen much better days-very squeaky. Could be a real cute place, but needs updating. The location is excellent and fairly private, close with easy access to the beach.

Someone Needs to dust and fix key placement

The key was in a box on the doorknob - poor liting made it difficult to see. The key box made the doorknob difficult to use. All the mopboards and bathroom fan were extremely dusry. So was the furniture. No tissue in the place. Understand do not flush facial tissues but no tissues at all? Shower door and inside shower need mold removed toilet was too low.

Perfect quiet getaway

For my birthday my sweetheart took me (and my small fur baby) to this quaint condo. The location was amazing and central to everything we needed. The area was quiet and almost private. Highly recommend!

Gearhart Stay

The unit was excellent and I recommend it for your visit to the Oregon Coast. Gearhart Golf Links and beach are within walking distance of the unit. I agree with posts regarding the tv...worthless. It won't mirror with apple products and there are no printed instructions such mirroring, disconnecting from Amazon Prime, etc. Only a method of removing your account from Netflix. The unit did not provide Kleenex or detergent for laundry. I called the property phone number and was told they don't provide either item. In a check-out text, I was asked to start laundry when we left...I responded and said we would had they provided detergent. So...bring your own laundry detergent and Kleenex when working with this management company. We ended up purchasing both a Safeway. Great unit...we'll stay there again....and bring Kleenex and detergent. P.S. - bring your computer to stream local tv stations and subscription services. John and Diane

Perfect Location

We loved the short walk to the beach, quiet area, the big comfy bed, all the kitchen supplies so we could cook our own meals, and that it was pet friendly. It was a perfect location to be able to have a short drive to visit Seaside, Cannon Beach, and Astoria. We loved our stay.
