Great family spot in Napanee

The cottage is a lovely set up - perfect for gathering family and friends. We lived on the patio/deck and it's closeness to the water and the sunsets were such a treat. This is a great property, allowing us to visit PEC easily and have lots of fun downtime. Beds were comfy and kitchen well stocked. Enjoyed the kayaks and swimming too. Great family escape.

Beautiful cottage with gorgeous views

The property was very beautiful and had everything we needed in it. Views and scenery was gorgeous. Beds were very comfortable. Appliances were all new. They had paid attention to every small details that travelers might need in a cottage. The only downside was the barbecue which was pretty small and old but did the job anyway.

Great cottage location

A great location for a family get together with lots of space for the five of us to join together and talk / eat, and great spaces to enjoy quiet time to carry on work calls and meetings. Fabulous patios and nice waterfront. A couple of minor glitches but Michael was always available to assist and answered calls without hesitation.

Great property for teens and adults

This property is great for teenagers and older who love to paddle board and kayak and are less wanting to just wade and swim. Multi-levels to entertain so we never felt ‘on top of one another” and we were 7

Stunning Fall Colours

Our family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tree Tops Cottage. The layout is quite unique and we liked the fact that there was so much room to spread out. Mother Nature was kind enough to cooperate which enabled us to make use of the horseshoe pit and have a bonfire as well as a little kayak tour. The cottage is very well stocked right from the kitchen to the bar area where there were an array of games. Let's talk view... nothing beats having a meal overlooking the water and admiring the incredible scenery. Not to mention the amazing sunsets from the patio.... and star gazing at night. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and we really appreciated the efficiency when communicating with Michael. Would highly recommend a stay at Tree Tops!

Stress free family fun

In a time of high anxiety, it was such a relief to find ourselves in a serene and secluded environment. We loved all the little, well thought-out touches that the place had to offer. Plenty of games, books and water activities to keep us occupied. The Sonos System with outdoor speakers sounded was a bonus. Our 7 and 9 year old had the best time. Michael was an excellent, accommodating host with prompt responses.

Amazing cottage!

I loved this cottage! Amazing view! It is very clean and has everything you need. All the positive reviews are very accurate. The owner was very responsive to our communications. My only comment is that we didn’t know that the bunk beds are located in a small building without access to the main building and has no washroom. No one was willing to sleep there. For us, we are not used to sleep in cabins, may be other people who are used to camping would like it. The whole experience was amazing. We will definitely come back! Thank you so much!

Had a great weekend. The cottage was awesome. Thank you Michael for making this a great weekend.

The property was just as we imagined. Upper deck was perfect. Easy access to kayaks. Huge dining room table and the fire pit was a great way to end the evening.

Almost Perfect

This property has everything you could ask for except swimming. The kitchen is the best equipped I've ever seen and the appliances throughout are great. There was plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 children and even 4 guests one day. It's peaceful and has beautiful scenery. Unfortunately the children couldn't access the water because of the high level and the dock was unsafe. They had to go to a campground half an hour away. The photo of the cottage is no longer accurate as the water is up into the boathouse. Apart from the swimming, it was great.

Didn't end being what we had hoped

I will start by saying the general location of the cottage was nice and the views were unbelievable! Unfortunately though we were generally disappointed with our stay. The biggest problem was the water level which was too high for our kids to swim safely. The water was up over large rocks preventing safe access to the water. We were not notified of the issue until the day of arrival. Had we known ahead of time we would have tried to find something else last minute as our children being able to swim was the most important thing to us. We ended up having to drive daily over an hour to take them to beaches and other activities. The cottage is general is very pretty but unfortunately is in need of updating and attention. The couches were on the verge of breaking and were very uncomfortable. The carpets were stained in places.The decks needed repairs and also the fire pit had rusted nails all around that we had to pick up. The bunkie was not cleaned and the floor had pine needles all over it. The other comment I would make is the neighbors are far closer than expected. The closest neighbor was actually very rude and yelled at my child not 5 minutes after we arrived because the dog followed him outside and wasn't on a leash. Instead of talking to an adult about it he yelled at a little boy. I admit I forgot about the leash rule but going forward made sure there were no further problems. It was an added stressor though given family and kids running in and out all of the time. I do think the cottage would be nice for an older family but not for families with active kids and dogs.

Family holiday

High water levels on the Bay of Quinte made the waterfront difficult for swimming but the view was very nice. Sunsets were great too. Bunkie matresses were uncomfortable but the main cottage beds were great. Kitchen was well organized and the entertainment options were very good. BBQ was nice. We also enjoyed the balcony for visiting and relaxing.

A Great Week!!!

We stayed at this property with another family (9 people and 2 dogs) and loved it. The views of the water from the great room and the balcony were incredible. It was great to sit on the balcony and watch the kids play in the water (hint...water shoes are a must) and fish from the dock. The dining room table was perfect for meals and family game nights. We were there during an August heat wave and the breeze from the water was very refreshing. Michael was very helpful throughout the process. I had many questions before arrival and he was very quick to respond to every one. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

Charming cottage on the lakeside

The TreeTops cottage on Lake Ontario was such a secluded, peaceful, charming place! We stayed in the Spring time while the flowers were blooming. The things I liked the most were: 1. The view from the lakeside was stunning. The house sits right on the lake & you can't get any closer. Loved the upper deck for watching sunset. We had some amazing sunset views. Back yard had plenty of outdoor furniture to relax on and two hammocks. 2. The view from the backside was magical. Lovely woodland gardens surround the property. Lily of the Valley, Hostas, Bleeding Hearts, little purples, & ferns reminded me of my grandmother's yard when I was growing up. Just lovely! 3. The view from the inside of the house was also unique. Loved the sitting room that had a window wall of glass so we could all stare at the lake. The view over the kitchen sink was amazing as well. A giant glass window looking out into the gardens & woods. 4. The house had two separate living areas which was nice for privacy. It was also stocked with plenty of games, DVDs & even a wet bar. The giant dining table came in handy for our big group also. 5. We loved the two docks & kayaks. 6. Loved the master bathroom. It had a beautiful claw foot tub but I was afraid to use it due to the "save water" signs in the house. The house is on well water & I had no way of telling how much water we were using. I would have given this a five star review had it not been for the improvements needed below: 1. appliances, pots & pans need updating. Oven didn't work but we had a nice propane grill out back. Fridge was tiny & a little leaky but it worked. 2. Is there a way to tell how much water you are using?

A cozy home away from home.

Everything was well layed out, labeled and organized. The atmosphere was comforting and made you feel like you never left home. Napanee was just a quick 20 min scoot up the road in case you needed to grab something or enjoy a memorable dinner at the waterfront bar and grill along the river. A vast open upper deck offered plenty of prime sun bathing real estate. The women particularly enjoyed that ;). There was always something to do even on a rainy day. Each day was a new adventure exploring Kingston, the sand dunes, the Tyendinaga Caves, and canoeing/ kayaking the river banks that made up the front yard of this amazing cottage. Definitely recommend to large families or group of friends.

Great little family getaway

We spent five nights and had an excellent time. The house is well laid out, with two excellent sleeping areas that are sufficiently apart for privacy, but both feed out onto a wonderful deck with a great view. We were two families with four kids aged 4 to 6 and the place was especially well designed for the little ones. The living areas provided plenty of space for the kids to have downtime, reading or drawing or playing board games. There is a wonderful little dock that was submerged due to the water level of Lake Ontario, but it was only ankle deep so the kids spent a lot of time with their pretend fishing rods casting but the place was full of perch and sunfish so they had a great time reeling in fish and then releasing them. Non-stop fish action. At the back of the house was a little forest space and a little treehouse that the kids also loved. The kitchen was ideal, spacious, with a great view of the forest. The dining area was also grand with a great view of the lake. Sandbanks is an hour away, as is Picton and in the town of Napanee (20mins) there is a great kids park with an excellent splash pad and that made for great little day trips. Would definitely recommend the home for an Ontario getaway.

We had a awonderfull stay in family

I rented for 5 days for me and my 2 daughter’s families. The House is huge and had all we needed for dayly life and for our comfort. It is like shown on the web picture and in the owner description. We even found when we arrived that that it was better than pictures we saw on the website. Once there, we realized that we were at one hour from Sandbanks but it was not bad. We had rain one morning and we we planning to go at the beach in the afternoon but we didn't go. We were so well in the house and the land around that we staid. The children plaid together and the younger one said that it was is best day. One thing I would like to suggest is to bring water shoes. We had cuts on the feet when bathing from the house's deck.

Beautiful cottage!

We visited this cottage for the Canada Day long weekend with a group of 10 ladies for a bachelorette party and we loved it! So beautiful, clean and welcoming. Michael was very easy to get a hold of with any questions and the cottage had everything we needed and then some. The view was gorgeous and great swimming off of the end of the dock. We had a blast and hope to book again next summer!
