Preciosa casa de vacaciones con maravillosas vistas al mar en una zona tranquila y protegida

Nuestra espaciosa casa bien equipada se encuentra en un entorno protegido tranquila con gran jardín cerrado y fantásticas vistas al mar y al poco Bernera y el Atlántico. Hay 2 dormitorios dobles, 1 dormitorio con dos camas y un sofá cama doble en el salón abajo si duermen 8. El segundo salón considerable arriba tiene un sofá de la esquina grandes ventanales y un patio que se abren a un balcón de Julieta aprovechando al máximo los puntos de vista - un gran lugar para relajarse con una copa de vino.

El camino por la casa termina 200 yardas más abajo en una playa rocosa - no hay tráfico de paso, sólo el explorador extraño, así muy tranquilo. Bosta Beach y la casa de la Edad de Hierro son sólo dos millas de distancia - un paseo muy agradable - también hay muchas otras playas impresionantes de fácil accionamiento. Nido de oro Eagles localmente y son vistos con frecuencia - la zona es ideal para amantes de la naturaleza, excursionistas y ciclistas para explorar. Los deportes acuáticos como el surf y kayak son también activos populares. excursiones en barco locales están disponibles para las islas o puede visitar el cercano Callanish Stones, el pueblo Negro Casa en Gearrannan o viajar un poco más lejos hacia el faro en el tope de Lewis con sus espectaculares paisajes costeros.

El cercano pueblo de Breacleit tiene una pequeña tienda y estación de gasolina y también hay un centro comunitario con café y servicios de Internet. La ciudad principal de Lewis es Stornoway, que se encuentra a una distancia de 25 millas (40 minutos en auto) y tiene dos grandes supermercados para elegir, que realizan entregas a domicilio.

Instalaciones
Hay dos cuartos de baño - el de abajo incluye una ducha fija, pero la altura del techo es un poco baja (parte antigua de la casa!) así que si usted es mayor de 5'8 "puede que tenga que agacharse un poco para usarlo! Nuestra cocina bien equipada incluye lavavajillas, lavadora, microondas, nevera-congelador de altura completa y secadora (que está en el porche). Hay un comedor separado de la cocina y salón de planta abierta y un porche para dejar la ropa, botas, etc. Así como la calefacción central de gasoil hay una estufa de abajo para disfrutar de agradables veladas en madera.

Hay televisores en las dos salas de estar, así como el dormitorio principal por lo que los niños pueden ver sus canales favoritos sin necesidad de interrumpir el suyo! Hemos suministrado un reproductor de DVD / CD junto con una selección de vídeos y CDs, así como una estación de acoplamiento para su uso con su propio reproductor de mp3. Libros y juegos in situ también. señal de móvil es un poco irregular, pero hay una cabina telefónica de trabajo frente a la casa por si acaso todo lo demás falla (que aún no ha ocurrido). La banda ancha satelital se ha instalado para su conveniencia.

Una cuna, silla alta y puerta de la escalera están disponibles bajo petición. No se permite fumar en la casa.

A great base for exploring Lewis and Harris.

A great location to visit beautiful beaches and all that Harris and Lewis offer. We had wonderful blue skies as well as rain and wind giving us the fully Hebridean experience. The house was very well equipped, clean and warm. The box of treats and card was a lovely thoughtful welcome. Unfortunately, the woodburning stove was out of action which was disappointing and a couple of other small things (that are easily resolved) have made this a 4 star review but in essence this is a great place to visit.

Great hosts

The Isle of Lewis is a magical place to visit and this house makes an ideal base to explore the scenery. The property is large and comfortable and very warm with decent views of the sea, and unbelievable night sky views ( this is truely a dark sky location great for astrophotography) Stornoway isn't too far away, but in any case, you won't see many cars while driving around.. The hosts were easily contactable via phone or email, and will try to recify situations if they arise, however the one problem they couldn't fix was the neighbour's barking dog.

Glen Cottage

This is a very clean, comfortable and warm property. There is ample space even for a large family. We have just returned from a 10 night stay and the house gave us everything we needed. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They are also easy to contact. The VRBO app decided to lose all our correspondence somehow and I got hold of Evelyn straight away, she sent the information directly. There is plenty of parking and a good sized garden. Unfortunately the weather was quite poor during our stay so we weren't able to sit outside. We would highly recommend this property if you need space, comfortable beds, a good view and a quiet location.

A little piece of paradise

We had a wonderfully peaceful holiday at Glen cottage, which was a pleasure to stay in & all arrangements/communications with the owners were straightforward & prompt: check in & property info was sent to us well before our trip, which was greatly appreciated as we had a 2 day journey to get there! Also we were greeted by a huge variety of drinks (kindly put out for us) including alcoholic & decaf tea - both favourites. The surrounding area is just amazing, perfect for anyone wanting to 'get away from it all' & experience some natural beauty. A big thank you Evelyn.

A Wonderful Week

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage in Croir. Our children loved the garden. We loved the view of the sea. On our first day we saw a pair of golden eagles hovering above the garden. The cottage felt welcoming. It was well equipped and tastefully furnished. We enjoyed reading books about the local history.

A Perfect Home from Home

A beautifully appointed house, very spacious but cosy. Excellent facilities too with internet, TV, DVD's and games for the rainy days. The upstairs lounge was a great place to relax with a stunning view to the sea and the islands beyond. We highly recommend Glen Cottage for any group or family looking for a rural escape.

Perfect Place to be!

It‘s a lovely house with an amazing quietness. You can hear some animals, the wind and only sometimes you hear something man made like a car or a ship. It’s extremely remote, therefore you can’t just go around the corner to buy some stuff or go to a restaurant, but we have been looking for exactly such a location, including the rough and beautiful landscapes and it was perfect for us. Thank you Evelyn for sharing your house with us!

Beautiful home in a great location. Exceptional Hosts

This cottage was our home for 2 weeks and was used as a base to explore the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Convenient to all major attractions and an easy commute to Stonaway Evelyn and Graeme were excellent hosts who were very quick to respond when required. The cottage is well equipped and very clean. Excellent cottage, lovely location

We had a great week in the cottage, it was very well equipped and in a very quiet and peaceful location with stunning views to the sea and islands. The cottage was very spacious and the bedroom we chose downstairs was so comfortable, would definitely visit again and would recommend this also. We had good weather and went to most places of interest, especially Luskentyre beach which was stunning and well worth the drive.

Most wonderful Christmas

My family and I spent a most wonderful Christmas at Glen Cottage. It was our first time on Lewis, it it certainly won’t be the last! Evelyn and Graeme surprised us with some lovely Christmas decorations, a most generous hamper and beautiful handwritten card. The house (especially the kitchen) was well equipped, we didn’t miss anything! Everything was clean, the house itself very spacious and offered stunning views from every window. Most of all we enjoyed the wood burning stove and spent really cosy evenings in front of the fire. We can’t thank Evelyn and Graeme enough for offering us this opportunity of a perfect holiday.

Getting away from it all

A great location and accommodation for a getaway vacation. The cottage has everything you could ask for. The view from the upstairs lounge is something to behold, and yes, we also saw the eagles. Travelling to and from Stornaway when we needed to was all part of the adventure. We would also recommend Cameron’s chippy in Stornaway. We would not hesitate to visit again. If we are in this part of the world. A few niggles, The microwave needed a good clean ( which we did ), the fridge has seen better days and should be replaced , and mould on the sink in the bathroom should be an easy fix. Overall a good stay.

This property was all you coukd ask for on a isle of pure beauty ! We had the most fantastic time travelling round we saw the golden Eagle on our last day just sat on the rocks infront of the house the beaches were amazing and we were more than lucky weather wise and swam daily ....definitely worth a visit x

Magnifique séjour au calme

La maison est très accueillante, chaleureuse. Située dans un lieu reculé de l’île, au calme, avec une très belle vue. Le panier d’accueil est une attention très appréciée. Penser à faire des courses avant d’arriver cependant. Nous y avons passé une très belle semaine sur une île absolument magnifique. N’hésitez pas.

Calm & relaxing

This is a wonderful house in a very remote but impressive area. Big rooms, nice furniture, great kitchen, dining room and bathrooms. Lovely views from every window. You can feel very comfortable when you don' t want to go out because of the wheather...!
