Unfortunately, the Museum was closed and I ONLY booked this place to stay because of the museum. The staff was EXTREMELY HELPFUL in helping me receive a Refund and I was given a Voucher for Breakfast. Excellent Customer Service!!!

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. They have so many “rules” that they don’t bother telling you about. Usually you request an early check in/late check out before you get there, but here you have to call the morning of to ask for it, and only then will they “see if it is possible.” Basically, it is a race to see who can request the fastest. The only way to get any drinking water is if you go all the way to the second floor where they have a neon art piece that flashes (whether intentional or not), which is very unsafe for people like myself who are extremely sensitive to flashing lights or people who are epileptic. And the only way to get ice is if you go all the way down to the front desk. Housekeeping is a joke. Apparently YOU have to take the sheets off the bed yourself and put them outside the door, THEN they’ll change them out for you. And they don’t even bother cleaning up the room, they just change the towels and empty one of the trash cans. They can’t be bothered to empty the other or even make the bed. Oh, but if housekeeping is gone they will allow you to change your own sheets. The bathroom wasn’t clean when we arrived either. There was hair in the shower. I have very fine, blonde hair, and on the wall and somehow ceiling there were strands of black, coiled/textured hair. And it was most certainly not mine. Even if you pay for the room in full, if you decide to leave early (or have to in our case) they will try and charge you yet another fee.

Gorgeous hotel. Best bed I’ve experienced in any place I’ve stayed. Helpful staff. Very clean. Downside is no valet parking. The elevators both went out while I was there and had to climb 6 flights of old stairs a few. They did get them fixed before my departure, but it wasn’t handicapped friendly during that time period. I would stay there again.

I normally love the 21C. I still love the Savoy. The food was amazing and everyone from the manager , the bartenders, and the servers were amazing. What was unsafe and ruined the entire trip was when the elevators (all 3) stopped working and the staff on the evening of 02/24 were snippy, rude and unhelpful. You do not just instruct people to take the stairs and then not tell them where the stairs are, or offer water, and assistance to your guests. We were left to fend for ourselve and heard bickering about who "Had" to show people to the 2nd floor. Also, there was no mention that the stairs to the 7th floor were across the building in another part of the 6th floor. I loved this hotel. I undestand things can go wrong, but where was the manager, where was the staff to assist guests with their bags, and to offer at least an apology.

Our room was not as big as I thought it was supposed to be. We opted for the larger Deluxe double double. Then after about an hour of being there, our door would not shut. We had to call maintenance to fix it. He pushed in the door jamb so that it finally shut, but we still could not use the dead bolt. Later that night our toilet wouldn't flush. We called maintenance. In the meantime, my daughter tightened something under the lid and got it working so that when maint came it was back to working. Then the next morning around 7:45 someone walked into our room without knocking and said "oops sorry" and left. We have never had such a weird experience in a hotel before. I would NOT recommend to anyone to stay here safely.

The hotel is completely and funky and unique. There are penguins who pop-up all over and it’s hilarious. There isn’t an ice machine - that was a bummer (felt bad asking for ice at the front desk). No housekeeing during the five-day stay, and shower took like ten or so minutes to warm up? The building is historic, so lots of character and pipes to match, I suspect. Also if you’re going to an event at the Convention Center, there’s a pretty decent hill in between 9th and 13th, so get your cardio in order. The staff were sweet, and the breakfast buffet, although only a few offerings, was delish and a good value. I’d totally stay here again though, but with some expectations in-check.

I really liked my stay. I wasn't in the hotel much but it was a nice place and the high ceilings really made the room feel big. The staff was particular kind and warm and helped with any and all questions.

This property was mediocre. First impression of the place was alright. Interesting feel. Parking was easy. The art inside was nice and unique. There is a lounge on the ground floor, which I didn't patronize, but appeared classy. However, this changed a bit when getting to the room. The furniture and carpeting in the rooms was run down. The sink was kind of unclean or just well-uses, maybe? Otherwise, the washroom and bed itself were nicely prepped and the bed was comfortable. It might be that the rundown appearance is the an intentional nod to an overall hipster vibe(?) of the hotel. That certainly isn't what I want in a hotel, however. The front office staff were very nice and courteous. They helped with all of my questions about the area. A bit of an issue I had was the crowding of parties in the lobby area, which is small, making it difficult to get out of the main hallway leading to the front entrance. Overall, my stay was alright. It felt safe enough and it got the job done for a hotel stay, but I think I prefer the feel of a place that feels cleaner and more well-kept. 3/5 for me overall.

Most of the rooms have the original porcelain sink that has been refinished. I am sorry your room felt tired. Again, thank you for leaving a review. Room was spacious, the art was a nice touch, and the front desk was friendly and helpful, but the shower didn't have hot water or much pressure at all. Overall great for the price, but I wouldn't want to pay more than, say, $200 a night.

The property itself is very aesthetic. We absolutely lived the restaurant and would dine there again! Unfortunately we were unable to get the thermostat to work in our favor. Overall it’s a slightly above average place to stay with friendly staff.

Viaje familiar
Unique fun hotel! While there were things that may raise some eyebrows, we loved that it wasn’t the same old hotel experience. The art was superb! The doorman had a bottle of booze fall out of his coat and shatter when he was helping with out luggage. He said “I have no clue where that came from” and kept on helping us. He acted like it didn’t happen, so we did too! Rooms and halls without art were pretty dusty. Gallery areas were very clean though. Our shades fell out of the window when opened the drapes. We told the front desk, they said they would send someone up to fix it, but it was never done. No biggie though. The drapes had plenty of coverage. If this was a normal hotel, those things would’ve bothered me, but honestly, this hotel was unique and fun, so not concerned about it at all.
