Paradise Found
Absolutely loved our stay at this site. Everything was exactly as it was depicted in the listing. Very clean and such a beautiful location, we all enjoyed the sounds of the ocean outside the windows. The kitchen was equipped for anything you could possibly need to prepare a meal, even coffee filters, various condiments and cooking oils, as well as spices. It was a cost savings to be able to prepare some meals instead of eating out. All the rooms and bathrooms were spotless and lovely to stay and use. Only complaint would be it was challenging at times to figure out how to operate the ceiling fan switches/clickers. You definately do not need AC here - such refreshing breezes when windows/sliding doors left open with fans, it maintained a very comfortable atmosphere. Sorry about not having a robust recycling program as we were saddened to have to throw out items which in other locations are all recycled but what can you do. Thank. you for a wonderful stay in beautiful Hilo.

Everything in the owners description is accurate. Great kitchen; great outdoor grill (new), comfortable beds. The property manager is the best. If we had any issues/questions he promptly replied. Whales, lots of whales! As close as 30 yards from the back yard. I highly recommend this as place to enjoy the green side of Hawai’i.

Hilo house with Ocean view
Pros: 1. Great location: wide beautiful ocean view, easy access to Hilo & a short walk to surf beach. 2. Good size kitchen, all 3 bedrooms have king size beds and their own bathrooms. 3. Wonderful lanai to eat breakfast at. 4. Very responsive property manager. Overall, we really enjoyed the week there. Cons: there is a constant dribbling of water from the fridge condensation. So we had to place a towel on the floor next to the fridge.

New Fridge arriving mid March... It aways takes a while to get things to Hawaii! Meantime, we have a rubber mat and devised a way to drain the condensation.

Lovely Hilo Getaway
We had a wonderful week at this lovely home in Hilo. Stunning views, very close to town as well as some wonderful hikes and waterfalls. The house was clean and comfortable for all of us.

We enjoyed our stay! Didn’t quite get used to the sound of the waves crashing or the tree frogs at night. The property is beautiful and nicely located. Easy to get to Hilo or anywhere else on the island. Loved our stay.

Stunning views
The three days at this house put us all in instant relaxation mode. Check in is easy, house is well equipped, tons of surfers to watch. The garden offers many areas to hang out - in shade, in sun, lounging or coach, by a table or not. Loved the provided coffee and some stuff in the fridge - always a put when one loves to cook. Highly recommend this VRBO!

I booked this house in part because of the view. The views did not disappoint. I loved waking up to a gorgeous sunrise. The interior of the house was beautiful as well. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. It is truly a stunning home.

The perfect getaway
This was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We have been to Paris, Venice, and England just to name a few. This is the best place we have ever stayed by far. The views were incredible. The property was lush and lovely. The waves were so soothing. If you need a romantic getaway, this is the place to be.

Ideal stay in Hilo
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is in a perfect location. The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms was fantastic. We fell asleep to ocean waves. We were worried about the lack of a/c however it was not a problem. The ceiling fans circulate the air well at night. I especially loved all the outdoor space for lounging and eating. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The house manager was wonderful. We were very sad to leave!

Vacation in Big Island
This house exceeded our expectations. It has everything we needed for our vacation needs. The quality of the facilities is excellent. It's well equipped, very comfortable, and the location is fantastic. I have often rented houses or condos in the U.S. and Europe for vacations and this is definitely my Top 1 on my list. Wonderful
We had a great stay here from the spectacular view of Honolii beach and short walk to it, with the surfers enjoying the waves. The home was as expected with three comfortable rooms. We are a family of four - two tweens - and also brought our 30 something niece. Beach towels and chairs and things were a bonus. Also met neighbor Bob who was pleasant. All around great place. Highly recommended! Hope to stay again! Mahalo!

Gorgeous views
The house was great, had gorgeous views, and plenty of supplies. The breeze kept the house comfortable at night. If you are a light sleeper, the coqui frogs do get pretty loud. We had a bluetooth speaker and white noise app that drowned out the noise enough for us.

Phenomenal Views!
An unforgettable stay in Hilo. For other parents of small children, this had all the views, and none of the concerns of a little one wandering off into the water. While perched on a cliffside, there’s a small wall and lots of vegetation as a barrier. My three year old loved watching surfers, ships, canoes, and sea life go by. And when she didn’t have an eye on the ocean, she was counting coconuts in the trees or reading some of the children’s books that were in the house. It was such an enjoyable, relaxing stay. I smile thinking about a good cup of coffee in my hands while watching the sunrise. We marveled at how clean the house was and appreciated how difficult upkeep must be with the salty air. Randall was great with communication regarding the house and the area, and his recommendations were spot on. We would absolutely return to this rental, and highly recommend it.

Vacation on a Tropical Bluff
Sensational setting on a bluff overlooking Hilo Bay! House is surrounded by flowering tropical bushes and tall swaying coconut trees. Views of surfers and occasional floating vessels in the distance keep things exciting. Occasional aircraft fly overhead during the day but nothing disturbing. If you want to fall asleep to the sound of crickets and pounding surf this place is for you.

Amazing place
We loved this place. It was very well stocked, close to everything we wanted to do in Hilo, very well kept, and right off the main surfing area — so we got to watch surfers from the huge windows or many outdoor areas. Highly recommend!

Ocean Cliff House
This house has a perfect view sitting right on the ocean cliff. The sounds of the large waves crashing all day is so relaxing. The property manager (Randall) was extremely helpful and very responsive. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans, glasses, and dishes you will need. My only complaint was with all the rain Hilo receives. There is a lot of moisture in the house since there is no A/C. Sheets and towel can get damp.

Fantastic Hilo House
Everything was awesome at this property! It was well stocked with whatever one might need, including snorkels and boogie boards. Check in and out was very easy and smooth. Epic view of the surf beach below. My family had such a great time. Highly recommend property!

Incredible home and view
Beautiful property!! The pictures and descriptions are accurate. Nicely situated close to town. Our family enjoyed our stay and felt very lucky to be able to stay in a house like this. It felt very luxurious and it was hard to leave. The coqui frogs start at dusk but you get used to them quickly and they stop in the middle of the night. I was surprised no one else commented on the frogs in other comments. The host was really communicative and helpful as well. THANK YOU RANDALL! The house is super clean and well-stocked. I recommend staying here for a wonderful Hilo experience.

Amazing location
You can ask for a better view! Many listings talk about having the best view, but it is hard to imagine there is one any better. Large and roomy with character, and lots windows to capture the views, and the breezes. Well stocked kitchen, and very nice baths. Very convenient to Hilo, which makes getting supplies and groceries easy. Visit the outdoor market in Hilo for the best fruit and vegetables at a very reasonable price.

Excellent Property, Location, and Host
I don't give 5-star reviews all that often, because they tend to be flowery and don't help customers know what to really expect. Reviews should show positives and negatives right??But I feel that this listing deserves 5 stars. Our stay was perfect in every way. Place was super clean, great communication from the host, and easy check in/out process. The photos are current and accurate, and the place even felt a bit bigger than we expected. The beds and bedding were higher quality than most other places we've stayed. Just a few minutes from Hilo, you're not stuck spending all your time driving, unless you want to! Because this place is right on HWY 19 the beautiful Hamakua Coast scenic drive. A few pleasant surprises we didn't expect from this property - there was high quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available in each shower. This was appreciated given our longer stay from mainland. Some simple condiments and spices were available as well - nothing that might expire, but helped us save a bit of money when cooking in for the night - I would add that the grill was nicer than I expected as well. There were a ton of family board games to play and several books for a relaxing night in. There are a few coconut trees on the property, and a few coconuts fell in the yard, and we were able to crack them open for fresh coconut water! The coconut meat wasn't very good though. Deal Breakers (--) None Nit Picks (-) Wireless coverage in the living room could be a bit weak. It made the nice TV unusable. (Trust me, I'm not complaining about this, just sharing my thoughts) Neutral (0) Coqui frogs chirp all night long and can keep you awake if a light sleeper (host provided disposable ear plugs). I found them charming, wife and kid did not. Perks (+) Ample room to park, spices and condiments, shampoo/conditioner, board games/books, sunscreen/bug spray, chairs/beach gear. Show Stoppers (++) the VIEW! Comfort of the property, and excellent location of the property.

Spectacular Views and Soothing Sounds
We had a fantastic time here just wish we could’ve stayed longer. Home is in a great location and very close to the beach. Plenty of beach equipment, well equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Communication with the property manager was outstanding. There is no AC so a little warm in mid Sept but ocean breezes in the morning and evening were great. I highly recommend this home.

WOW - Stop Looking - This is the place you want to be!
The views, the house, the location - everything is amazing. The owner was very responsive and friendly on the phone. Hilo is a great place to land if you want to explore the island without being caught up in the hustle bustle of the Kona side of things. Hilo is a hip little town that has just enough but is not overbuilt and commercialized - we loved it.

Comfy home with a spectacular view!
We stayed in this home for almost a week in September of 2022 and thought it was wonderful. The pictures are completely accurate, including the spectacular views. The home is very clean and INCREDIBLY WELL-STOCKED! We were there with family, and never wanted for a thing (toaster, band-aid, dishwasher, washer and dryer, condiments, all kinds of cooking supplies, coffeemaker and grinder -- I think the kitchen is more well-stocked than my own). There are 3 bedrooms, each with its own separate bathroom, which worked perfectly for our family. There are many gathering spots throughout the home, and many areas from which you can relax and enjoy the setting and its ocean views. The back deck overlooks a popular surfing spot below (Honoli'i), so you can watch surfers at almost any time of day. One odd thing about the house while we were there is that there were NOT a lot of bugs -- I'm not sure what they do to minimize bugs in this tropical area, but it works. This is a terrifically comfortable home base while you are on the Hilo-side of the island. And, the hosts are fantastic -- very informative, welcoming and responsive to any question that might arise. Easily 5 stars.

Solitude with a view
Perfectly situated house for our family with 6 adults. Many gathering areas to sit together and enjoy the views. Watching the sunrise and local surfers became our morning ritual. Great location in a quiet neighborhood where you didn’t even know you had neighbors. Randall’s tour suggestions were outstanding and the location is perfect to get to all the must sees.

Gorgeous property!
We stayed for four nights at this home in May 2022 and couldn't have been happier with it. This is a beautiful home in a stunningly gorgeous location. The home is a bit older but with fabulous updates to the kitchen and baths, so that it results in a perfect combination of the older "traditional" styles mixed with everything you'd want in a modern home. Speaking of everything you'd want, it's hard to imagine a more fully stocked house, especially the kitchen where you'd find it impossible to think of anything that wasn't there! (Seriously, even a fondue pot!) The setting of this home overlooking the beach, with dozens of surfers there from early morning into the evening, simply cannot be beat. And there are multiple, extremely comfortable outdoor spaces from which to enjoy the view. Oddly enough, despite this being the "wet" side of the island, we had no issues with bugs, mosquitos, etc., so I think they must do a great job of keeping up on that. I would warn that there are a lot of very loud tree frogs at night, which we found charming, but recommend a white noise machine if you don't. This home doesn't have AC and it absolutely was not necessary. The fans and breezes kept it very comfortable. This is simply a lovely, relaxing home with stunning views, and I hope to visit again!

Thankful for it all
My 2nd stay in this beautiful home did not disappoint! My Sis and I were here for 11 days and we were always thrilled to return to the house after adventures out and about. Believe all the positive reviews. Cleanliness, location, views and a great property manager make this a top notch vacation experience. Hilo and Maku'u Farmers Markets are excellent and check out events at the Palace Theatre. We saw the film Waterman after a delicious dinner at Cafe Pesto. Aloha!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hilo at this amazing home. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable and every amenity is provided. The gardens are exquisite and the highlight of every day was my barefoot garden walk to photograph the newest blooms. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai every morning because we couldn't imagine better views anywhere. This was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Mahalo to Randall for promptly taking care of any minor issue we experienced. He's an excellent host. We look forward to staying here again! Sherri and David Flagstaff, AZ

Great place. When I come back to Hilo, I would like to be here. Premises have everything you need.
Outstanding stay. Things to improve on would be fix the slider on the north side deck and have a locksmith check the lock on the south side sliding door. Everything else was amazing and so many amenities that make you feel like your home.

Stellar (and I mean Stellar) Views from House & Deck
Just a fantastic house, really one of our very favorite vrbo's ever. We spent hours enjoying sunrise on the deck watching the surfers and sunrise over coffee and soaking up the rays. The views from the home are fantastic, really nice home, super-equipped with all you need. The neighborhood isn't great but it doesn't matter at all; once you are inside, you never think of it and just relish your time on the deck or patio. We had 100% perfect weather for Hilo, loved the short 5 min drive into town for the farmers' market or restaurants. Hilo and this part of the island are our favorite and we highly (highly) recommend this home. I would love to return one day and would book the house for a full week next time. Thanks.

Such a beautiful property! Everything was perfect, very, very clean and well equipped. We absolutely hated to leave. We started our mornings way before sunrise just to enjoy our coffee and wait for the show. Whales and surfers provided constant entertainment on the back deck. The gardens were filled with beautiful flowers of all kinds, the grass felt like we were walking on clouds. We had a great time here and made many wonderful memories. Will never forget it and will dream about it I’m sure! Thank you for sharing this beautiful property with us!
