Weekend in Review

Stayed for two nights. Caught a concert at the casino. Check in process simple and easy. Host had clear and concise communication. Property is quiet. Great location to get away and relax.

Secluded

The location was secluded with nothing to do, but a beautiful spot. Finishes where warn unpainted deck with junk on the ground, hot tub looked in poor condition. No oven mitts, no dish towel, interior needed common maintenance like baseboards needed painting, grass needed mowing, skylight looked moldy, couch not comfortable. Pictures made the place look lovely which it probably was 4 years ago. Just really needed proper upkeep. It seemed neglected. At least it was clean.

Secluded hideaway

Very peaceful spot, nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of any resort. I would love to stay here again and use more amenities as we didn’t have time to use the hot tub or sauna. Just enough space to have a nice time.

Beautiful Scenic Quiet Getaway

We stayed here at end of January 2025 - in the middle of polar vortex. Heat was set just right, and the sauna didn't take too long to get nice and hot. Nice view of the river from windows, no disturbances from any neighbours. A very lovely cozy place to stay and getaway from the big city. Definitely recommend looking into this spot if you find yourself in the area.

Oops ! Didn’t know you were coming !

We arrived and there was garbage, dishes and unmade bed. I did call and they did have a cleaning lady there within the hour. Grateful for the air conditioning ! Must admit, 3 ladies in our 60s coming from event at Rama, we all slept like babies. All in all, was a terrific stay.

Okay for the price

The floors were soaked when I got there wiped them up with paper towels and the paper towels were black. There was a lady standing at the side of the property smoking scared me when I saw her in the window. She said she was dropping of toilet paper not sure why didnt come to the door. The wood burning hot tub could use some better instructions. The water and ice machine did not work. They only provided two small tools for two people for two days .TV in bedroom didnot work the scree was cracked. And kettle did not work. The yard was not well maintained and should have had better seating around down at the river. The neighbors were also extremely noisy all day's banging and chopping down trees and they had there septic pumped with wa s loud and smelled terrible

Overall it was a great place to stay. You are surrounded by nature. The cottage was clean inside and had everything you needed. My husband and I enjoyed using the hot tub both nights. The only thing I would recommend is more cleanliness in the outside sitting area and a good power wash for the hot tub.That was my only disappointment. oftrip.trip.nlydisappointed

Quiet getaway

We needed a quiet break away from the city etc. This place was certainly that which was perfect. We relaxed, did some barbecue, enjoyed the fire pit and our fur baby Roare loved all the new outdoor scents and sounds.

A great little cabin on the river

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The weather was too hot and humid to need the sauna or hot tub, but both looked to be in great condition. The property is quiet and backs on to a beautiful river. The cabin itself is clean, has air conditioning, the bed was comfortable, and there are Roku TVs, for rainy nights. I came to escape the city and have some peace and quiet while I worked on a novel, and that’s exactly what I got. Would rent again.

Not a well kept up cabin. I didn’t realize the sauna & hot tub were both wood-burning and feel this should be stated on their listing. Sadly, the hot tub never got warm. We filled it up and started the fire for it right when we arrived. We decided to use the sauna as well once we realized the hot tub was probably never going to get warm. There aren’t any stairs for sauna, and it was very dangerous getting in/out of. There is a big gap in wood on the ground in front of it. The sauna chimney needs a good cleaning as embers were flying around while we were adding wood & burnt my bf’s hair. There was a broken hatchet left behind sauna + empty wood bags discarded by the house. There is a steep hill to get into house and it was covered in patches of ice/snow when we arrive. No salt or sand was put out on it for safety. Thankfully they were pylons to show that you shouldn’t take your car down to park it by the house as there is a great chance you can get stuck. The bed was small (double) and uncomfortable due to its spring mattress. I also cut my leg on the metal bed frame in the bedroom as there is no cover on it. The vent in the bathroom is very dirty. I hope the host fixes these things ASAP for future renters.

Winter wonderland for christmas

Overall great place to stay in winter. Hot tub wasnt as great as we thought it would be. Took forever to warm up and with only half a cover for it it didnt keep warm at all. It was beautiful with all the snow and we went on lots of walks.

My partner and I got some bad news and needed a recharge. We decided we needed to get away from the city, the crowds and it was exactly what we needed. The perfect place to stay and recharge. Everything was exactly as we expected.

Quiet and relaxing getaway.

My wife and I had a wonderful couple of days at the property. Lovely view of the river was nice to wake up to. Wood-burning sauna and hot tub both kept up warm and relaxed in the cool April weather. Kitchen is well equipped so we are able to make some delicious meals during our stay. And the General Store is only a few minutes drive so picking up last-minute supplies was quick. A great place to unwind!
