Love the cows
We just love the farmhouse! We visited the cows daily, hiked to Pincushion Mtn right from the property, drank some fresh milk, played card games, kitchen is well equipped and we made all our meals . This was our 3rd trip to farm, and all 9 of us can’t wait to come back. Thank you , Lyndsay!

Time together
Well, there was no snow, but our hosts were lovely, showing hospitality daily, the farm was cool, there is plenty of opportunity for hiking here and in surrounding areas. The farm house was super comfortable and cozy with a very adequate kitchen for making meals. We loved it, young and old!

Amazing location, place, and host!
Lyndsay went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The place is beautiful and comfortable. The farm on which is situated is so cool, and Lyndsay even took her time to teach us about the cows and try milking them!

Christmas Ski-cation
An extended family of six, plus our daughter's dog made the stay as our base for skiing at Lutsen for 3 days after Christmas. The setting at the Farm House was extremely warm and inviting, and I don't think I've had a more comfortable vibe anywhere else! It was a great setting to unwind after full days on the slopes and was also very convenient to Grand Marais. I would love to return during the other Minnesota seasons, knowing it could accommodate a party even twice our size! Thanks so much Lindsay!

Perfect Ladies Week-End!
The loveliest home for our 12 lady week-end. They have all the amenities you need and all the cookware for a chef to come in and cook you a fabulous meal The hosts are wonderful people and the farm animals are just lovely.

Fun on the Farm!
We had a fun MEA weekend on the farm. It was a unique experience for the kids and Lyndsay was an excellent host! She was happy to share her time and knowledge about her farm with the kids, even letting them milk a cow. There are beautiful views over lake Superior from the property. The house worked great for two families and the large, well stocked kitchen was used a lot by our group. Easy to pop into Grand Marais and to explore the North Shore.

Amazing property for girls weekend!
The property and house were just perfect for our annual girls weekend. The location is great for exploring Grand Marais and the surrounding area. Lyndsey was amazing in the mornings, offering us the opportunity to milk the cows and learn about this great place. Incredible views of Lake Superior from the farm. The house was so clean and decorated beautifully. The space was great for a girls weekend. Enormous kitchen and great table space to play games at night. Having the store was so fun too, fresh cream and eggs were such a treat. Thank you so much for this beautiful experience!

Amazing second stay
We had an amazing second stay at the house - discovered new touches and thoughtfulness we hadn’t before, they really do think of everything! As with our previous stay, all four of our dogs were welcomed and embraced. Suburban dogs at the farm brings surprises for everyone, including Joyce 🐄 Wouldn’t dream of spending our time anywhere else. Thank you so much!

Magical
We loved our stay in the middle of this quaint working farm. First Lindsey has created a very cool living space with everything you need for a very comfortable space. She has thought of everything! From the sitting area, you get a view of Lake Superior (in the distance) and the cows right outside your window. We enjoyed walking on the farm in the morning and enjoyed a great hike right from the farm. Look no further for a really unique and restful stay.

Fabulous Stay!
Our family (our three children, their spouses, and our grandchildren) stayed at this beautiful farmhouse in August. The home itself is beautifully remodeled and decorated. The grandchildren were so excited to sleep in the bunk room and lofted beds. Lyndsay made our stay one that will never be forgotten. We had the opportunity to gather the cows from the pastures and walk them to the barn, where we were all able to learn about the milking process and even got to milk a cow! The grandchildren will never forget this experience. Lyndsay was a gracious, kind, patient host. We have already made our reservation for next year and are so excited to go back! Thank you Lyndsay!

Grand Marais Getaway
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farm! The farmhouse is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated (so much attention to detail!) and the views are stunning! Our city kids loved the experience of being on the farm and helping to "round up" some cows that had gotten out :) Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Wonderful for an overall experience, not just a resting point!
Highly recommend this property for those interested in interacting with the space! We arrived with 7 children and they had a blast hiking to the river, milking a cow, helping out with a couple farm chores (these hosts are patient beyond belief!), and catching grasshoppers/frogs/bugs. Felt like a safe space for them to run wild somewhat unsupervised while we drank some coffee and played a board game from the closet.

Great property — not kid safe
Gorgeous property overlooking the lake. Very nice house. Not quite ready for families with curious kids. Despite being told twice how safe the farm was for kids to run free, our 2 seven year olds found an unlocked garage full of screw top paint thinner and other chemicals. Nothing actually bad happened with the potions they made before we found them. But the farm is obviously not ready for prime time. Securing dangerous chemicals with a lock seems pretty baseline for price being charged.

Incredible Experience
My best buddies and I stayed here for my bachelorette and it was absolutely incredible. Lindsay was so generous, showing us around the farm and letting us milk the cows. We had a campfire. We frolicked in the fields. Enjoyed the stunning farmhouse and took in the views of Lake Superior each morning. I cannot recommend this place enough. The kitchen is so massive and the bathrooms are clean and the beds are comfy! Bliss! Thank you for everything!

Multi-generational family weekend

Lovely Farmhouse

Great time at the farm!
Every year my sisters and I visit a farm with our kids that's within a few hours of the Twin Cities. This year we drove up to Grand Marais and had an awesome time hanging out with Lindsay and her cows on their awesome farm. She has done a great job renovating her grandpa's farmhouse. The place is a lovely mix of old and new and she has a great design sense. Some of the cousins and one of the sisters love to work at each farm and this year was no exception. Lindsay was very generous with her time and found lots of things for them to help out with. By the end I was wondering if my sister might ask Lindsay to join our family : ). Being just a few minutes drive from Grand Marais was also a big plus. Thanks for a great stay!

The Perfect Stay
Our stay at the Lakeview Dairy Farm was amazing! We didn't know what to expect and it was just perfect. Lyndsay and her family were the perfect hosts. We learned all about the dairy farm and enjoyed the company of the family. Our dog was in heaven with the wide open spaces and all of the farm animals. The location is perfect with a view of the lake and the quiet of a farm. The house was well equipped, clean and really comfortable! We will be back!

Fantastic space for family gatherings, board games and quality time
Eight of us stayed for a few days, and we were very happy with the venue. This was actually the second year we booked this farmhouse. It was great for us to be able to share the kitchen, sit around the dining table for board games, and also relax on the couches and chairs in the large great room together.

Best VRBO we have EVER stayed at!
This was by far the best VRBO we have stayed at. The drive in really set the tone for the weekend, coming down the hill and seeing beautiful Lake Superior showed what a great location this home is in. The house itself was great, from the decor, to the comfortable beds, and everything you could possibly need while away from home. Lyndsay truly thought of everything and made this feel like home, we did not want to leave! Everyone we encountered on the farm was so friendly, it was very nice to be able to walk around and see the animals, take in the views of Lake Superior and watch the beautiful sunsets from the hillside. Milking the cows with Lyndsay was truly a highlight of the trip! If you are ever in the Grand Marais area looking for a VRBO, this place is the place to stay.

The Best
Had such an amazing time at this house. My daughter was excited every morning to help with the cows. Lyndsay is a fantastic host - I'd say the best we have ever met. Cannot wait to make it out here again. Highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.

It’s a farm house on a dairy farm!
Do it! Seriously gorgeous views of Lake Superior sunrises every morning from the side of a mountain. And ask about the hike to the Devil Track waterfall in the gorge. It’s steep, and especially not for the faint of heart in winter. But worth it.

Perfect for our Ladies Weekend.
HGTV Chip and JoJo style home on a real working small dairy farm. The hosts were top notch and taught us a lot about the farm and even let us milk a cow. Lyndsay thought I’d everything t in this remodel. Each bed is ver comfortable. Not just the master like other homes I have stayed in. There were enough towels, bedding, pillows, hangers, kitchen towels, cleaning supplies, kitchenware etc. it was perfect for our 12 ladies weekend. The kitchen is gourmet - enough for a personal chef to prepare us a 6 course meal in the property. We spent a lot of time taking pics of the farm animals and learning the dairy farm. We are definitely coming back. Love love love

Charming Farmhouse
Our stay at the farmhouse was absolutely magical. The property is stunning and has the most unbelievable views of Lake Superior. The farm house is gorgeous - so many beautiful details and cozy spaces. Lyndsey and family were incredibly welcoming and gracious. They didn’t hesitate to make us feel right at home. We also enjoyed getting to know all of the animals. The cows each had their own distinct personality, making getting to know them all the more fun. Getting to feed the cows and milk them was such a highlight for us. We will absolutely be back!

The Farm is the Best!
An incredible property overlooking Lake Superior. Chickens, sheep, cows, cats, a goat and pony. The property has a trail to the Superior hiking trail and another trail to an amazing waterfall. The house is tastefully remodeled and even better in person. A hidden gem!

Simply perfect
This is such a unique experience with the house sitting on the edge of the farm. The home is lovely and, with huge windows in every room, it is full of light (and provides opportunities to watch all the hard work that goes into working the farm as well as enjoy the coming and going of various farm animals). The farm includes a small store which offers fresh produce, meat, milk, honey, cookies, etc. It’s only a short drive into town to get additional groceries or enjoy a meal at any number of eateries or a beer at Voyager. If you enjoy hiking, trails are very close by.

Quaint Dairy Farm Location
Eight members of my hiking group stayed in a farm house where dozens of cows and two sheep (1 black. 1 white) roamed fteely and delighted us all! The Farm House looks like it could be in Better Homes and Gardens! It's so lovely. Cows, sheep, warm beds, super clean bathrooms, huge gathering spaces and a view of Lake Superior! It was wonderful!

The Farmer’s House feels like home
Thank you Farmers House! This was the first time we’ve been able to vacation with all of our four pups, many places limit to one or two pets. It was really our first “family vacation.” It was my first time in Grand Marais, and Emily’s first time back since childhood. I fell in love with the city and area, Emily’s experience matched what she remembered from way back, and Farmers House was a gigantic part of that. The accommodations are amazing – beautiful, modern, yet somehow evokes the feel of a 1930’s working farmhouse (the moos that come in through the window at random help with that too). We were blown away by the thought and care that went into not only the decorations, but also how well appointed the house was. From flour, sugar, a great array of K-cups and ground coffee ready to use, but also olive oil, packets of taco seasoning, a collection of condiments (including sriracha!) and pots, pans, utensils, to make up to a multi-course thanksgiving feast. The bathrooms were also great, with large rainfall showers, including shampoo, body wash, and conditioner, and plenty of fluffy towels. The bedrooms themselves were spacious, linens and beds were comfortable, and though there were only the two of us, we could see how larger groups could fit very comfortably in this space. The house had things I didn’t expect to be provided, and that’s simply amazing. One more note on the decorations – Lyndsay did such an excellent job, it was almost a game at one point to find little things here and there to reinforce the living farm theme. My favorite was the little small book of Cow Wisdom perched on the upper floor toilet tank. Emily really liked the horse figurines in the lower bedroom window, which reminded her of the days she used to ride and show them. The farm itself is great – wide and vast, even though there was a lot of activity (it IS a working farm) we never felt intruded upon, or awkward, even when the adorable sheep and Cookie would wander into the front yard and our pups would lose their minds as if the FedEx guy showed up to drop off a package. We went on a nature walk with all of them, where our city pups (okay, suburb pups) got to meet cows, chickens, sheep, a barn cat, and smell all of the country smells that were new and exciting. Our entire family, 2 and 4 footed, had an amazing experience, and we can’t recommend it any higher to anyone considering a stay in Grand Marais. We can’t wait for next time!

Such a gem
We had such an amazing time at the farm! The animals made each day so fun to wake up to, the beautiful view, and Lyndsay’s hospitality made everything so special. The listing doesn’t do justice to how well stocked the kitchen is! We brought all our own food and it was so easy to prep/cook (unlike other rentals we’ve had). Our kids had a blast and so did we!

We love this place so much!
This was our second stay at The Farmer's House, and honestly... I just can't bring myself to book anywhere else on the north shore now that we have found it. It is so peaceful. The house is perfect. The lighting that slowly filters into the house as the sun rises is a photographer's dream. My children never tire of the cows, cats, and the sheep. I almost hate to publish this review because I know it is going to make it that much harder to get this house, but it is a not miss, one of a kind, and truly special place.

A Farmhouse getaway.
The house was very clean and accommodating. All the spaces and bedrooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. My family just loved every bit of the house and the farm. They really liked the animals especially the pony. The view of Lake Superior was amazing also.

Family getaway
We loved our stay! It is a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Superior. Best of all we were in the middle of a working farm. So nice of Lyndsey and family to be so welcoming and to teach us all how the family farm is run. Loved having the little self serve store to buy fresh eggs, cream, and lemon curd from. Delicious. The house was perfect in every way for our 3 families. Especially the kitchen and great room. Room for us all to gather to cook, play games and read. I loved not having television. We had everything we need in a beautiful setting and house.

Beautiful house and perfect location for our family!
The house was perfect for my family (8 adults, 4 kids between ages 2 and 6, and 2 under 1, plus a dog). We made the sleeping arrangements work :) With views of superior it felt like a secluded oasis. It was great to let the kids go out all day and play outside. They all the loved the farm animals. Property owner was super accommodating, very responsive and super helpful when we ask questions. We will be back again.

Fantastic place!
This is a beautiful place, spotless and very well equipped with everything we needed. Lyndsay is very friendly and accommodating. The farm experience was very fun for everyone!

Comfort and Fun at the Farm
When I first saw the pictures on line of the farm property in Grand Marais managed by Lyndsay I was impressed by the style of the property and the pictures of the environs. I was excited to spend a week there with my group of 11 female family members. I did not think that my expectations of the house and its furnishings or my contacts with the owner would be exceeded. I was happily wrong and most pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere and style of the house was relaxing and comfortable with an exceptional attention to detail. Just about every kitchen item you could need was provided. The beds and linens were plush, the bathrooms and showers were spacious, and the common area was well stocked with games and comfortable seating. The wide open windows let in cool breezes and gorgeous views. And the farm animals were engaging! From the cows to the wandering chickens and the occasional visit from Cookie the escape artist calf we were charmed at every turn. It was an extremely comfortable home base to return to after our excursions around the Grand Marais area and Lyndsay was happy to stop and explain the workings of her family farm. I would highly recommend a stay at this property. (And the fresh dairy and eggs were a bonus!)

Fantastic Family Getaway
We were so lucky to find this property. It was so unique, a fantastic location, and the owners were incredibly friendly! Our kids will never forget this one!

The Perfect Place for a Family Reunion
The Working Farm House with a spacious kitchen and eating area and large bedroom for the teens was a great solution for our family reunion. We also made smores in the outdoor firepit. Everyone enjoyed waking to the mellow sound of cows and seeing the cows come back to the barn each evening. The place was clean, well organized, and well equipped. It was the ideal location to relax after a day of activities.

Great Experience!
What a great experience! Thank you Lyndsay and family for the hospitality. We very much appreciated your quickly responding to our questions. Lyndsay is a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to share the inner workings of the farm. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting to extended family - Cookie has captured our hearts. The farmhouse was wonderful and was very well stocked. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We enjoyed the hike to Pincushion. This is truly a great experience and we felt as if we were part of the farm.

Fantastic Long Weekend
The property was amazing, and perfect for our little extended family long weekend. It slept the 8 of us with beds to spare, and cooking meals was really nice in their gourmet kitchen.

Great family time, fun farm experience and amazing views!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay at the farmhouse. The house was warm and inviting, comfortable and nicely decorated. Plenty of room and so very clean! We loved meeting all the cows on the farm. The view of Lake Superior was amazing! Communication was great and we appreciated the opportunity to learn about the farm and animals. Quick and easy trip down to town when we wanted and yet such a secluded location. Bottom line, book this place right away you won’t regret it. Say hi to boss cat for us.

Great to stay on the North Shore
Plenty of space for 10 of us and three dogs, gorgeous property and the farm is fun to explore. Would definitely recommend!
