We appreciate our great concierges who take guests there for the first time and show them how it’s done. Hi Debby, we are so glad y’all had a great week on the island. You called out some of our own favorite sites and activities! No question that the driver needs to pay attention for potholes when on the roads, and it’s one reason we do recommend 4WD (though it’s not strictly necessary).

Stephanie, it was great to host you! We are glad you were able to find the care your family needed and get back to R&R quickly. We find St Croix to be a good blend of “off the beaten path” and “accessible with all necessities met”, which is one of the things we love about the island.

Thank you, Jim, for the thorough review. We have recently added a solar system to the property to insulate from the occasional power grid problems that impact large portions of the island, such as the one that occurred during your stay. And without power, of course, the water pump and the Internet (including wi-fi calling) don’t work. :-/ In your situation, the generator was the best option available. Going forward, the solar + battery wall should keep the property powered. We are so sorry that the power outages impacted your stay, and are glad you made the best of your visit regardless. We personally love that STX is “off the beaten path”, though admittedly that means the roads are narrower with fewer lights, and similar things that visitors should be aware of. Plus, a lot of development is ongoing - for example, several new restaurants have opened in Christiansted in the past year.
