Best location
Staying at Hale Niu was a great choice for its central location. The 3+ bedroom with 3 baths home was spotless and its size allowed all 5 of us adults to relax and stretch both in and outdoors. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with dishes, pots and pans and dishwasher and the dining area was delightful. The huge lanai with table and reclining lounges was a favorite! We had a small view of the ocean but ocean access right across the street and beautiful sun rises. Even had a washer and dryer which was very helpful! We loved this home!

Excellent location and house
All positives to our vacation rental, no negatives!!! We would easily choose this house again! Beds were great, we were able to keep upstairs bedroom sliding door open so we could listen to the waves at night.

Kauai 2023
I felt the pictures made it look small, but to my surprise it was really big!!! The beds were the worse!!! Spend some money on new mattresses. The neighbors to the back were loud and cursing a lot and my grand babies were with us. Dislike that very much . Also ,didn’t feel comfortable in the area after reading the warning about burglaries in our area.

Perfect location
We had a great time. The VRBO fit all 9 of us comfortably. Centrally located, short walk to watch the sunrise. GREAT PLACE!!!

Needs Some Love
Pros Good location, large outdoor grassy area, well stocked kitchen, quick responses from management Cons Dated property (rust in some areas, stains on floor and carpets), ants on countertops (we kept everything very clean but there were many small ants) and in bathroom, termite droppings near the bathroom by the floorboards, noise from the street/cars at night, noise from construction on house next door (building noise and loud cursing), dead bugs on the bathroom ceiling that had not been cleaned, lots of wear and tear

Great location with room to spread out!
Very comfortable house! Has one of the best equipped kitchens we've found in a vacation rental. Our group of 4 (my husband and I + our 2 twenty-something kids) found the location very convenient to explore the island or walk to town along the coast. Fabulous porch and spacious front yard provided lots of room for relaxing.

The perfect family spot
Hale Nui was everything we were hoping it would be. Amazing location, great lanai, beautiful large lawn for the kids to run around under the palm trees, short walk to the beach, the perfect base from which to explore the north and south/west of the island. Photos are a little older and don’t reflect some newer amenities, so in some ways it’s even better than advertised. Hope to bring the gang back here soon!

Great spot for extended family trip. Everything literally at your doorstep. Second time we have stayed at Hale Niu and will stay again. The exterior of the house could use some TLC but overall, a great place.,

Good family rental
This is a well used rental so don't expect resort perfection but it was clean and well stocked and we had everything we needed for a fabulous holiday. We were 5 adults and 2 children and the layout of the house was perfect for us. As the children are young, being within walking distance of a reef sheltered beach was ideal. We loved the town of Kapa'a and had a lot of fun renting bikes, shopping and exploring. We had a great time and have no regrets.

Gem of a spot
The location is fantastic - 20 minutes from the airport, a short stroll to restaurants or grocery stores, easy walk to a little kid-friendly beach (rocks break the waves and create a nice pool for little ones), a short drive to a life-guard beach for bigger kids and better swimmers, and about 30-45 min drive to boatings/SCUBA activities and 30 min drive to Princeville for shopping. Cute home. Well stocked kitchen - like it actually had tools for us to cook meals at home with! I would come back with the family again in a heart-beat. Great home!

we had a great stay at the house large family style house on large open lot 490' walk to the ocean we have booked next year! the house is not high tech or refined but has good wifi to conduct business and has beach equipment and boogie boards good central Kauai location to go north or south which we did most days good bbq and larger veranda for family dinning

If you like climate control do not stay here
It was raining (normal weather and the house was so humid. We woke up 2 mornings to dew on the floors and frig. I had to wipe down the floors to get rid of moisture. Issue was never addressed It took three days and three calls to get cable fixed in one room

Old Hawaii. Great value. Good location
8 of us rented this charming home for ten days. It fit our family with 3 younger kids well. As the photos show it has a tropical feel, comfortable, clean. It is a little dated but we were not paying for glitz. The front yard is huge and great for playing ball. At first we were concerned about no AC but it was fine. There are lots of fans and the breeze is wonderful. The laundry is great. That room has lots of sand toys, boogie boards, beach chairs etc. The kitchen is well equipped. It is just across from the ocean. The beach is not for little kids. You are half way between Poipu in the South and Princeville in the north. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We all loved it and would go back. Great value.

Easter Break from Montana Snow
Kapaa was a great location! The house was walking distance from a kid friendly beach, but be careful on windy days and high tide. We were able to walk to the grocery store and restaurants. Recommend crossing at the light, lots of traffic. The house was clean, had plenty of good water, towels and dishes and cookware. We wish there had been some spices left from previous guests. We loved the porch, and the 6 year old loved finding geckoes all around the house. Lydgate Beach had something for everyone, great place to snorkel. We had a great vacation and will recommend this place to our friends!

Great accommodations for a family.
The house in Kapaa was perfect for our group. Open floor plan, nice kitchen, and nice bedroom arraignments. The yard and location worked out well for our group. Washer and dryer also came in handy. Available beach towels and other beach items were used daily. I would highly recommend this property to larger groups or families.

This was a perfect place for our gathering for our sons wedding.
We loved everything about this place, the location, the yard, the kitchen was fully stocked. It worked well for us as the 2 bedrooms downstairs was for the older folks and the bedroom and sleeping porch upstairs worked great for our family. We couldn’t think of anything we needed and didn’t have. The front porch was great for family dinners and relaxing. Loved it and we hope to come back!

We had 3 couple's, the home accommodation was nice, well equipped with everything we needed. We had a smoke detector chirping and it did Not stop when we changed the battery. We called the management company and it was fixed the same day.

Where everything begins
A block off the beach this house was perfect for us. Cool breezes blowing through the house were invigorating. Everything useful was provided and working. The multi-use path starts right in front of the house and goes several miles North. We walked or bicycled it every day. Kapa’a is centrally located between the north shore towns and beaches and those south in Poipu. Perfect for exploring the whole island. Enjoyed it a lot.

Perfect for a family
Great location, convenient to activities all over the island and very convenient to the airport. Grocery store within walking distance was wonderful! Great shops, restaurants, and the bike path are all within walking distance as well. This was perfect for my family of 6.

Huge space, right on bike bath, convenient base for seeing the whole island
For our extended family of 7, this house was a spacious dream in a quiet neighborhood at the south end of the bike path that runs all the way to Donkey Beach. The lot is huge, and the house is set back from the road with a full lanai. There are plenty of bathroom with great water pressure, and the maintenance company quickly took care of the one minor issue. Note! If you have not stayed on Kauai before, you probably are unaware of the feral chickens that roam the island. There are several local roosters who crow at all hours, sometimes directly under the bedrooom windows. The teens slept right through—some of the adults did not. Bring your earplugs, no matter where you stay on island! The only possible niggle with the house is that this listing says there is a/c in the master bedroom, but I don’t think there actually is.

We enjoyed every second of our stay here! Gorgeous, spacious home with a location that couldn't be beat. We were steps away from the ocean and a wonderful running and biking path. Snorkel and beach gear was available for use, as were towels, linens and a washer and dryer. We truly felt at home here and can't wait to return again!

Wonderful family retreat
We went to Kauai for a family reunion and family vacation. We have many family living on Kauai. There was plenty of space of our family of five adults and one teenager for both private retreat and together time. It was a perfect gathering spot for my extended family. The large patio was ideal for getting together for meals or just sitting around to "talk story". Although the property is not on the ocean front, it is beautiful with the mini coconut grove with lots of cool ocean breezes. We were very comfortable even at night. During our stay, the man hired by the owner to maintain the coconut trees came by to trim a tree in the back. He shared a couple coconuts with us which was a very special treat! Fuji Beach is just a short block away. There were monk seals resting on the beach a couple days we were there. Old Kapaa Town is an easy walk from the house. I enjoyed getting up to watch the sunrise, then walking to Pono Market for my morning latte. We would definitely stay at Hale Niu again! Wish we were still there.
