Perfect Getaway
Communication was perfect. Owners let us know there was potential for delays, acted quickly to take care of issues and let us know we were able to check in, early even! Space was perfect, serenity and calm were surrounding us. We loved every minute. Will book again

Second stay, equally great
I've stayed here with friends before, and we knew we'd be returning for a second and subsequent visits. It's tucked away from busy roads but still has access to restaurants and groceries as needed. There are quiet roads to walk or trails in the state park just up the way. Rustic and peaceful is exactly what we were going for, and we're looking forward to a third stay soon. Highly recommended.

We had an excellent stay at creekside. Everything was clean and well organized. Kitchen had any cookware and utensils that you could possibly want. Nice, quiet property. No tv channels, but that added to the enjoyment. I would definitely stay here again

Absolutely wonderful!
Everything at Creekside was absolutely wonderful! It was super clean. The location was great. So quiet and peaceful. Our pup loved it - he had lots of space to roam. Everything that we needed for a great trip with our grandson. Highly recommend. Can’t wait for our next trip to Crockett so we can stay here again.

Wifi was hit and miss
Over all nice and quiet. For persons of the technical age was not so. Wifi was terrible and we all had at&t. No data or phones. I myself enjoyed being unplugged for a few days.

Serenity in the woods
Perfect little place in the woods. Nothing fancy yet everything you need.There was a burn ban in the area that had just been lifted, so I sent Mark a text and he responded right away that we could have a fire outside. Very secluded even though near the highway. Deer were in the yard when we pulled in.

Treasured Adenture
Our cabin stay by the creek with family was nothing short of a treasured adventure. Nestled amidst towering trees and surrounded by the melody of flowing water and birds, we were captivated by the serene beauty. The home was beautiful! The privacy and view was unmatched. By far the best 'home away from home' stay we have experienced in Texas. I will cherish the memories made w/ my kiddos as we explored the property. It provided the much needed space & tranquility we were looking for. Til' next time, Creekside!

Mother's Day Week-end Getaway
Creekside was very peaceful, and a great place to stay in for a few days to get away from the usual noise and distractions. We had a great time birdwatching, playing board games and sitting around the fire. Our family had a great time making memories, and the cabin was perfect for our family of 6. Thank you!!!

A Little Cabin In The Woods
Creekside has all the creature comforts needed. Then offers great opportunities to marvel at a few of Mother Nature’s creatures along the way (Pileated Woodpeckers every day all day!). All expectations were met beyond measure. Once we got past NO SERVICE, our little cabin in the woods became the perfect place to unwind. The one and only thing that brought us back to reality was the yard guy showing up unannounced at 10:00 Saturday morning. It’s understandable that the job must be scheduled. Unless we missed it, a note on the fridge to announce his arrival would have saved us from being caught off guard on the front porch in our jammies. We would have scheduled our trip to the dam for that time. However, a little mowing will not stop us from planning our return visit. It is the perfect halfway point between Houston and Dallas. An ideal location for a small family rendezvous. Thank you Mark and Brenda.

Quiet country stay among blooming Dogwood trees.
We picked Creekside because of its proximity to Houston. We are looking to find a place for a longer fall vacation in the piney woods. This place would certainly fill the bill. The cabin is very comfortable and fully functional for an extended stay. The grounds are exceptional for the feeling of isolation.

Great getaway
This is a great place to get away from the city, light a fire in the fire pit and relax in the outdoors. One evening we spotted deer. The house was clean and well appointed for our stay. This is a hard to find two king size bed set up. Thanks for a relaxing 3 night stay.

Country cozy
My friend and I wanted a weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of our dailies, and this property provided exactly what we were looking for. Sitting on the back porch and listening to the wind rustle the trees, winding up the drive to the cabin, and being away from light and noise pollution all contributed to the feeling of separation and helped us enjoy our time. A plus and a minus was that cell reception is nil within a few miles, and Wi-Fi and LTE/5G connections were unreliable - this challenged some of our communications with family, but it also contributed to the tucked-away and removed-from-the-world feel, so just be prepared. We had no trouble texting and calling on the road into Crockett. We're already planning our next friend getaway at this place. Would highly recommend.

Unfortunately our cable company had gone out of business (unexpectedly) days before your arrival. We had contacted you via Email to notify you. We mentioned streaming as an option and the fact that we had a smart television. Unfortunately our hands were tied beyond that. The lake, as explained clearly in the description (as well as phone call), is 7/10ths of a mile from the home. There is a key to the private park, along with a map to both the dam and the private park whether you choose to walk or drive.

Thanksgiving trip
Great secluded property which is just what we were looking for to unwind for Thanksgiving weekend. Lovely wooded area where with trails for walking, a creek and many benches along the way to stop and enjoy the scenery. We loved it!

Awesome as always
We have stayed at Creekside at least 5 times. Always clean, comfortable and well appointed. Far enough out from town but close enough also. The hosts are super people and a joy to deal with. I cannot recommend this property any higher. A must stay.

Super Clean with pleasant amenities
This cabin is SUPER clean, AC works great, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a working Netflix account already linked to the TV (property management account) along with fluffy blankets in the bedroom to cuddle up for a movie. Correspondence and amenity information A++++. Only suggestion (very minor) is to have a step-by-step for the push button lock on front door, it took us a bit to figure that out but the code was very clearly communicated through multiple emails, along with a plan B to unlock.

My family needed a short relaxing weekend away from everyday life. We found this place that was a short driving distance from where we live. Luckily we found it. My 4 year old didn’t want to leave and has asked me everyday since “when are we going back”. I would like to make this at least a yearly thing for us, in going here. It was perfect

Beautiful and peaceful
We came to the area for the Polar Express with my family and in-laws, and enjoyed our time at the cabin nearly as much as the Polar Express. It was so beautiful and peaceful here. My 6 year old loved "adventuring" in the woods . It was a little tricky to find in the dark and there is no service, so make sure you have the directions downloaded or written down. The only complaint was that my inlaws said their mattress was uncomfortable. Everything else was wonderful!

Great getaway
Cabin was one of the best we have ever stayed in. Caretakers were very quick to response with any questions we had. It was just my husband and I but the layout is perfect for two couples wanting to get away. How many cabins can you find with not one, but two King size beds.

Cabin in the Woods
Secluded cabin with room to roam. Lot is lovely- we enjoyed stargazing from the deck, sitting around the campfire, watching the deer in the early mornings, listening to the crickets and the occasional owl and faraway coyotes. The house was sparkling clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Since cellphone service was not available, it was excellent to have fast and reliable wi-fi. The dining table was perfect for cards and games, and having a full table/chairs on the deck was very handy. I look forward to coming back to this house in the autumn when the weather will be as welcoming as the house!

Wonderful stay
My family had a wonderful stay at the Creekside cabin. The property is very well maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cabin was very clean. We really enjoyed relaxing on the deck, watching deers grazing on the property,playing card games and swimming at the lake by the playground area. The hosts were very responsive to all of our questions and needs and we felt very well taken care of. Thank you for a great experience!

Seclusion
We had a great time at Creekside! The cabin was very spacious, very clean, and the owners had all the amenities that anyone could need. We enjoyed the lighted back deck where we cooked great meals on the Weber grill. Went walking in the woods & our labradoodle loved the creek! Enjoyed watching deer graze. Beautiful!!

Great little spot in the woods.
This place was everything we had hoped it would be. Beautiful, quiet, relaxing good time had by all. We fished, built a bon fire, cooked out, made snores, found crawdad in the creek and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We will be back.

Cozy Quiet Creekside
This was our first time at this property and it was exactly as presented on the website. The house had all the comforts of home with a well-lit yard in a quiet wooded setting. The beds are comfortable, the shower is amazing, and there’s so much room to bring in all our stuff and not trip over it all week. TVs in all rooms, washer and dryer, and large kitchen table and living area. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will be back at Creekside next year.

Fantastic relaxing space
Everything was super clean and as described online. The furniture was comfortable and it was nice to have a good sized kitchen table to do a puzzle on. There were many nice extra touches such as firewood for the fire pit and a map of how to walk to the local park. We would love to come back again.

Gorgeous getaway in the woods
From the no-contact check-in process, to the excellent binder full of information about the property and nearby areas, not only was this stay easy, but really thoroughly thought out! The hosts make sure you have everything you need to have a little home-away-from-home feel, and there's basically everything you could want there. The raised deck showcasing the back of the property that goes on into the woods for a surprising distance makes for an amazing meal spot! It overlooks the firepit, the extra deck even further into the property in front of the woods, and there's even lighting features so you can choose your ambience out there too. Overall, we're already planning on coming back, and can't wait to do so!

Great Stay
We had a great stay at Creekside. We've rented many houses and this one was the cleanest I've seen. The beds were comfortable. We had everything we needed. It's very family/kid/dog friendly. I didn't feel nervous about ruining or breaking anything and was able to relax. The property was fantastic for our kids and our dog. Our girls were able to explore and our dog had room to run. It rained while we were there and I worried about tracking mud in, but it wasn't an issue. The floors were all tile or wood, so easy to clean. I meant to bring towels, but I forgot. I was very worried about the white towels and I was happy to see a couple towels in the closet labeled for the dog. The owners were very good about communicating and the location was easy to find.We found plenty to do, even though we didn't really leave the property. Thanks for providing a nice place to getaway, even for just a few days.
