Fantastic Stay!
Very pet friendly; loved the view of the lake; loved the proximity to the beach (which the dogs enjoyed as well); felt very safe & secure; great appliances & accessories which made meal prep easy; peaceful; close proximity to Bayfield. Will absolutely stay again!

Winter Wonderland
This was a much needed getaway that turned into a late winter wonderland. We received ~12 inches of snow during our stay, which kept up mainly inside. The guesthouse provided us with spectacular views and was warm and comfortable. The games and puzzles provided helped to keep us entertained. The few times we were out walking the dogs the entire area was peaceful and serene. Communication about the impending weather and snow removal was excellent. We would love to go back there again.

Comfortable and quiet
My husband, son and I spent a long weekend relaxing, hiking, and enjoying the view. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Erin communicated well and even made sure we had an instapot for our chili. Despite the rain and lack of winter snow, we still found plenty of beaches and trails to explore nearby.

AWESOME!
You walk into the cabin and there "she", Lake Superior, is in all her glory. We had spectacular views of Lake Superior and could see all the way to Minnesota. The only bad thing about the cabin was the furniture was dirty and full of dog hair. The furniture was also very uncomfortable. Other than that, we had a good time.

Great week at Sky Fyre
Love the cabin! Lovely, spacious great room with pretty views of Bark Bay beyond the trees. Neighbor/owners very nice and not intrusive. Quite clean. When the smoke detector battery died and it was too high to reach without a ladder, Erin the property mgr got a handyman in to fix it right away -- yay! We enjoyed the fire pit and sunsets in the back yard. The area is magical. We'd been staying on the MN North Shore but our favorite rental went away and this was our experiment to stay on the lake. North Shore can be sort of a zoo; Cornucopia is the opposite. Quiet, quaint, arty, and 30 minutes from Bayfield, Madeline Island and all they have to offer. Dinner at the Copper Trout in Bayfield was fabulous. Nearby we saw a wolf along the road; wolf tracks on a beach on another day; an owl flew low in front of the windshield one night, and an eagle was nesting next door, flying across our lake view daily. Thanks for having us; we'd love to come back!

Great space on a Great Lake
Space fit our needs. Comfy living room with a wood burning fireplace was a great place to hang on a stormy/rainy evening. The view and location are amazing. Made meals in the fully equipped kitchen. There were a few items in disrepair such as the pull out sofa, ice maker, burned out light bulbs. A bit of TLC and this would be an easy 5 star rental.

Stunning views & great host
We absolutely loved our stay at Sky Fire! The location can't be beat - the sunsets are incredible. The kitchen was very well equipped and we felt right at home. Eli was staying next door and was so welcoming and kind!! Also loved that our dog, Penny, was welcome to join! Will definitely be visiting again some day!!!

We returned to Skye Fire for the second time.
We enjoyed our first week at Skype Fire in 2021 and looked forward to a return this summer with our two young grandkids. The home is comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, loads of fresh towels and a beautiful view of Lake Superior. Hope to return again soon.

Disappointed
I really regret posting this review. I sent the owner an email with pictures on stains on the couch, garbage lid dirty, inside door of dishwasher dirty, rusting base board heaters and inside the sink base cabinet was filthy. This was all upon check-in. Not what you'd expect from the great location of this VRBO. I've stayed in a lot of them. I refrained from posting any of this and sent an email that the general public would not see. That was on July 4th, a couple of days after our trip. I received no response. I sent a 2nd email on July 14th and no response. I was just trying to be kind and share with the owner the things we saw. I figured they are paying for someone to clean the property and thought they would appreciate the feedback. I'm not sure why the owner could not respond to me. I explained I was not asking for anything, rather just sharing our experience with him or her. After not receiving any response from the owner, we would not stay at this property again.

Skyfire was even better than we expected
We loved our stay and would definitely choose Skyfire in the future. The rental is spacious and clean with all of the amenities one could ask for. Beautiful view and location right on Lake Superior. The pictures don't really do it justice. Close proximity to all of the locations we were planning to visit- kayak rental in Cornucopia, shopping and people-watching in Bayfield and the 4th of July parade on Madeline Island. Checkin and out were easy, communication with the host was clear and timely.

Too many mosquitos in the house
The house itself was fine and had a great view. However, we had a big problem with mosquitoes inside and outside. We initially thought they got in the house when we were bringing in bags, but after killing dozens, they kept appearing. We could not go outside or keep the windows open. We only rented for two days and three nights and had to leave early. We reached out to our contact and did not hear back. In addition, the lawn was overgrown and a landscaper came to mow the lawn during our second of two days. The mosquitos made it a very unpleasant stay.

I saw the note you wrote about “what do we do about all the mosquitoes outside.” Honestly, I thought the best reply was no reply to such a question given the time of year, record amount of snow melt and your proximity to the woods of NW Wisconsin. Mosquito spray, citronella candles, long sleeve pants and shirt? I can honestly say, with every spring and summer date booked for the last several years, we’ve never before heard this question or criticism. We are sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay.

We have been here before so have enjoyed the home and area through all the seasons. It's a grand place where we have great memories. Heavenly Winter Retreat
What am amazing place!! You wake up and fall asleep with the most amazing view of Lake Superior. Our host was responsive before, during and after our visit. Skyfire is a very modern and well stocked cabin that helps you forget the worries of everyday life. Everything has been thought of. We were there when the outside temperatures dipped subzero and we were warm and cozy. The are is very conducive to taking a stroll down the road and putting a few miles on. It’s close to Bayfield and the smaller fishing hamlets on the south shore. It’s also an easy run up to Johnson’s store for the best smoked fish. We thank our host for sharing. It’s an amazing experience. We hope to get back there some day soon Chip, Kathy, Jim and Diane

Immaculate Place with a Gorgeous View
Everything about the stay went smoothly. The parking and check-in process was clear. The property itself is clean and well-stocked; plenty of towels, blankets, soap, even coffee. The beds are comfortable and the linens high-quality. The view of Lake Superior is, well, superior. Even in winter, the snow-covered trees and icy lake are gorgeous to look at. We highly recommend Sky Fire.

Our weekend at the cabin
When we got there the door was unlocked . Also it didn’t seem very clean . Also no extra toilet paper and no paper towels . Also when we got there the garbage and recycling was still on the Porch. We stay there last year and we really enjoyed it .

We loved our stay here! The property was clean and had all the comforts of home. The view of Lake Superior was fantastic! We loved how we were out in quiet seclusion but at the same time just a short drive from so much! Kayaking, sailing, hiking, beach days- all just a couple miles down the road! Perfect getaway spot with a beautiful view of Lake Superior!
I booked this place for a surprise trip to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday. We spent 4 nights/5 days and definitely felt like it was a good deal. The place was clean and had everything we needed to cook with in the kitchen. The table was perfect to enjoy playing board games on and the couch was comfortable to watch movies on. We loved sitting outside and watching the sunset over Lake Superior. The place was out of sugar, but Erin was at the doorstep within 15 minutes with more! I highly recommend this VRBO!

Above & Beyond
Having previously stayed at Sky Fire, I knew that my boyfriend and I would greatly enjoy the accommodations…and we did! What I didn’t foresee was the extent to which management would go above and beyond in unforeseen circumstances. Driving to the property in the dark after a recent snowfall, I miscalculated the road and put my car in the ditch. I called management hoping to get some resources to call to assist us out of the situation and, rather than just provide names and numbers, she and her significant other arrived and successfully pulled us out of the ditch themselves. What could have been a wait for several hours turned into a resolved predicament in about 30 minutes. We could not have been more grateful! We were soon in the warmth of Sky Fire! Many thanks to Erin!!!

Our second stay at Skyfire in November, so beautiful and perfect for hanging in or huddling out to feel the power of Lake Superior blustery days. Western sky-high view is incredible. Very well-managed and any need met with South Shore attention and charm. You won’t go wrong staying here, love it!

THE BEST
This place was the best VRBO/rental place that we stayed at ever. It was the coziest little place. The views of The Big Lake were incredible. We had the wood fireplace going almost every minute while we were there. There was plenty of things close enough to make it enjoyable for out little family, but also had the peace and quiet we were looking for. The owners were incredibly accommodating and were quick to respond with any answers I needed. The stars at night over the lake were amazing. I would wake up before my family and just sit and stare across the lake at the stars. We can't wait to come back and stay there again, except this time we'll stay for at least 3 nights!

Fall Getaway
My husband and I plus another couple enjoyed this property in mid-October. We were lucky to have hit the peak of color in this area. We did lots of waterfall hiking nearby plus the Apostle Island boat cruise. This is an extremely comfortable, clean and well-furnished VRBO. It's the second time we have stayed here; and we plan to come back in another season.

Pleasant time away
We enjoyed our time at Skyfire - it was the kind of time away we needed to unplug and recharge. Nice and quiet. Everything we needed was there, even body wash and shampoo/conditioner. Plenty of cookware and dishes to use. The bed in the bedroom facing the lake was plenty comfortable with a foam type mattress that supported well while being soft. My spouse and I seem to suffer from chronic sore backs, but neither of us were sore after using the bed. The other bedroom had a regular-type mattress that seemed firmer (we did not use it). We brought a boat to see the shoreline from the water (launched from Bark Point as well as Bayfield). The circle driveway was a bit tight for turning around our 20' boat, but any experienced boater should be able to handle it. More than enough parking to accommodate the boat. Table and chairs outdoors along with a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal) and fire pit (firewood purchased locally). There is one, but we did not use the fireplace inside. If returning to this area, we would definitely consider Skyfire again.

Great location, accessible, wonderful kitchen, views, furniture was comfortable, quiet, easy to get to Port wing, Herbster and Cornucopia to explore. Loved, loved,loved the wood burning fireplace. Great shower, yard and easy access to the area. We signed up for 2022 already.

This is a lovely location and home to enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior and the surrounding towns. The home is clean and comfortable with a well outfitted kitchen that allows for meal preparation on site, or you can visit one of the local restaurants.

Great place to stay, we enjoyed our time at Sky Fire.
We were very pleased and totally comfortable in the house. My husband is a paraplegic and uses a wheelchair, house is totally accessible. Kitchen well stocked , beds comfy and lots of glass made for wonderful lake views. Communications with the host,Eli, was great before and throughout our stay.

It was super quiet, beautiful interior, tons of windows looking out at bay, wonderful location near a beach, great view from up high, easy to get to Bayfield and surrounding area. Really nice stay. Property was clean and inviting. Exceptionally quiet and peaceful. Rural setting, so no street lights. Gravel road access for a couple of miles off of Hwy. 13. Fire pit for campfire, and patio table and chairs for outside dining. Kitchen was very well equipped. About 25-30 minute drive to Washburn, The Big Top Chautauqua, or Bayfield. Cornucopia has a general store and a couple of restaurants if you need anything. Bring slippers to wear in the house as you’re asked to leave shoes outside in the enclosed breezeway. Helps keep the place clean.

Quaint Area
Nice area with access to sandy beaches, parks, sailing/kayaking, etc. Accommodations at Skye Fire were comfortable. Cleanliness was okay (not as good as other places we’ve stayed) and the bedroom overlooking Superior really could use a new mattress, pillows and bedding.
