We should have known when we opened the front door and the welcome sign fell down, its broken, rust nail disintegrated. This property has probably never been upgraded or maintained. The faux leather couches are broken so that I actually hurt my back sitting down the first evening. The leather look fabric is rubbed off and crumbly. The door latch to the deck is so rusted it is very very difficult to open and close. Not very safe for an emergency. The camping chairs on the patio are split we could sit out there, though the view is amazing. There was one lamp in the living room but the electric outlet is so old (as are all the outlets) the cord won’t stay plugged in, so we moved the only lamp in from the spare room. The carpet is filthy. Any time spent barefoot results in black feet. The ceiling fan above the dining table is crusted with dust and grime. The kitchen faucet won’t turn off fully. Knobs are missing on the old, grimy stove. There are only 3 teaspoons! Bring your own salt, pepper, sugar and coffee filters there is absolutely nothing. The master king mattress does not have a mattress pad which is gross. The en-suite shower door is rotten and moldy at the base. One sink is badly cracked. The dryer didn’t work because the door was falling off. The lint filter is broken and won’t fit properly so your clothes would get caught on it and ruined anyway. I didn’t plan on spending our last day drying clothes in a laundromat! The A/C intake grill is completely rusted.

Somewhat disappointed
The location and scenery was outstanding beautiful With the exception of all of the homeless people that we have to see throughout the whole day in the park was disturbing. Having to see them drink alcohol and smoke marijuana and have them laying their clothes out while we are viewing the beautiful ocean and the pier was very disappointing. The condo was nice but very outdated. If the stove and furniture and interior was given some TLC it would be a top-notch rental. Even with all that being said, we still had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay

Feb 2023, 4 nights, 3 older adults: The unit was clean but very worn. It feels like a beach getaway that was well loved by a family decades ago, but with minimal maintenance since then. Probably some appliances and mattresses have been replaced. But the couch has peeling leather, the paint on walls & baseboards is dinged, the carpet is stained, the minimal outside furniture shows years of weather. As the instructions indicate (warn), very few supplies are provided. There’s not even soap for the showers. You really need to bring or buy EVERYTHING, or eat out. The nearest real grocery store is about a 10-15 min away. Decent nearby restaurants, nice beach.

Disappointing Condo in a great location
The view was magnificent. What is behind the view, not so much. We were greeted to the smell of Marijuana the instint we walked in. Right away i noticed large gouges in the walls and basboards. So it felt dirty the moment we walked in. The furnishings looked like a garage sale. And the couchs were peeling leather. They couod have came from the side of the road. The property grounds are dated but still nice. With great access to the beach and walking distance to restaurants. I would stay at the property again. But i would wantvto find a different owner. Hoping they actually keep a nice condo and reinvest into their property. Not just ride the coat tails of the ocean view.

My sisters, mother, and myself had a wonderful time at this property! Beachside, hot tub, taco bar downstairs, and a liquor store next door!? PERFECT for a ladies trip!

Apartment 204. Beach Club, Imperial Beach.
Cannot fault the location and cleanliness of the apartment. We loved the view. However, it was lack-luster and not the caliber we have come to expect, having rented a different apartment in the complex last year. The second bedroom smelled musty and our clothes etc felt damp. There was no laundry detergent and the kitchen was sparse. A welcome pack would be a great gesture., including toiletries.

Poor property management
The property needs to be updated. There were some minor problems, ie burned out lightbulbs, outlets that did not work, no hangers etc none of which affected our stay. However, more serious problems were there was no hot water which lasted only for a day, we could not get the TV to work (one of our group is a rabid Nebraska fan), and the elevator did not work (I am wheelchair bound). We called the property manager and her response was (a bit hostile) was that the elevator and TV worked for her. I guess she thought we and the other tenanats who concurred with us were lying. We did get the TV working and the elevator started working for us. However, as we were leaving, a tennant informed us that the elevator was still not working. H;aving said all of the above, the main problem was the property manager. If she would have been helpful rather than hostile, we would have cheerfully managed..

Very nice stay at the beach.
This complex is right on the beach and the unit we stayed at (204) is on the side with a great view of the beach and pier. Very happy with the property and especially liked the underground, dedicated parking (we had two parking spots assigned to out unit). The unit itself is dated and could use some refurbishing, but otherwise worked for us. Only issue we had was had no communication with the property management company until I called a few days before our trip. We actually received 12 emails from them that went to the SPAM folder, and the property manager indicated that their emails were going there for many guests (caution for future guests). Once that was sorted everything was like clockwork - great information with plenty of detail. Will look at this place again for a beach getaway.

Great relaxing place! Place is outdated in need of upgrading. Would be nice if windows had screens to help with mosquitos getting in. Otherwise place was relaxing and close to good restaurants.

Just fine for the price
After reading the other reviews , I was not expecting champagne on a beer budget. This unit is dated and in need of a makeover, but it is clean, right on the beach, beautiful view, convenient to everything by walking distance and to San Diego attractions. It had everything we needed. An inexpensive weekend getaway at the beach.

Million dollar view but condo needs a lot of work.
The condo was built in the early 80's and it looks like it hasn't been remodeled since then. The management staff (Pam) and the housekeeping staff (Alex) did a really good job but the owner has evidently not put in one penny to keep the place up. If it were my home, I would be too embarrassed to ever invite anyone over. The only 'new' appliances in the kitchen were the refrigerator and the microwave. The stove was clean but it was really rusted and you wouldn't want to use it; two of the burners were broken. There is a knife rack but all the knives are dull and dull knives are dangerous. There is a sharpener on the rack but it is broken. All of the faucets, kitchen and bathroom, leak. The area under the kitchen faucet was really rusty, damp and moldy. We didn't use the dishwasher because we didn't know if things would just get worse. The whole place needs to be painted. In several places it looks like attempts were made to 'fix' problems with the drywall but the paint used didn't match. There is a balcony that gives you that 'million dollar view' but there are cracks in it and the left most handrail post looks like it is coming out. I hope that doesn't mean it is dangerous but it sure looks bad. There is much more I can complain about but so what and I'm getting tired. The pictures we saw on the VRBO site were not accurate but unfortunately we trusted the site. VRBO, don't you ever check on the properties you have listed? We've been really happy with them so far but this was really a disappointment.

Extremelly outdated property, awful urine smelling. Only location
The location is awesome. It was the reason we decided to rent it. The expectations was a bit higher based on property description. The apartment complex is outdated, but it was expected. The apartment is extremely outdated, so I believe at least painting job could be done easily may be once per year based on price. But it wasn't painted for years. The most awful thing was urine smelling. It was hot, but I was not able to switch on air-condition, because I was not able to close windows. Smell made me sick. Good for us we didn't spend lot time in home, only night, then I could open windows. It is a shame.. There is a inflatable mattress provided but no linens, and mattress is deflating very quickly. So it doesn't has anything with listed 7 sleep place, but 5 (it's only in case you are able to put someone from you kids sleeping together on queen mattress) My little one slept on tween bed and we found it has metal rails only after he got injured, so be aware and stay away from this property unless it would be renovated. I put 2 stars only because of location, and check-in/check-out process was very fast and easy.

Great time!
Imperial Beach is a vibrant community, great restaurants and the ocean and pier are a lot of fun. Not crowded at all at this time of year. Condo was clean and neat, had a few issues which we told management about, otherwise would have been a 5 star stay.

Great Location. Solid Accommodations.
We stayed with a family of 7 and it served our purposes well. The view of the pier and ocean is magnificent. The place overall is a bit dated and in need of updates but that is reflected in the price point which is quite affordable obviously. Keep in mind there are beds for 5 and then couches or a blow up mattress for two more. There are a few beach chairs, sand toys and balls for basketball and beach volleyball which is great. The nearby park is a great option for families. If you like craft beer you have two great spots right on the strip to walk to. If you plan to do some cooking you will need some disposable trays to cook on which are available at Vons etc.

This property has a beautiful view. There is so much to do and see that is walking distance from this property which is wonderful! The property itself is outdated but clean. Also, there is no hairdryer! They provided beach toys, beach chairs, A pack-and-play portable crib but no hairdryer?! Aside from that the pool are was nice and clean but the water was freezing cold when we were told it was a heated pool. And the lounge chairs were extremely outdated and uncomfortable. The hot tub was hot. The room was spacious and clean. Outdated but comfortable.

Nice location
We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It is a really convenient area to a lot of bars and restaurants and easy access to freeways to get around. The owners are so easy to work with they gave us early access to condo so we could get our groceries delivered while the maids were still cleaning. Thank you much for being so accommodating we would definitely stay here again.

Amazing View
For the price this was a great stay. The ocean view was amazing. The condo was spacious. The beds are as hard as a rock and pillows are NOT pillows but flat pancakes. There are no extra blankets or throws so bring a sweater to sleep or hang around in. The small beach town is quiet. Fun stay.

A week of Solace in Imperial Beach
This condo was very nice and welcoming. We enjoyed ourselves alot. there is a lot to explore in the San Diego are and the Coronado area. The condo needs to have a little work done on it but in general this is a very nice lace to stay in.

Lovely in every sense of the word!
We loved our stay at the underrated Imperial Beach. The condo is older, but it is well kept and clean. The instructions to gain access to the unit were organized and helpful. The condo was located right on the ocean and near wonderful little restaurants. We would definitely recommend it. We had a total of four guests and there was plenty of room!

Great Views, Easy Check-In, Nothing Extra!
The views of the beach and ocean are very nice. The layout of the condo was good for 2 professionals coming for business. The check-in and check-out process is as easy as it can get with a system that doesn't require meeting anyone or scheduling multiple calendars. The comfort level of the condo was just ok with beds less than completely comfortable and the kitchen and baths a bit dated (albeit can be seen from the photos). And there literally are no extras in the condo ... no shampoo, no coffee (or sweeteners / creamers), no snacks, truly no extras. This was a little disappointing but along the lines of 1st world problems. Overall, paying what I did ... I guess I was expecting a bit more (fairly or not). A good, not great rental. 3 stars out of 5 in my opinion.

View was amazing. Kitchen not as much so.
Place was clean and most issues that we had were resolved ASAP. However, the kitchen is not well stocked at all. There was only one baking sheet, which was actually a super cheap pizza sheet and a roasting pan. There were no baking dishes at all. The knives were also not sharp. There were no dish towels at all and this was not addressed when we mentioned it. Overall, we would stay again. The view is stunning and the proximity to the beach is awesome. I would simply bring some kitchen essentials from home.

Awesome Getaway
I grew up on the beaches of San Diego (MB, South MB, PB), but stayed clear of IB for a host of unsavory reasons. But that was more than 30 years ago. I was still hesitant to reserve the Condo, despite all of the positive reviews of the unit, complex and surrounding community. But I can now say that Imperial Beach, the Imperial Beach Club and Unit #204 are all on my "Gotta Do it Again Next Year" list! What an awesome Condo, with outstanding views of the pier, park and beach. The Unit was a bit "worn", but it actually added to the "Laid Back, Beach Bum" feeling we all had the entire week. I highly recommend the Beach Club and in particular unit #204 and you'll have a GREAT time!

Great place to get away with family.
Overall, great place. Super close to the beach, food, and shopping. Very nice to also have a warm pool on site for cold ocean days (be careful in the hottub, as it was the hottest I have ever been in...definitely do not let kids sit in it). Beds were comfortable, TVs had lots of channels, and the in-unit washer and dryer were great. The only item that was lacking in the unit was a pair of oven mitts (it was a bit tough to do dinner in the oven without those!). Maybe by the time the next renter gets in town there will be a set to make it easier. Other than that, we loved it and are already planning our next trip.

Clean, comfortable and a lovely ocean view
This property in an oceanfront condo unit had several excellent qualities, most significant being the lovely ocean view with wonderful sunsets. It was also very clean, and the common space, bedrooms, and bathroom were comfortable. One can walk right out of the condo complex and onto the beach. The unit had two beach chairs for our use. The unit has gated parking inside the building. Our arrival and departure were well organized. The condo also has a swimming pool and hot tub and there is a playground for children right next to the condo building. (We are a somewhat older couple and did not use these.) For a family all of these would be a big plus. The exercise room only had two pieces of equipment (? bicycles) with no other equipment. Our one criticism was that it was minimal in a few ways. Its decor was basic. It had very limited equipment; cooking, plates, napkins, etc in the kitchen with its only stock in the cabinets being salt, pepper and one seasoning but no coffee, tea or anything else. The bathrooms had soap but no shampoo. Overall the unit had a sense of being bare bones, rather than of being gracious. However, as noted above, it has many positive traits, and was certainly far better than adequate, leading to our four star review.

Just expected a better degree of comfort for the price we spent.
Master bedroom still stuck in the 80s with the tube tv. It is a king size bed, just happens to be the hardest bed I've ever slept on in my entire life. Bed linens are low quality and scratchy. No overhead lights in the master bedroom and the fan that is provided is again old, loud and outdated. Water pressure from the shower is terrible and there should have been a better picture of the tub, showing that it is just a soaking tub and not an actual L shape jetted tub designed for 2. They did provide pots and pans, just happens that all the non stick features of the cookware is gone so using them is difficult. The view from the balcony is awesome, but listening to the kids playing on the playground and basketball court kind of ruins the relaxing mood. I guess it is family friendly but being here on our honeymoon and for the price we paid, we expected nicer accommodations.

Perfect Beach Spot!
We stayed for a long weekend of beach fun. This condo is in the perfect location to the beach, pier, tons of delicious restaurants and a park for the kids too, all withing walking distance! Awesome view from the balcony too. Definitely can't wait to go back!

Nice condo with nice beach view
Really liked our condo. It was a little outdated but clean and comfortable though the mattresses could have been a little softer. We had a great view but being close to the park can mean more noise during the day. It wasn't awful but something to think about. You need a key to get into everything. Mostly this was fine but the key was really difficult to get into the doors that go to the beach. I ended up going through the garage pedestrian door which was a lot easier. This says that those doors need to regularly be sprayed with WD-40. The ocean air must get to the locks. Also, if you are looking for a sunny balcony this isn't the condo. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay but if I came back, I'd probably get a 3rd floor ocean front condo
